    A = 2.1m (7'), B = 2.4m (8'), C = 2.7m (9'), D = 3.0m (10')
    Rod on Amazon: geni.us/ArDzbGR
    Catching a few fish (including a Lord Trout) on my local river with my 7' (2.1m) back-up fly rod.
    At the time of this video upload the rod is cheaper on Amazon (has 30% off).
    The telescopic fishing rod is not an easy rod to use since the stiffness of it is quite unforgiving and it is harder to 'feel' through the rod what the fly line is doing.
    Consequently there are a few negative reviews on Amazon. However, if you accept that it has a fast action (as described) and use it accordingly with a faster than normal casting motion it will handle fine and catch fish (as demonstrated in this video).
    Thanks for watching and best of luck when you're next out fishing.
    (apologies for the mild swearing when I hooked the Lord Trout)

      100% - it really bugs me when I see people carrying fish away from the river as half the time they'll just be shown to the wife then fed to a dog.
      I'd love to see the whole river / fishing club have a catch and release policy but I guess that's up to the individual to decide on.

      It was certainly an anomaly for this river so it was a pleasure to catch on that trip.

    Just ordered a face vail that you reviewed 6 years ago ,just started shooting again, bought a HW97K, and then a AGT Vixen, and then won £600 worth of Arken Zulus night vision scope in a competition hope you are well 😊

      It sounds like you have a couple of good rifles there and to win a night vision scope is awesome.
      The HW97K is one of the models I was looking at when deciding whether to sell my FAC FX Indy air rifle in favor of a springer but since the money I'd get back for the FAC air rifle would be negligible I decided against the plan.
      However, in any sort of SHTF situation a springer will be worth it's weight in gold.
      I'm well and spending most of my spare time in the garden - it would be good to meet up again at some point and if you're ever unfortunate enough to head up to the grim North feel free to call in with your massive truck any time brother.

    Trim the hackle under the wing it will stop the fly spinning 😊tight lines

      @ThousandYardStare  Місяць тому

      I sometimes cut the lower part of the hackle to ensure that the winged flies sit straight on the water but they still spin, lol
      Cutting the wings down helps a bit on the big mayfly patterns but every cast twists the line a little.
      Outside of using the big mayflies the other dry flies I use have wings the same height as the hackle and they cast no problem - often I find that using a decent size grey wulff (especially in fast moving water) will work as well as a mayfly and definitely casts better.

      I am editing it now and it will be live today. Then I will make a short video to be part of an Amazon review.

    Nice fishing! How is your pond doing? Love your "PimpMy filter" Just found this chanel of yours. Il better SUB here to then =)

      The pond is doing great and the water is clearer this year than in the last 15+ years. If I can coerce someone to fish all the carp and the massive sturgeon out for me it would be crystal clear again.
      Thanks for the sub and I'm glad you enjoy the videos.
