I love Boston 12 for track training and i'm very interested in trying Endorphine Speed in the next sales!
Really useful vid. I've had endorphin speed 1,2 and 3s. If I do an autumn marathon, I can easily see me using that for training. 5k and 10k training this summer though, might give the bostons a whirl.
I rarely talk about the durability of shoes but I had the Speed 1 and two pair of Speed 2s and the PR PB being a PEBA based foam reduces the durability too much for me. After 650 Ks/400 miles got so squishy that my knees started hurting. About 650 Ks on my Bostons now and they still feel brand new. I feel like for a cheaper price with the Boston you're buying a shoe that lasts twice as long.
We have it good these days. both of these shoes are great
I’ve got the speed 3 and Boston. I found the Boston really hard until you get 20-30 miles to soften the foam. I also find I get a bit of a blister on my right foot with the Boston.
Speed 3 wins for me, did my first marathon in it and felt super comfortable and can get some pace out of it when you want to!
Great Comparison video Nick. I am the same as you, I get forefoot pain if i run in the Speed 4 for over 1 hour. but apart from that it is such an incredible shoe
Speed 4 is kinder to heel strikers, but both feel nice for my mid/fore foot strike.
I have both and use the Boston 12s for 10k races and speed workouts. I use the Enorphin 4 in my rotation with New Balance Rebel V4 for daily workouts. Love al 3 of them
for 10k better boston 12 or Rebel V4 ?
@@michaelichsanprado9675Honestly, I would just as fast in either one. I "feel" faster" and more comfy if I am going all out in a 10K with the Boston 12's. BTW: I am 59, been running for about 48 years and my time is usually about 42-44 minutes for a 10K.

Have both. Love both. Strange to say, but I grab one or the other pretty much strictly based on mood. : )

Speed 3 fantastic, upgrade to 4 soon as discounts appearing. Fewer discounts in Thailand for Boston 12. Great video.
I love the Boston 12's once they are on but man, the upper is fussy. It takes me a couple of minutes to get them laced properly and often I need to stop and readjust the laces once after starting out on my run.
Nick is spot on. Love the Boston 12, I wish they would just add a slight amount of padding to the tongue just to stop the lace pressure. Otherwise, fantastic shoe even with the fussy upper and it's always on discount somewhere.
I buy 2mm sticky backed foam from a craft store, you can use it on tongues to alleviate pressure, or on heels to stop slipping, or change a 10mm drop to a 8mm drop, very useful stuff, weighs practically nothing.
Nick how the 2 compare with Puma Nitro Elite 2? I am tempted to try the Puma as a daily trainer as after enjoying several Speed 2, I did not like Speed 3. Cheers
The Puma Deviate 2 would be a better comparison...which is also an awesome shoe (although I wish it had a bit more rocker action)

I’m very curious how the future ASICS Magic Speed 4 and maybe the Nike Zoom Fly 6 will fair compared to those two.
Or get both so you can rotate. One for faster runs one for longer mixed runs. But don't go crazy like me get two pairs of shoes for every possible kind of runs.

ES4 has lost its way… Saucony have daily trainers, bring back the “Speed”. Also couldn’t get along with the ES4 due to the tapered toe box. Much prefer the B12, but also the Tyr Speedworks - genuine contender in this category!
Boston 13 should be on the near horizon no?
Yeah, this was a good video, but as the Boston is about to be updated (whilst the Speed was recently updated), it would have been useful to mention this difference in the shoes' launch cycles.
How are the toe boxes. Endorphin Speed 2 killed my toes.
I have the Speed 3's and Boston 12's.... I was surprised at how roomy the Boston toe box is. I love mine.
Go half size up in the speed 2

The boston is 10x more responsive and the the upper is fine.
love my Bostons, but the upper improves incredibly with lock laces or similar elastic options.
