Mizzteq, just want to say thank you for all of your guides. I'm finally leveling my last class (SCH/SMN), and then I'm going to catch up on all of the EX, Coils, Endgame dungeons etc. Without your guides I would have fallen even further behind, but I constantly get Commendations because even though it's my first run (and the other players get the bonus) they are so impressed with how well I 'react' to the mechanics :)
Good luck getting through the coils. Freaking no one ever plays them anymore. :( I've only managed to get through the First Coil due to lack of players.
Great guide. Note that the weather tag on right topright of the map tells you you what phase you're in. Wind and water are sometimes hard to keep apart from just the background.
If you find that DPS is lacking, and are unable to destroy the carapace in one go, it is acceptable to take one tank, one healer, and two dps the first time, then have them sit out the next time and have the remaining four members go up.
Also a slight warning on the Green and Blue add phase, do absolutely NOT kill them while they're casting their debuffs. This can cause the debuff to glitchout and potentionally leave some members unable to do damage on the other one that is still alive so that the DPS check will fail.

joined a blind party pf with sprouts (i dont think most were actual sprouts xD) and we cleared it one go.... this is literally just like normal, you can just stand still and let things resolve xD
BlackRoseThornEtna It seems to vary from server to server. Mine(Jenova) seems to suggest 170 at min. with your 180 weapon(Which kinda defeats the purpose of grinding for the weapon). Others say differently. I've heard people say that thy could consistently beat him below the ilv 160 mark, so its hard to say. Really it just seems to come down to skill. Gear really only gives you a little more of a chance for making bad moves. Failing to kill the carapace on the first try is a wipe. Dying even once on the dragons is almost always a wipe. screwing up anything on the third phase is a wipe. It really amounts to getting enough practice in to master the fight had having enough gear that you can make up for your bad playing at some point.
morrison215 What parties on Jenova have been saying that they can do this with 170? The groups I see are asking for 175 and up, I'm pushing 180 myself. There is no way this thing is harder then Alexander and only drops a 175 for a item level weapon.

even more so than patience, play the game for the sake of playing the game. Say you quit every time you see that someone is new to the dungeon or raid, what happens then? You lose 30 minutes of your play time, and you likely cause the entire group to either wait for a replacement that may never come, or worst case scenario a new player to dungeon comes in your place and now the whole group may suffer that much more. If you have experience then you should be sharing, and taking pride in that, it's not like the game doesn't reward veterans who play with new players, you get extra rewards for just being there with them should they succeed.

If you cant differentiate colors just look at the weather icon on minimap for which weather is which he is controlling.
KazuyaItachi90 This only helps you with Lightning weather. Wind and Rain share the same icon for unknown reasons.
Nesaru Not really, the wind and rain icons have different directions to the rain if you look closely enough.

Miunih Wind and water also share the same rainy weather, which caught me off guard my first time.
