It was always an excellent motor they were making over 1000hp 20+ years ago when dart started supplying there own 2jz blocks and now with billet they're even faster

So many questions we have when upgrading performance and it seems that his team is willing to go the extra mile to contribute to a successful customer build. 10:40 That's how we were in the 90's.. There wasn't any internet and people weren't afraid to lose.. It was all fun either way.. It was all mostly local stuff but it was fun and safe.. It was basically a few guy's from one town racing guys the next town over and stuff like that.. But it was all safe We went to back roads where no one lived. But we didn't have social media back then that didn't really come around until the mid 2000's.. But now I feel like there's a time and a place for everything so when I get someone in a fast car next to me, I just let them go most of the time. Anyway I am older now and don't really care for street racing anymore. But I was young and get it. The older you get the more you just want to baby your cars and chill..
I miss the tristate tuners forum. Such awesome people. the craziest races I ever saw came from car meets from there.

Bro PRP has developed a new cast block for the RB and new heads too! And they want to race in America! And they’re also going to do the 4G63 as well. This year and next year I can’t wait to see how much they move forward in drag!
Also billet RB30X is a cross between a RB30 and a 2JZ!

Titan motorsports was the Goat back in the late 90s- 2000s they are still breaking records with 2jz-b58s. I think a few months ago they broke the world record for fastest A90 interview those guys

Yeah, the 2JZ is a good platform. In fact, it's such a popular platform that I believe real Street had teamed up with dart and now they have a iron block for the 2JZ
2jz is still better, but for 80% of ppl, the b58 /s58 does all you need 95% of the time anyway. by the time you get into 2jz money you might as well get a gen 1 gtr and buy a sheptrans
Problem is 80% of car people finance their cars and affirm their mods.
@@Bootchairas a former mechanic and salesman. I just decided a 2004 Is300 forged 2jz build with a 400.00 local long block 2JZ GE VVTI block does the trick. Car weighs like 3,250lbs before turbo catch cans etc. financing 44k-100k b58/s58 car is pointless to me. If I did have 50k down for a car it’s none of those cars anyway.
Owned an a80, and used to work at BMW. Bmw’s straight 6’s ARE good.
But the 2j is king.

2JZ with it's iron closed deck block is definitely the best Japanese engine for drag racing but on a road course i rather have a more compact aluminum V6 to improve weight balance.

The 2JZ is definitely EOL. The airflow of the head and the small amount of bearing surface gives it a ceiling that is much lower than people think.

Victor is a lot younger than me but his explanation of street racing sounds like the late 90’s in my area if u had a 11 sec car and a car that made 1hp per ci you had a hot rod. Yea there was nitrous but no turbo stuff. It was the old school thinking of No replacement for displacement
