One of my favourites. Angelina Jolie did an OUTSTANDING performance of Christine Collins. She was robbed of the awards she did not win.
Really? I really hate her in this. I think her performance it’s the main reason why this movie isn’t more popular
Ege Ay sometimes an actress is just not the right person for a movie. I don’t think she owned the screen the same way she owned in Mr and Mrs Smith. Although parts of her performance were strong, in the quiet parts she was just bland. In the movie I didn’t really care for the outcome of her character. I just wanted to see if the people would found out what the police did, if the kid would ever return and the outcome of the trial. She was the main character on a tragic real life story and she didn’t made me want to know what was happening to her. I was more interested in the boy that faked being her kid. In the scenes with Angelina, that boy own the screen more.
I thought everyone already know that awards are not real, you don't win award if you are good or if the movie is good especially in 21th century, Hollywood give awards for actors and movies that they want to promote. a lot of great actors still didn't win awards or get what they deserve.

this movie is incredible! we were in a whirlwind of emotions, the anger, sadness, and pain has me crying throughout the whole movie. the sad reality of how these cases still happen is beyond frustrating. how i wish to see more films like this.

This movie was AMAZING! However, it was incredibly tragic and sad. It totally made me cry. What they did to this poor, grieving mother was just plain evil. It's disturbing how people in the position of power can act so evil and depraved from basic human empathy. The captain JJ Jones, the doctor, and psychiatrist in this film made me sick! They had no conscience and were completely heartless. They mustn't have had kids of their own, or else they'd feel what this mother was going through.
I know this comment is from three year ago, but also what about the kid? They ruined his life too in a sense, cause like who’s kid is he? The whole thing is sick and twiste,

i watched this movie with my sister(she was 15) when i was 9. i cried for 2 days and i didnt want to sleep for a week, i was so afraid, for so long, that what happened to the kids might happen to me too. this movie completely traumatized me when i was a child. i just passed by the trailer by coincidence and i got chills all over my body for like 30 seconds..

I'm still so sad.
The exact same thing happened to me when I was 11!!! I had depression for 6 months after because of it.
This is so funny, I also had an older sister about 15 who watched this (apparently for a class) so I tagged along and watched it as well while our parents were out. (horrible idea) I think this movie caused some serious childhood anxiety because I remember waiting for my parents to return home while in debilitating fear. Growing up I always thought it was a horror movie because of how scared I was weeks following. But I also think it made watching actual horror movies a breeze as I got older, because nothing has ever scared me more than this movie.

I watched this when I was 8 and I slept in my mom’s bed for months after I watched it because I was so traumatized. Years later and I still remember how deeply unsettling this movie was.

This movie is certainly one of Clint Eastwood's greatest accomplishments as a director. The raw emotion from Angelina Jolie to the horrific depictions of crimes committed both by the police and the suspect were done so amazingly well that even at one point I had to close my eyes because of how overwhelming it was. For a movie to do that, to pull those emotions of shock, fear, disgust, grief, you can't tell me this wasn't a masterpiece.

@@renzlaguerta2237 If this is THE Christine Collins from the 1920s, then her son was dead. Kidnapped, raped, and murdered by Gordon Stewart Northcott. So all the while she was being made to believe that it was her son who was with her, her real son was being tortured in a chicken farm. Disturbed me to no end.
Belle Hecate yes, it this one. What is disgusting was that Gordon tried to act like he never hurt her child, and that kept giving Christine hope that her son was alive, it wasn’t until the boy that showed up, and said he had escaped. The officer asked him why he didn’t spoke sooner, and he said that the only reason why he didn’t spoke sooner was because he was scare for his life, and afraid something would happened to his parents, and he decided to come forward because he missed his parents. That part was super sad.
😭😭😭😭😭 also, another person that helped this case was Clark, the nephew of Gordon, if he wouldn’t of had come forward, Gordon wouldn’t of had been encarcelated. Glad he spoke. Poor kids, they didn’t deserved to be dead, I just can’t imagine their pain. I feel so terrible also for the headless Mexican, poor kids.
😭😭😭 all the pain, and suffering this sick monster put them through. Glad Gordon got what he deserved.

This was released in 2008 and I saw it today , I had been watching Hollywood movies since 8 years but I couldn't not find about it . I would say , It is definitely a worth watching . It shows How Corrupt police can be , based on a true story .

I read everything in the internet. Everything in this movie is real. Even the small details happened for real. Nothing has been invented or added to the plot. The plot is as close to reality as it gets. All characters are real too. Even the names are real.
And it's true also that Christine Collins never gave up in searching for her son until her death.
Amazing movie, amazing performance of Angelina Jolie and amazing music score of Clint Eastwood.
First I listened to the score and it moved me emotionally and thus I decided to watch the movie. This is a valuable movie that is worth watching.

I read a book about this missing child and his serial killer, called "The Road Out of Hell". It is the most harrowing true crime book ever. I can't recommend it because it will give you nightmares.

gave me the chills. brilliantly executed film. horrific story. best I've seen recently, up there with Parasite and Withnail & I.
Worst part is, there is still such monster in our life, they might not kill the children but they use them for something worse like organs trafficking or work for them and gods know what else, people should never let their children away from their sight. every parents should watch this movie.

I don’t think anyone here knows what a changeling actually is or maybe the movie explains it idk I haven’t seen it but if you don’t know a “Fairy’s will kidnap you’re child when they are a very young age when they are asleep, they replace the child with something that looks like a child ( a changeling) they take the child away whilst the changing gets older it gets more ugly and less human like until the parents figure out that it wasn’t their child they had been raising” ur welcome

I drive by the murder property/house all the time out here in Riverside/Mira Loma. It’s on Wineville, the original little house is still there on the property and almost looks the same today, you can see it right from the street.
the sad part is this problem was never solved. christine died without knowing anything. everyone was punished. but what does that matter.
