- Saucony Endorphin Pro 4 running shoe review - first run & first impressions. Today we are looking at our second carbon plated go faster running shoe of the year, Saucony’s new Endorphin Pro 4! I was a big fan of the previous version, the Endorphin Pro 3, but it looks like Saucony have made a lot of changes this time around and it’s pretty much a brand new running shoe from the ground up. I’ve got my fingers tightly crossed that they still perform well on today’s run, so let’s dive into the video and find out.

Great review, you nailed it again - they aren't the fastest / most aggressive super-shoe I've tried, but they make up for it in stability & comfort over the marathon distance, which is perfect for my big weird over-pronating feet! They got me a 9 minute PB in Brighton last weekend and I'll be using them again for London next weekend in the hope of doing it again!

Interesting. I agree on the upper. But compared to the 3s the 4s feel much less aggressive both in terms of the rocker and the springiness to me
That’s great because I started looking today and so far I haven’t found any deals on version three so that’s the case I was gonna buy them I would probably just go with 4

Lloyd, any chance you could do a pack review on larger bags, 16-30litre etc? I know they might be on larger races than you enter but would be great to know.
If I could only watch one UA-cam channel it would have to be Run4Adventure. I have no intention of buying this shoe anytime soon, but still love the videos.

I know lots of people love these but I had a pair of the V.1 which didn't work for me so missed out V.2 and went for V. 3 and, again, I got nothing out of them. Will be giving V.4 a miss, I bought the Asics Metaspeed Sky Paris and they are possibly the best carbon plated race shoe available now, only the AF£ gets close in my opinion.
Come on Loyd, you need to tell us which brand those retrofit white boa laces are from. They look really interesting
Great review! The only issue I have with the 4 laces are too long and stretchy besides that it is not the lightest or the fastest but the comfort and stability make this a great shoe for long steady runs.
I personally think it’s a bit of over kill for a long steady run! You really don’t need a carbon plate in the midsole for steady recovery runs? The Endorphin Pro 4 is all about quick sessions or racing, it’s a performance running shoe. Surely £230 is a lot of money to spend on a shoe your just going to use for steady running 🤔
Just got mine 2 days ago. I definitely agree that the laces are trash. Doing a marathon tomorrow and changed the laces😊

@@Run4Adventure maybe my terminology was off. In the USA paid $187.50 after 15% off Saucony email sign up discount. I never use a plated shoe for a recovery run usually go with the Asics Gel Nimbus 25 and sometimes the Superblast if my legs are feeling fresh. As an older slower runner, 8 min/mile Marathon pace, a Marathon is a long steady run for me 🤣
I think a cool idea for an episode would be if you pulled out the insoles and compared them size-wize.
So we can see the fit of the different shoes and toe boxes.
You must have a ton of shoes that we could compare.
Of course, on the topic... What about doing some reviews of insoles? Are they a cheap way to put life back into a pair of running shoes or are they bandaid? Any that you like?
I’m not a fan of putting aftermarket insoles in our running shoes, it tends not to work that well. Obviously the insoles that come with the shoes are designed to fit that specific shoe. Every pair of running shoes is a different width and shape in the toe, the midfoot and the heel so it’s hard to get a pair of generic insoles to fit right 🤔
Just found out your channel 5 days ago and I've been watching most of your videos since then.
Need a help. Should I get the Peregrine 13 or Trabuco 12 or NB Tierro. Confused among them. Not gonna use it for running just to climb and hike. They cost almost similar in my country.
Really glad you’ve found us and you’re enjoying the content! I’m not sure what you mean by climbing? If it’s going to be used for hiking, I’d go for the HIERRO v8. It’s a very comfortable shoe to wear and would be nice to hike in 👍

These are nothing like the 3's imo, hardly any give back.
The upper bunches up in the front and I have big feet, not a fan of the slipper upper neither.
Have had Pro 1. 2. 3 and now 4 and on landing in the forefoot it feels more like version one.
They roll well but you have to put quite a bit of effort into them.
No real break in, they are just rather firmish.
All I wanted was the Pro 3 with a better outsole and upper.
I get heal slippage in the right shoe no matter how I tie it, gonna try two sided tape and some material to try and stop it.
I got them $60 CDN off at least.
They are a nice threshold shoe, that is all I'm going to use them for I think, def not taking them for a full marathon.
Disappointing.
Not worth the price, end of story. Good joke, Saucony. I might pick 'em up if they ever drop below $100 like the Pro 1&2 eventually did.
But what about compared to other carbon plated racers? I would have thought these were at the lower end of that spectrum.
The biggest joke is Alphafly 3 for 300.
