Additional Information here! - In early Phase with platform, Auto attacks lands on Two tanks(each wing attacks each tank) only when at least one of the tanks have the aggro of the boss. It doesn't have to be both tanks, but we only need a single tank to grab a boss, and the off tank can help main tank with Shirk. - In early phase, if both tanks die or neither of tanks do not have aggro of the boss, both wings will attack the player with the highest aggro. If there is only one tank with the aggro of the boss, both wings will attack one tank only, which means x2 damage on a single tank or any other player. - In Final phase, Boss's both wing attacks the player with the aggro on the boss only! It never hits the off tank, so off tank always feel free to drop the tank stance for the higher dps. - In Final phase, Tera Slash, the tank buster that leaves physical vulnerability Up to its victim, is CRITICAL DAMAGE. Tanks can use Awareness to significantly reduce the damage of the tank buster. Tips: - For Akh Morn, have two tanks share the 1st Akh Morn, and use their Immunity skills for 2nd and 3rd Akh Morns. 1st Akh Morn is very easy to stack up to mitigate the damage together, but 2nd and 3rd may be hard to share the tank buster together since the mechanic involves some movings during it's happening. - In early phase, Bring the first Tail Marker(healer) always to the SE platform, 2nd marker(DPS) to Center/NW platform, and 3rd marker(Tank) to SW platform. For DPS, if the center platform is cracked, move to NW. If center platform is NOT cracked, move to here. Also, during 2nd Tail Marker, it's always Levinbolt. Everyone prepares to spread out! - For Atomic Ray in final phase, if possible, using four waymarkers help a lot for players to notice where to go. Simply designate each atank/healer and a dps classes(2 players) to each marker(A,B,C, and D with NW, NE, SW, and SE), and simply move to there when the mechanic starts. If possible, give some enough distance between four markers to break. - For Wyrmwall or Breath, try to stay close to the center of the arena/boss. It will make the mechanics much easier to avoid huge AoE's. - In Final phase, Stay on the West or East side of the Arena. Boss will always turn to North side and starts casting three final Enrage spells, and small circles that brings you to Shinryu's Back spawn west and east side of the arena. This will give you more time to spend with killing everything before Enrage Spells. Try this, if your group is having trouble with dps issues to kill two wings and shinryu before the enrage. - During Active Time Maneuver, NEVER TOUCH "ENTER" ON YOUR KEYBOARD. Any key but Enter works. Use your mouse clicks too! Ah, you don't have Enter, Controller Users. Thanks for reading a huge text of wall.
Shame that playing healer is AIDS-inducing in party finder, though. Like your paladin just forgets to use any cooldowns during akh morn and dies instantly. Or half your party clumps together for levinbolts. And these are clear parties.
yeah it kinda sux to actually find a fire mage who relies on pots and elixirs... and a ice mage who will not change to maximize dps and thinks spamming flare is the way to go.
When college started for me before 3.0, I lose the luxury to put lots of time to practice ShinEX without a guide. And I don't touch Mr. 'Happy' video cause hes just a jerk when I brought something and was all 'whatever...' lost respect for him.
since 5.0 we got a anti-knockback too :D FINALLY! I was always the only one (of my raid) running to the edge to not getting knocked off of the platform -,-
The cracks from Earthen Fury have 2 patterns. It can be different each fight. If the middle is cracked from the ultimate, then it’ll be 1st tail in the back on SE corner, 2nd in front of Shinryu on the nw corner, and third on the back again in the sw corner. And most people use shinryu as north and not the compass itself.
Judgements bolt’s paralysis has a 15% chance of occurring on each player. This was confirmed by the devs on the official forums due to people being confused about its occurrence.
Watched this while doing a run on the treadmill tonight. Thanks for the awesome guides, as always Mizz. Glad I live in the multiverse where you make FFXIV guides! P.S. I got Neo down. Thanks for being a part of the training with that too!
Thank you !! I love your guides they are right to the point and very organized. I went in this fight once and did terrible. I am going to try again. As silly as it sounds I had issues with first phase tidal wave as a healer I kept moving xD
As someone who’s new to the FFXIV endgame, how does this fight compare to Savage content? Are they similar in terms of difficulty? Or is Savage content on a higher level?
@@yangwenli6878 I'll assume you never touched a Savage or an Extreme and ignore that. Savage is 100% on a higher difficulty level and doesn't depend on the fight. Extreme is very casual and braindead for those who play Savage. With that said, Savage is not that hard after you get into it. Ultimate is in an even higher difficulty level, with a much bigger jump from Savage than Savage from Extreme.
Here I am about to do this Synced years later for BLU completion. From the looks of the comments below, seems like this extreme still has people running for their money
Does anyone know how to get all raid enemy targets to persist like that in the HUD and also show the current spell cast? I find it tough as a healer to see what's currently being cast by the boss, and can't seem to find the setting for it in the hud.
This fight is absolutely vicious at minimum ilvl. One vuln stack? No big deal, right? Turns out the next raidwide will kill you from full health if you're not a tank, and the next Akh Morn will kill you if you are.
I really don't get the point of the Active Time Maneuvers - can someone enlighten me? Watching this seems to be a jarring break between the phases, requiring you to just mash whatever button to win. It seems to be hard to fail, so - why is that in? It has nothing to do with the fight, you're not dodging anything, not maneuvering yourself, nothing - you're just starting to hammer any old button for no reason other than it telling you "hammer the button or you die". Guess hammering "asdf;jkl" translates to an always-the-same awesome ninja jump?
You're struggling to break from the chains. The point of that is to keep uptime on people so they can't "break" or let the mind rest. You are always "In" the fight. (until the transition animation)
Lyo M It's part of the fight. You fail the ATM you die. A tank in a Susanoo ex run I did once didn't know he had to click on the blade's shadow and we ended up wiping.
I guess. I would just imagine it'd be less jarring if the boss flies up, you need to spread, and a second later it crashes through the platform. When the whole UI disappears and the ATM animation plays, that's when I'd "let my mind rest" and feel like I'm outside the fight. I could even close my eyes and hammer shift for a few seconds. If it flies up, I have a second or two to run from the center, and it crashes into the platform right after that, it sounds like it'd much more "involved". If there any ATM where you have to respond to the situation on the screen? Like, different keys for different things that happen - because that'd be a nice "minigame" and make ATM much more than what currently seems to be an AFK check (which AOEs would be too, of course). (tho I see your point with trying to break from the chains, that does make sense. And I do see that this lets them show you something other than your character and still require you to do *something*)
tbh that was the first time you actually had to click on something lol. Rabanastre's Rofocale fight was rough in the beginning too because you had to "activate" the runes during the dark phase
Death Sentence is a tankbuster, so tanks/healers need to be prepared to mitigate/heal through it. All 3 of the Hakkinryus will cast this, so DPS should focus them first, which will help as well.
watching this battle make me feel like darksouls boss easy more like easy boss compare this. cant wait to trying this raid. just completed the main quest SB while ago
Dark souls cannot be compared to any current MMO I know of, MMO bosses all have tons of health and rely on super complex mechanics (the good ones anyway) and Dark Souls bosses are pattern memorization and reaction time and can generally be beat in a few good hits if you know what you're doing and have skill.
One not-so-minor nitpick: he starts the battle in the East, not the North, at least as far as the minimap is concerned. For people like myself who work with maps semi-frequently (or anyone with a military or nautical background) that's going to make a lot of your instructions a bit confusing.
20000000000000 mechanics, how are we supoused to memories all that from our first time.. we need to do this dungeon 10 times aleast aswell to learn all of this ... 😭

Thanks for reading a huge text of wall.
Would like to add that pressing "/" key also triggers chatbox to be active so stay away from the bottom right corner of your keyboard.
oh ur right. very true. I have to mention '/' as well
So technically, OTs have to aim to maintain 2nd in aggro in case some freak accident causes MT to die, right?
I like how SE is giving healers more interesting mechanics to deal with lately.
Shame that playing healer is AIDS-inducing in party finder, though. Like your paladin just forgets to use any cooldowns during akh morn and dies instantly. Or half your party clumps together for levinbolts. And these are clear parties.

Yeah in Heavensward the Healers had nothing to do then Heal. In Stormblood the Gameplay evolved really good.
Been looking forward to this, thanks Mizz
FINALLY!! I been waiting for this guide for a long time! ty! :-D
Shinryu EX just came out two weeks ago...
And MrHappy's guide came out roughly 2 days after it.
Ragner Angel happy is a jerk. I stop watching his stuff

I watch a guide to get info on a fight, not critique the player's character. Plus your argument is far from convincing
i love your guides so much, mizzteq. they make otherwise confusing mechanics easier to understand.
"Players can use knockback immunities..."
> BRD/MCH Players
;_;
BRD can dodge it to with his backjump if its perfectly timed :3 MCH is rip. #MCHismyMainDD
since 5.0 we got a anti-knockback too :D FINALLY!

especially when the dps doesn't focus on it...
"Do you have any Questions?"

Totally unrelated, but monk animations are so awesome.

With fights like this, makes me wonder why most people say to me there's nothing to do end game o-o
I wonder how fast this fight is now in the current patch. I still need a clear, but damn this has alot of phases
Thank you MTQ. Your guides are always helpful!

no :( no one accepts a srub like me in o2s. already beat o1s tho
What about now
