Thank you so much for doing this. Countless times barbers/stylist cut my hair too short and too high in the back. I assume to cut off my crown/swirl which I kinda need to grow my hair out and get the length on top of my head. Now every 2 weeks I taper the sides and back 1 closed to a 3 closed
7:44 Right I remember a hair stylist who didnt even use really "short" guards only like a 3-5 guard and she was like my clipper is getting hot. I was like really?
Thank you so much for this video. I've watched a few other videos and this has by far been the best one. You have made everything clear and explained full details about how the clipper and guards work. I'm about to cut my own hair and would have made some terrible mistakes had I not watched this first.
I appreciate the explanation; I only wish I had caught this post early on in my journey during Co vid in butchering my own hair! Still working on it myself, and still making a few mistakes, but like at my job mowing fairways, they just say “it is okay, it’ll grow back.”
I have a no-lever Wahl clipper with attachments. Thinning the back of my hair is a real challenge - esp. when I have to do it by myself and doing it blindly. I have a thinning scissor, but would rather use my Wahl clipper instead. Can you make a do-it-yourself video on thinning the back of your hair? And should I oil the blade after each use? Thanks!
One time I was clipping my father's hair, I took the gard off to do his neck, then I saw some hairs on top that I missed and forgot to put the gard back on and he had a big bald chunk out of the top of his head... Needless to say I had to finish his whole head that length 😁 oops.✌️😊
That was interesting. I just buy a small T9 classic Hair Clipper to have my whimpers small moustache and sideburns neatly trimmed. I want to grow a small strips moustache to each side keeping clean lips and below the nose 1mm :-p
I went to a new stylist with around 6 months of lockdown growth, having had a consultation first where I said what I was looking for and she talked a good game, but come the day of the haircut she immediately took a number 8 guard to the back/ bottom of my hair to cut it. But I usually wear my hair halfway down my ears or longer, so it's not short anywhere, and consequently I was baffled that she would even fire-up the clippers. And anyway, I went to a hairdresser (as opposed to a barber, no offence to good UK barbers but they do seem totally obsessed with fades these days) to benefit from their scissor skills, not for them to just save time and compromise things, leaving my hair with a razored finish. The whole thing was way too short in the end so needless to say I didn't go back. How can it be that the client is thinking 'rock star' or surfer dude, but the stylist actually gives them 'nice haircut for a job interview working in a bank?'
I'm just starting out at cutting the back of my hair. Already cut the sides with scissors, whcih I've got better at. I've never cut the back of my hair with clippers or used clippers for that matter. Any ideas on what typle clippers I can get at a an affordable price for someone who's new to this? Thanks for the this helpful video! Please let me know. Thank you!
I’m trying to cut my own hair with the clippers. I see you pressing against the scalp. Shouldn’t I put the end of the #7 on my scalp and run it across?
Thanks for this video! I have Wahl Senior clippers but I use them for grooming pubic hair on clients (I do brazilian waxing for a living). As a female person with long hair, I didn’t understand grades so much, though find that a grade 2 or 3 suits most people (and I go shorter if blending in a hairless area. Not that I’m a pro at fades) Would anything differ about how you clean the clipper between intimate clients? I currently use a disposable brush to remove the hair, wash the guards and then spray both liberally with Clippericide and leave for the contact time. Curious if you have any other advice!
Feb 29, 2024. I just got my last haircut from a barber. Senior haircut $21.00, choice of tips on the card reader: $5, $10, $15 or custom. Men are wearing the grossest haircuts these days. My home made haircut can't look any worse.
I don't know who could ever find this useful, the short guards cut hair shorter and the long guards leave hair longer. Who would've ever guessed. I thought this was gonna be a useful video about how to use the different guards in different areas and how to blend in etc.
me about to mess up my brother’s hair😭😭😭
Bruuuuiuhhhh💀💀💀💀
i’m about to do the same thing 😭😭
I had to lol 😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂 cute, lol aim about to mess my Girls hair up. Lol
Thank-you for discussing the lever on the side of the clippers. Many videos do not.

Where did you get that mannequin with hair from?
I need to practice on that.
Thank you so much. I am done with my hair. It looks bad but it I have to do Thanksgiving and my barber appointment is December 4 so it is what it is
In my opinion: excellent presentation!
Thx!!!

Thank you Sir, for your video. I finally understand how to use a clipper and more importantly the clipper guards. I will be forever grateful ❤❤❤.
Glad to help
Thanks for sharing your wonderful presentation here. I like it and will try it later 😊

Yeah I want it to be that short, cheers 👍🏼 got all info I need
This video is very helpful. Been. Searching for years how different razor clippers cut. Finally found you
Really helpful but I want to know how to adjust the clipers
I do a 1/4" in the summer and 3/8" in the winter. I just go over everything with the same guard.
Very helpful. I wish someone would demo with curly hair though
Thank you for this video I still need a lot of practice
How long do you have to wait for the hair to grow back on your model?
Can you do a video on blending the hair going up in length as you go up the head?
If you don't blend it, you will be stylin' like the bros. Tie the top in a bun and be cool, like a fool.
Thank you learned a lot!
You’re welcome!

Did you show any pictures to the hair dresser on what kind of style you actually want
Or at a gay bar.
@@MichaelTheophilus906 I think you've replied to the wrong thread...
@@soots-stayingoutofthespotl5495 No, not ever. You described it well.

Thank you for a good explanation....
You are welcome!
Thank you for the video and just bought new clippers 2 weeks ago. I wonder if it works differently on thinning hair and round a bald spot.
Just buzz it, and don't forget to buzz the bald spot.
The guy getting his haircut is in shock.

I do my hair on number two. Guard.
Actual "measurements" are nice - like #2 guard gives you 1/8 " long hairs
I like the practice head its cute :)
If you have imperfect head shape. Clipper guard will enhance your imperfection. Unless you don’t care.
For beginners, which clipper good to purchase?
In description is my amazon link that has all the clippers n stuff I use.

I just use scissors with trimming my hair. I prefer a long hair look.
Thank you
GREAT VIDEO VERY HELPFUL ‼️🤙💈
helo, my hair is very straight and thick, is it possible for me to get a slight wavy hair like those Korean parting hairstyle.
My hair is like that to like no matter what I do it just grows down and thick and super straight
Can you kindly tell me how much hair is left going 'with' the grain using a number 8 guard?
Not sure
It is very helpful
Why is my clipper pushing my clipper guard toward the right side?
Thank you so much! 🙏
Very helpful thank you
Glad it was helpful!
thanks for the video.
💈✂️ Bien explicado.
Gracias 😊
Hi, what guard I need to make my hair 1mm short?
Uhh I’m guessing no guard since a 1/2 guard is 1.5mm
Good job 👏
Very helpful thank u
Thank you…
Can you do a tutorial on the MCU character Namor from the upcoming Black panther: Wakanda forever
Every self made covid barber has made the too short mistake I bet. Nothing I could do but bring it all to a number 2 and let it grow out for a month
So you only ise this dummy once?
Are you always suppose to cut upward, im learning on my own, i have cancer, can't afford to go to barber
Cool thanks 👍🏽
