Wow! I just broke 2 ball joint presses! Trying to take off the driver's bottom ball joint. On a 2006 Ram 2500 4x4, I just bought a Makita corldless 1,200 lbs of unbolting power and it didnt even move, so now I think I broke the impact, but its new so its still under warranty.
I used the small piece that you used for the top joint, got fused to the ball joint - having a really hard time getting that piece off the joint ! Thinking use the large one first, get the joint moving - then move to using that small piece to finish it off.
@@chrisdavis9556You dont play around you do what you have to do which ball joint press can you use for Ford 250-550 and Dodge 2500-5500 i have check Snapon or OTC Matco
I spent $1200.00 on the new matco press there is a video of it on youtube. The thing I hate with the normal press is I had to modify alot of my adaptors to fit the rams which sucks
Do you usually get away with not having to replace the front axle shaft seals inside the axle tubes? My luck, I will get mine all back together only to see gear lube leaking out the axle.
Even if they're getting replaced I would still get fired for doing that it's a major safety hazard and that's from a guy who thinks sending trucks 30 feet off Dunes is fun...
I did mine like you did yours One side has negative camber alot now Old ball joints are not adjustable and were exact same kind as new ones Why is this?
Used this exact same procedure on about a dozen Ram 2500. Doesn't work if you're from the Northeast obviously. Each time I've tried it I've ended up pushing the ball though the top of the joints housing.
Actually I I have worked on trucks that came from up North and yeah I had to rebuild the entire truck so if that was the attempt at an insult sorry you failed
What is the name of your business? i cant understand what you say in the beginning. And maybe a phone number. I may want to pay you to replace my ball joints. thanks.
Wow! Thanks for this. You make it way simpler than others.
Thank you for posting this video. Saved me lots of time & money!
You are very welcome

Thankyou excellent video
Yes it is . And you can rent the ball joint press from O'Reilly's but if you don't want to return it you can just keep it same price.
Now thats how you do a video in and out Perfect Great job Bro im from West Dallas.
Thanks man I'm gonna do a new video with the new matco ball joint press next weekend.

Great video! Anyone by chance know the ball joint spacer kit # w/the mini-spacer and large beveled spacer?
I had to heat them up with the torch and they slowly popped out with tool pressing on them.

Kelly Snapp as long as they are not leaking before hand. If you do you must be able to re align the front ring and pinion.
great video!!! thanks for posting. using video on install now. lol put a bungy strap on that brake caliper!!!
Lol I replaced them
Hey man did you ever make a video of that Matco ball joint press I just ordered mine and it’s on backorder TIL the end of the year
No I will try to asap
Where did you get the ball joint press is there a certain kind to get? Would the harbor freight 4wd press kit work on these dodge 2500 diesel trucks?
Did it work? About to pull the trigger as well.
hanging the brake caliper from the damn hose! come on guys!! SMH
i didnt show but yes we replaced all the brakes on the truck including hoses due to old age.
That's not old my 88 chevy is old

I will be making a video next month I got the new macto ball joint press for the 2500 up trucks it is awesome
Now do one for a 2016 up HD Ram...
I just ordered the same press.
Bought mine at oriellys and the adapters at harbor freight
Appreciate that.... is it the harbor freight adapter kit that actually has the shaved/wedge styled adapter?
Awesome shit
What's the name of the press kit or #
Do you happen to have the part numbers of the tools you used?
AutoZone has the 23 piece press kit
I did mine like you did yours
One side has negative camber alot now
Old ball joints are not adjustable and were exact same kind as new ones
Why is this?
If you have negative camber you need to get a positive camber upper ball joint they do make them.
It would make better sense to show the set up than the frigging impact tighting...
Can this method be used for 2018 dodge 2500
for the most part it should

How many foot pounds is that impact gun
800
Put a bigger pulley on your compressor and she'll hit harder...
What was your tool make and model number?
It was the one you get at O'Reilly
I live in snow country...It doesn't work so simple here lol.
Yea buddy! Minnesota iron belt here and the extra hours dealing with rusty parts...... Squirrel piss, lots of heat and a BFH!!! We'll get er.....
Ever work on a truck in the rust belt? Southern mechanics could never work up north without being retrained.
Actually I I have worked on trucks that came from up North and yeah I had to rebuild the entire truck so if that was the attempt at an insult sorry you failed
