  • When you take delivery of a 2022 992 GT3 Touring you never want your detailer to find hidden damage! We unfortunately did and this is why you choose Status Detail to detail your new car! Sit back and relax watch the in depth wash , paint correction, PPF and ceramic coating process! I promise its very satisfying!
    To be clear the dealership did not cause the "Delivery Damage" I believe this happened during the production process. Please DO NOT blame the dealership! They did a very nice job!

      I love to hear comments like this. Because I really struggle with.... Is this to long!?!?! Then I edit down a little and typically I do believe I find the right sweat spot because if it's "long" but over to fast then it was engaging so that's good!!!
      But yes this is my constant struggle. Is it engaging. Is it to long. Am I staying in this section to Long? Etc

    Evan,
    Just saw this pop up on my feed. Was only able to watch a few minutes on my phone cuz I have some errands to run. Will watch it when I get home on my 65" flat-screen TV.
    I'm anxiously awaiting delivery of the waterless wash kit and other items that I ordered from you the other day. I found my old Porter Cable buffer and some polishing pads (still sealed in their original wrappers) so I'll be able to do a good polish after washing and before I do the ceramic coat.

    Finally! This is the content we've been waiting for. Love your perfectionist approach and also up-beat personality - shows extreme confidence. Thank you so much! I especially like how you talk about the hardships of removing deep scratches and marring, which isn't really shown in the detailing businesses as they tend to just cover them up. I can't imagine how long you've spent on that little section alone.
    I have a quick question:
    After this kind of correction is applied, how would the owner go about and maintaining the washes from a weekly or bi-weekly perspective? For example, do you want to go through a full detail every week, or would that be overkill? One thing I have an OCD about is I just go through a full detail wash (water rinse, pre-wash, water rinse, 2BM wash, rinse, sealant). It takes up a lot of time unfortunately. As for my monthly (once a month wash), I go through the full 3PH method (alkaline, acidic, and neutral shampoo).

    • @STATUSDETAIL
      @STATUSDETAIL  Рік тому +1

      Thank you! So happy to hear your enjoying the videos!
      If you have the time you can't really overdo it on a wash if your doing it properly.
      I have a video or two about washes or like quick washes.
      But the general rule is if it looks like it's pretty dirty you're going to have to wash it properly.
      I do have a video in the works on how to do a proper wash start to finish that will cover basically everything you should need to know like how to remove tar if needed how to remove bugs if needed etc

    • @simplyeric12
      @simplyeric12 Рік тому +1

      @@STATUSDETAIL Thank you so much. That sounds proper. I think you mentioned it in one of your videos that made me kind of confirm my thought. I guess there shouldn't really be any time constraints when it comes to car washes/detailing.. I think you said it best, "if it looks dirty, it's going to need a clean."
      Yes, I saw your video on another Porsche where even if it is perfectly ceramic coated and doesn't look dirty, there will always be a remaining 20% or so of dirt left on the car that can't be seen. I think that stuck with me ever since and that is why I just go through the whole car washing process no matter what (I don't have too much time constraints as it's very therapeutic to detail my cars fully even when they are minimally dirty).
      I'm looking forward to your next narration! Thank you!!
      Edit: Another question: What is your take on applying sealants/quick detailer to the car after every wash? I know it doesn't harm it, but I was just curious if this is something necessary.. I use a sealant w/ ceramic properties (gyeon quick detailer that you recommended before) that I just use everytime after the drying process. I just don't trust the labels saying that they last for a month. Might as well reapply it every wash?

    • @STATUSDETAIL
      @STATUSDETAIL  Рік тому +1

      @@simplyeric12 I highly recommend a product like wet coat or hydro at the very end of your wash right before you blow dry.
      I'm That will definitely help make the drying process very simple and very fast with a blow dryer.
      Naturally there's going to be some water left and mirrors will drip and things like that.
      It can be a very nice helpful way to dry the car fully at that stage where the ceramic detailer or reload 2.0 or cure etc
      I don't think there's anything wrong with that.
      I also don't think there's anything wrong with having the car completely clean in your garage and you only did wetcoat. So now you do cure or reload or q2 wax or exo etc for fun on a clean dry car because you love the car and the process and have the time.
      Just don't stand in front of a dirty car and rinse it and then say oh man it's dirty. Then ceramic detailer the rest to clean it. That's the half steps that get you in trouble.

    Wow! Simply amazing. I'm truly speechless watching your attention to detail. Coming from a novice weekend warrior detailer, how many total working hours did you spend on this specific vehicle? Also, before watching your videos, I never knew there was a reason to ceramic coat after PPF. I guess I was under the assumption that if someone chose PPF, they would be off the hook for having to ceramic coat. Also, since watching your videos, I now try to follow your wash process. I purchased a used 2019 Audi A6 in Mythos Black and was amazed at how delicate the paint was. But by following your wash steps, I'm able to minimize any additional swirls. Reset is just your normal wash soap so you would basically always be using that.

      That is one incredible compliment! In a very generous thing to say! I definitely turn out less content now than I used to. I used to release a video every week but I felt like the videos weren't very good. Now I release a video that's roughly 20 to 35 minutes long but put a lot of effort and try and tell a story of a full detail and really put a lot of time into the filming and the editing. Since I've begun that process the videos have done really well and the channel has kind of exploded a little bit. So I'll definitely keep this format and the only downside for the time being is that I will release content less frequently but when I do drop something you know it's going to be pretty awesome.

Sorry for asking in the comment section, but do you have a product recommendation for hard water spot/mineral deposit removal on a ceramic coated car? How did you use the water spot remover? Relatively clean car. Spray on. Let it sit for a little while on shade. It can sit awhile as long as it doesn't evaporate or dry out. The. Wipe with a little agitation. CarPro spotless is the same thing but that's what I usually use actually.
      I have removed pretty nasty stuff with that.
      If you have isolated spots of spots.ypincan use a light polish or in extreme case compound. Work by hand each spot and that tends to work. In a more extreme case use a polisher. In a more extreme case you wet sand.

      Did you not like the music? Or like it? It's such a tough thing. Because so many people are liking the last three videos like this music. Like specifically commenting they followed because of the music and intros lol. So I've been doing more of it and the videos keep going kinda viral!
      Definitely appreciate the feedback tho!!! Thank you for the artist comment 😃😃

      @@STATUSDETAIL I usually like the music. The Whitney Houston techno mix was not great to my ears. But you’re right you do need to consider what appeals to most of your audience. I would just encourage you to define your brand and style and be consistent. It’s early days so you have time to do that. Look at Doug de Muro. His videos are bare bones and he’s the most popular channel. Consistency.

      @@juandanzilo9324 agreed and I can see how that part of the mix could be hard to take lol.

    Ask Matt Mormon at Obsessed Garage about his new Porche’s piss poor paint. Sad.

    That would be tough to buy such an expensive car and have to do a paint correction right off the bat. You would think they would have these cars paint corrected at the dealer before they are sold considering the cost of pretty much every Porsche.

      Check out my other videos. This is very normal and the dealership might pay for it but you don't want a dealership doing your paint condition. Get a detailer with more experience.

    I'll tell you how them scratches got underneath the ppf. the employees get paid by the hour and they have no incentive to care about the car.

    These type of cars don’t need stickers, It makes them look tacky.

      I think I agree If I had a GT3rs or a GT4RS I would honestly be bad everything sticker wise.
      I would probably run the sticker on the back however that just says GT4RS or GT3RS just on the back.
