I really like heated apparel since it allows me to stay warm while being stationary for long periods of time. I've got a nation of outdoor gear for shooting / fishing which I haven't really got into reviewing for this channel (maybe one day....) since choosing good standard (non-heated) clothing is quite easy once you know what materials and manufacturers to look for. I n opposition to that, the market for heated clothing is somewhat of a minefield with many of the offerings being poor value at best but some being good value. The GOKOSY heated jacket is effective as an artificial down (unheated) coat but when the heating elements are turned on it elevates it to something worthy of serious consideration - this could literally be a life saver, especially over the Winter period in the UK and US since all it takes for a long cold wait in a traffic jam is some penarse who doesn't know how to drive in the snow to cause a multiple car pile-up on a motorway / freeway. Alternately the heated coat and gloves are great for every day use and especially effective for people who need to stand or sit still for a long time (e.g. watching outdoor sports, Nature photography) or for people on a diet which has no meat or dairy who don't have any natural resilience to the cold due to their un-natural chemical laced mess of a 'diet'. Sadly most people aren't prepared for any sort of cold weather so having some sort of quality outdoor clothing or heated apparel can easily make the difference between being freezing cold or being comfortable. I regularly used to feel guilty being the only person in the crowd watching football and being warm and happy but now I feel no guilt. Yes, heating the body directly via a relatively small power source is very efficient so in this time of crazy power prices it is a sensible option. It would be great for me to use on a night since I like a cold house but unfortunately everyone else likes a warm house so if I wore this around the house I'd cook.

I'm like you in not feeling the cold. I m one of those weird people who have only just stopped wearing my shorts to work in a warehouse 😊
For sure, man - I have to be sitting still for hours in really cold conditions before I feel like I need to get warmed up by the fire. However, I do have a small gas heater for the cabin I work from so recently I've been using that to keep the chill off while I'm working on the computer.
I love watching your reviews as you always bend over backwards to get the absolute maximum out of it, but this one went t*ts up (or out at least) really quickly! ;-)
Gave me a bit of a scare when you dropped your drawers. Thanks for keeping your undies on!! The gloves might really come in handy for someone clearing snow in frigid temperatures. And I would be treating the jacket like a car’s seat-warmer with turning it on for a short time & then off again. Is this jacket hand washable? If it was treated with the Nikwax products (wash & treatment) it could be extremely helpful in drizzly weather or snow! This could be more helpful to frail folks and children who don’t have the reserves to burn when they are out in the cold. But sitting still in a car (or as you said, standing outside) this seems a good idea!
The jacket is machine washable and using Nikwax is a great idea. I've got a big bottle of that which I use on my outdoor gear. I use Nikwax instead of Greenland Wax for my Fjallraven smock and it works perfectly - way easier than farting about with a block of wax.
I've only used this for short sessions but judging by how much capacity the batter has and how many heat zones it has I'd expect around 2-3 hours from it at full power with extended times at lower temperature settings. My other heated coat has a similar amount of heat zones and I generally use a 10,000 mAh battery on that as opposed to the 5000 mAh battery for this jacket so that's what I'm basing the reduced estimate on. There may be better information online and although the Gokosy website states 4 hours on high I'd say that was optimistic based on my experience of previous heated jackets.

how's battery life ? did you get to make any impression on that ?
