Great list! I don’t understand gamers who dislike the N64, it’s such a pure fun console. Beetle Adventure Racing is a prime exemple of an underrated game many don’t seem to know about!
@@SecondOpinionGames1 Yeah probably. I never had an issue with it since I played Super Mario 64, Wave Race 64 and Pilotwings 64 when they're released and those game are perfect for the N64 controller and naturally train you to like it.
@@SecondOpinionGames1 controller was excellent especially for FPS games because you use the part shaped like a gun. You either used the controller stick and action buttons or d-pad and action buttons but necker all 3 configurations together.
We are all obsessed with hidden gems. I guess it's knowing that there are so many amazing games out there going unplayed. The work of those programmers going unappreciated. Keep em coming, love al the videos, ESPECIALLY the hidden gems stuff!
I just picked up an N64 Everdrive X7, so videos like this are a huge help to find great games I’ve never heard of (except for Blast Corps). Thanks for the video!
@@SecondOpinionGames1 You know what's even crazier. Guantlet: Dark Legacy is amazing on Gamecube, but you take that same game and play on Xbox Original which is what I do and it looks soooo sharp. A few more enemies can be on screen too with no slow down. Both versions are fantastic though.
8:54 the mode is called usagi-san which literally translate to Mr.Rabbit xD Have you ever tried Hybrid Heaven by Konami? I highly recommend it if you like weird RPG mechanics but play it on a TV with a lot of brightness since the game is dark AF (like doom 64) I also recommend Custom Robo V2 (Japan Only) specially if you have tried a custom robo before (it's similar to the gamecube version, so if you have played "Custom Robo Battle Revolution" the language barrier will not be that much) Finally the Tetris games are quite good on their own merits (Magical Tetris Challenge and New Tetris) Good video as always 😁👌
Hybrid heaven was surprisingly good and a long game, but I will admit that I didn't play through it a second time. The "naked" scene at the start was really weird in the 90s.
Well, and I know I am 2 years late to comment and will likely be ignored but good video and interesting choices. I been on a real N64 kick lately, pulled it out of my collection and been enjoying it, hooked up to a little color CRT I even have about 15 original carts and a loaded up everdrive, so I been reliving a lot of my favs from back in the day but also checking out ones I missed. I also never had an issue with a controller and I know people knock the low res textures or muddy graphics especially those that never played it back in the day but I personally have nostalgia for it and a much as it may have been the wrong choice sticking with carts and limiting storage space it did allow for fast load times as well it was probably one of it not the most powerful console to use carts before everyone switched to optical media so that at least distinguishes it from others.
Finally a list of N64 games without Super Mario 64 and Mario Kart lol Battle Tanx global assault was my favorite! If you haven't played it check it out!
Nice list. Honerable mention: Duke Nukem 64. Gets hate because the strip clubs and drug references were removed (replaced by gun shops and higher levels of gore!?) The reason I'd include it is that nobody ever mentions it when talking about N64 fps games, it's always GoldenEye, Perfect Dark, Doom64 and Quake. Playing them now, DN64 runs smoother than all of the above except Doom. It has Campain Split-screen Co-op that runs at a half decent framerate, and the multilayer even has bots, years before Perfect Dark. They packed a lot into that 8MB cartridge for Duke Nukem 64, and IMO is one of the best games on the system. I never understood why it doesn't get more love.
Most of all 3D platform based games for the n64 were really good or had innovative ideas although the handling each games either handles like trash or felt to still, since 3D was fairly new it was acceptable. I had fun playing tonic trouble before I knew it was a “test game” for Rayman For the 64
@@SecondOpinionGames1 I sold mine years and years ago but if Nintendo don't want to preserve their back catalogue then I have no shame in emulation. Just hook my pro controller to my phone and I'm away
Just curious if you have considered listing your games out with the time stamps on your videos. The problem with these suggested games is everyone has their own taste. For example, not everyone likes rpg and/or sports games, gives you the option to skip over those.
