I’ve received phone calls from the „Chinese embassy“ multiple times and I always told them to f* off, I am not Chinese. But I can understand that it could be quite intimidating for Chinese students who are taught to be fearful of the authority.
There’s a special place in hell for anyone who would terrify people like this for money. Those poor parents and loved ones who truly believed their relative was kidnapped.
