The Llangollen Canal is remarkable, set in beautiful welsh countryside. I visited it recently and walked it from Llangollen Town to Horseshoe Falls, also walked part of it towards Chirk aqueduct /viaduct. The canal boat people are really very friendly.
Hello Brian, apologies for the late reply. I think the section of canal you referred to from Llangollen to Horseshoe Falls is the last section of the canal isn't it? Is there an hotel at the end of the canal? If so, we stayed there many years ago and enjoyed the same walk you described! Thanks for watching the video Brian and for taking the time to write in. All the best VwW
Hi Keith, apologies for the late reply.....fortunately I wasn't actually steering the narrowboat. I was on the bank filming my friend in action! He makes it look easy but even with bow thrusters, turning Endeavour in such a tight space was very tricky. Thanks for watching the video and for writing in. All the best, VwW
Hello Emersom, really pleased you enjoyed the video. We had a great time on the canal and I love messing about with my cameras so this was the perfect opportunity to get out there and play! Thanks for your positive comments, VwW
Hello Roxanne, thanks for watching and sending in a comment. That was our first canal holiday and we really enjoyed it. Travelling by narrowboat forces you to relax!
Nicely done video. The bow thruster makes life easier. 😊 We just finished two glorious weeks on the four counties ring having done the Llangollen a couple of years before and looking forward to more canal trips.
LOL - I think it was on the Llangollen Canal that after feeding the ducks some leftover crusts of bread, without thinking - I threw the last little bit on top of the boat as the ducks had swum away... The following morning my Dad was rudely awoken by the sound of ducks waddling all over the roof where he was sleeping! ;)
Hi, I am from India. What a quite boat trip. Amazing. Surprised to see the technics used in Panama channel. Was this in usage prior to that. By the way where is this place
Hello Vivek, great to hear from you! I think your comment is my first "Hello from India" ! Thank you for taking the time and trouble to write in. Glad you enjoyed the video.....VwW
We live near Hurleston and sometimes walk along the canal there, and have recently cycled the towpath between Chirk and Llangollen. It's great to see it all again. We'll be back! I will share your video on Facebook.
Thanks again Carla! We haven't been on a narrowboat since our Llangollen Canal holiday (some friends of ours owned a part share in 'Endeavour' which they've since sold) although we did stay in a cottage near the Oxford Canal a couple of years ago and walked the canal towpath. Nothing quite beats the gentle narrowboat experience though!
Hello Trevor, thanks for your positive comments! I use 2 cameras, a Panasonic HDC SD700 and a Panasonic GH3. Some shots were taken using a tripod but most were hand held. Both cameras have image stabilisation which is why the shots are fairly steady. Cheers, VwW

Beautiful footage , from my experience I think Ellesmere must be the friendliest town in England .
Hi VwW,I cannot believe that we have also been on the Llangollen (twice) like you!! the coincidences keep coming!!! Cheers, John

Also, have you gone on to Llangollen? You'll notice a distinct lack of locks!

What's it like to live on such a boat? Is it comfortable? Is it expensive? Is it good for a working man?
Very nice photography and editing. Suits the slow pace of the canal perfectly! What equipment were you using to get the steady, smooth shots?
