Absolutely beautiful and stunning photography. Although I think I would have hid my head under a pillow and hug the cats all the way across. Don't do heights that well. Great job though.
I don't think I've ever seen Trevor basin so quiet ...its normally heaving with boats...went past on my bike today. The pub just over the aqueduct in trevor is the Thomas Telford pub run by two good friends of mine Rob n Sarah. Busy in summer with some fine ales and bloody good food (Rob is the chef)
awesome journey.. peacefull and quiet and an ideal day to be on the viaduct. I've walked across it a few times and have been down the bank (dodgy) to the river Dee to look up at the Aquaduct and spot the leaks in the trough. Marvellous construction. Have alo walked across the Chirk Aqueduct to video the trains on the viaduct.
My wife and I enjoyed every minute we are watching more on utube because we are both disabled and have underlying medical problems so thankyou take care you and the cats
I love the way you show summer cruising when it's winter here, to see the sun is a reminder of what we can look forward to 👍. PS I hope you are keeping safe and well with the current covid crisis.
Thank you for sharing your adventures! That view is spectacular, so clear, and love all the Summer greenery. The platform you stand on being so far above the tiny trough wall, the sheer drop off, and then those flapping noises didn't add any tension at all, haha.
One of my favourite stretches of canal. Lovely video although I still get a queasy feeling on the aqueduct even at this distance. Thank you for posting. All best wishes, Nick
Nice diagram of the journey at the video’s start. The Aura of Greatness is probably the Spirit of someone very close to you who stays nearby. Nice trip! 🍀
I didn't realize how long it took to go over the aqueduct. I timed it at 15 minutes. It seems most boaters speed up their filming when they cross over. Thanks for this view. When I saw the aura I just assumed it was a guardian angel looking over you. Best to you, Jane, Philadelphia
Excellent. Wonderful to cross the aqueduct with you. Mixed with a bit of sadness for us as we have had to cancel our trip this year in September. Looking forward to your next vlogs.
I was laughing out loudly when I saw that squirrel! I write a computer game about narrowboating. That includes a task called "Squirrel Hunt". And one squirrel sits exactly on the virtual counterpart of that bridge near Trevor. About that white spot in the shadow. That one just came from the guardian angel on duty on the pontcysyllte. IIRC Michael is on the morning shift.
I was puzzled by the pale shadowing as well, maybe it was your guardian angel? It did occur to me that one would only have to slip over on the stern deck the wrong way and well . . . 😬. I suppose the cats just slept happily through it all. 😊
Simply breaktaking. What's the procedure on the long narrow bits as a solo boater? If you met someone coming the other way would one have to reverse up?
@@NarrowboatJourneys That would, of course, be the logical thing to do. :) I'm just amazed at the length of the narrow sections, from what I can see from other UA-cam videos. Not for beginners lol
Definitely your aura of greatness!
It’s your Guardian Angel.
Well im not a bit surprised to see your lovely white Aura. .This was an exceptional vlog..The aqueduct is phenominal...really exceptional thank you
Thank you. I was so lucky with the weather that day. Quite an experience.

thank you so very much, you bring beauty and peacefulness into this hectic world! thank you sharing such beauty!!

Brilliant! Thanks
So beautiful Phil, thank you, a real pleasure to watch and forget the worries of the world for 20 minutes or s, Thank you and take care
Really beautiful - thanks so much for that, and the UFO's were a nice touch, thanks for the laughs.
ufo's are always a nice touch
Thanks Phil. Early mornings are clearly the best time to move. I'll keep that in mind.
Definitely. Or very late evening/night. Of course, then you might struggle to find a mooring spot?

Spectacular journey that I never tire off. Many thanks for a lovely piece of film. Aura of greatness - what else could it be ?
That is insanely cool. Also crazy to have drive a boat that high up.
Great trip, thanks Phil. Perfect spot to moor up at the end there, with the views and the dry, golden fields.
Great vlog. Such wonderful views. Thanks Phil.
Some say, you're bathing in a light of your own genius 😉
That's what I choose to think. ;-)
That was wonderful! Thank you

Thank you Phil, that was just what was needed.

Thank you. The delay is quite a good thing really.

Thanks Phil loved the filming especially the shadows of the boat, beautiful. Take care, keep safe. Alan
Thank you. Sunny weather helped. It rained on the way back.

Great scenery and very interesting crossing the aqueduct
Great video. Thoroughly enjoyed the real time crossing.
Thank you again for the video, beautiful scenery
Great video. Keep well and stay safe.
Really nice 'still' shots of the aqueduct and loved the shadows as you crossed - great timing. Stay safe Phil

Thank you. It took about 8.5 mins to cross over.
Your Aura Of Greatness is called Heiligenschein and caused either by light passing through dew on the grass, or by your Aura Of Greatness.
Aura of Greatness it is then! ;-)

You'll get there.
Actually this is a wonderful vlog!.. I guess I think they all are!....lol😹
Thank you! 😃
Very clever bit of engineering and it looks good , I enjoyed that Phil .. but I think I'll pass on the offer of Waterskiing across , ? LOL
At 01.28 I see a Wind in the Willows moment

I think there's a squirrel crossing a bridge in a forthcoming video as well...
It seems that some of the hire boats are a menace.
They can be, but most are ok.
So glad you real timed aqueduct crossing. When did you have your first siting of the ’Murgons’.
Thank you. Many years ago...
I was puzzled by the pale shadowing as well, maybe it was your guardian angel? It did occur to me that one would only have to slip over on the stern deck the wrong way and well . . . 😬. I suppose the cats just slept happily through it all. 😊
A few people have jumped from there! :-(
Oh no, that's really sad. Bless them.
Simply breaktaking. What's the procedure on the long narrow bits as a solo boater? If you met someone coming the other way would one have to reverse up?
I suppose it would be the boat closest to the wider part of the canal that should reverse?
@@NarrowboatJourneys That would, of course, be the logical thing to do. :) I'm just amazed at the length of the narrow sections, from what I can see from other UA-cam videos. Not for beginners lol
Long narrow stretches. It was ok 20 years ago. Busy then but not as crazy as it is now.
Isn't this the site that the Two Fat Ladies floated on in an episode? Beautiful.
Probably, I don't know?
what were those 4 flying saucer things I just saw on this video?
The Murgons! They make regular appearances.
I'd love to do this in a kayak one day. What if someone is coming the other way, or do they have like a traffic light at each end?
No, you just have to look ahead to see if anyone is crossing and wait for them. I expect there are instances of "canal rage" there at times!
' Haloed Be Thy Name ' haha. I keep meaning to ask, are one of your bikes electric?
One of them is but I'm not sure if it still works?
Hi Phil, how are you holding up in the current craziness?
All fine here so far thanks...
How do they keep one boat from starting at one end at the same time a 2nd boat starts at the other end? Do they have traffic lights?
That sort of thing happens regularly. Probably lots of arguments as well. That's why I crossed over so early in the morning.
@@NarrowboatJourneys Thanks.
Supposedly haunted from suicides...I myself experienced something on a lone nocturnal crossing in winter.
Yes, there have been a few who have jumped off. :-(
What happened?
Phil...you are no1 :)
Thank you. I wish UA-cam felt the same way.
i look at your chanel again, again and again, its very good chanel
LOL @ 11:00
The Murgons! ;-)
10:58
UFOs !!!
Murgons!
I am glad some one else saw them , I nearly rang up the armed forces ?lol
The aura is from the UFOs...
where the ufo's edited in? @ 11 Mins ?
They were.
