- In this video I share a very simple way to make maps; in a future video I'll share a more complex way that allows for more control.
Using Blender 3.5: www.blender.or...
BlenderGIS Plugin: github.com/dom...
OpenTopography url to register and request an API Key: opentopography.org
Is it me or is the audio incredibly low?
Oof sorry, don’t do a lot of tutorials. Can you hear it if you turn it up? lmk if you can’t hear parts of it.
@@jaredralphstanley can confirm, it was low but I could hear you just fine once I raised my volume.
@@fretstain cool thanks for letting me know! if i do any other tutorials i'll be sure to check the audio first.
It’s you
@@dialac1 subtitles could help in such cases. Please turn them on next time 👍thanks for the tut
Great video! The only thing I wasn’t sure is how to get this api key
Thanks for sharing this amazing tutorial
thansk for sharing! ☺️
Any idea why I'd be getting grey tiles on the base map? It doesn't seem to be downloading properly - used to work fine in the past. Is much slower too for some reason
I guess I’m not doing something right? All it lets me do is move the map around. I can’t select any point on the map nor will it allow me to select ANYTHING at all on Blender. All I can do is zoom in and out and move the map around. I have to close blender out and reopen to try again all to no avail. Please help lol this is quite frustrating!
hmm sounds like there might be a popup modal blocking the click events? not sure why blender would stop working, so im guessing it would be something like that?
Hello, I would appreciate your help please, I downloaded the plugin and opened it in Blender (3.5.1 v). After choosing the location I want, I click on "get elevation" I add an api key, and from here I don't see that it does the action. I would love to know what you think is blocking the process? Thanks!
Podrias hacer el ejemplo que muestras al inicio del video, ese gráfico con ese relieve esta fantastico.
apologies! i have so many renders i don't seem to have saved that one - but it's very easy to get results identical in quality to this - I just posted the second video today and it shows you how to re-create.
on basemap when i click this pop up no imaging library available. imageio module was not correctly installed. so what should i do
I have a map in TIFF file. Instead of using google maps or bing, its possible to add srtm to this TIFF map? I tryed, but give me error messages....
You could load that tiff file in as a texture and align with the model. Have you tried that?
can we do a whole continent?
Sure, you’ll want to be careful of having too much data - so if you’re doing a whole continent you probably don’t want to load in every little foothill and bump - so depending on the scale you should manage the information accordingly.
Hey thanks for the vid and sorry for getting into the bug subject but I can't make the basemap appear (running it on 3.5) any idea? Thanks!
hmm not sure, was seamless for me. perhaps you could try a reinstall, or ive heard sometimes there are plugin conflicts so you could try "uninstalling" (just toggling off) existing plugins and see if that helps? Good luck!
@@jaredralphstanley Yeah I allready tried to reinstall and following some solutions to similar issues notified on GitHub but no succes... But! I didn't tried the plugin conflict thing you're talking about I'll see if it helps thanks!
@@911pow cool. lmk if youre still stuck i can see if i can help.
@@jaredralphstanley I am facing the same problem with the basemap not working. I recently installed blender 3 5. When selecting basemap it says no image library available. imageIO module was not correctly installed
Same problem here, anyone figured out a solution?
GIVE THE TUTORIAL HOW TO EXPORT/RENDER THE FILE AFTER EDIT IN BLENDER
THIS IS AN ORDER! 😂
um ur github link does not work lol uodate it

looks like useful video but extremely weak audio makes it almost worthless
Your voice is inaudible
