Very useful Nina, I do think it’s worth noting that the Brilliance andStayzon are both permanent and the Hero Arts and Ranger aren’t, therefore if mixed media is your main reason to use them then the Ranger and Hero Arts may get disturbed by adding anything liquid. I hope you don’t mind me mentioning that Nina xxx💕
Nina THANK YOU for this fantastic comparison video on white ink!!!! I’ve just found you four years after you made this video but it’s still applicable today. I’m fairly new to card making and I’ve been wanting to purchase white ink, but was at a loss of what to do with so many on the market and a limited budget. Thank you so very much for your comparison video!!! It’s been very helpful. I’m going to have a look at some of your other videos. Have a happy day!
Very helpful info, great to have a side by side comparison. When I originally purchased the stazon, I didn't realise it needed to be constantly reinked. Thanks Nina
Thanks for a great comparison video! It was interesting to see how in some ways they each had strengths and weaknesses - I am sure that a lot of people will find this really useful xx
I am in need of a white ink pad so this was very helpful. I actually think I will choose two pads as they work differently. Thank you for your comparison Nina.
The video is older, but that's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the effort you put in and amazing how the inks perform with different requirements. That was very helpful for me! Thank you very much ❤ and I whish you merry christmas 🎄🎅🏻 and a happy new year 🔔 2024. Greatings from the German Baltic coast 🌾🐟🐚
Thank you for going through this test for us! I’ve been wanting to get a white ink pad, and you’ve helped me make my decision. I have Staz On opaque white, but I wanted to add a white ink pad suitable for stamping. Archival Brilliance seems to be perfect. Although surprisingly it seems that each ink has its own benefits. The Distress ink creates a tonal effect for the bokeh. Thank you for your time and effort!!
Nina, thanks for sharing your research. Even your test strips look great. I am curious to see how TH Picket Fence looks when it comes out in the Distress Oxide version
They are all beautiful in their own way, so it depends on what effect you want. I love the way Picket Fence absorbs the colours below and is buildable without covering too much, and it reminds me of the bokeh in photography. Thank you! ❤️
Thanks so much for this Nina. The only white ink I have is the StazOn and I wasn't particularly happy with it but you have restored my faith in it haha.
This is brilliant! Thanks Nina! Oh that StazOn re-inking murlarky drives me nuts! 😂 I think I might have the Brilliance somewhere, I need to dig that out again! I also have the MementoLUXE wedding dress but I can't remember how well or not it works! I'll have to try it and let you know! I'm rubbish at keeping white ink pads white. I am such a messy pup! I kind of gave up on them! I might need to get the ones I have out again have a play.
Thanks for doing this demo for everyone. I had learned, also by trial and error, the Hero Arts pigment inks works best for me. I like using the Brilliance and Hero Arts with embossing powders.
Thanks Nina. The only white I have is the brilliance so it’s good to know it’s one of the better ones and I don’t need to really try a different type 💜
oh my goodness thank you ever so much for doing this video...I have been struggling to decide which white ink to buy....and now I know...Your the best Nina!! Love and Hugs from North Carolina
Oh my, thank you for this...I have only used the staz on and was severely disappointed LOL....I can see from you comparison how each one has its place. Probably the Brillance will be the next one for me! So helpful, Ms. Nina.
Nina, that’s so awesome and very very helpful and useful.......amazing the difference isn’t it? Thank you so much for going to all that trouble, I really appreciate it. And I really appreciate you too xx Mags
Thank you for sharing this! I have the staz on and have been disappointed with having to refill it constantly, too. Will be checking out the brilliance! Thanks again!
Hi Nina. I have a white (pigment) shimmer ink from Tsukineko. It actually comes with a black shimmer pad and the idea is that you first stamp the black and when it is dry you stamp the white over it at a slight "off centre" to create a ghost effect. I've not tried stenciling with it, but it stamps great - even alone. But I am grateful for this test you've done because I was actually thinking of investing in a white Distress Ink for the purpose of doing this back ground of yours. Now I know not to. The problem is that I've had a quick look and I cannot get the StayzOn anywhere in SA and importing from overseas is not an option due to the shipping costs. I have also never heard of the Hero Arts ink, so I will have to speak to the lady at my favourite craft shop and get her input about this. She does stock StazOn, just not the white - maybe she can do me a favour and order one just for me. Thanks for the helpful experiments and tests you do. Your video's are really worth watching. xx
Thank you for evaluating these 4 inks, Nina. I've heard good things (on UA-cam) about Yeti white ink from Lawn Fawn. I bought it for about $7.49 plus shipping. I haven't used it yet. I like to use acrylic paint instead of ink when I want to stamp in white. I have not found a white ink that's opaque enough.
I haven’t heard of that ink. A good white ink is a must for me as how ever careful I am with paint, some of it always seeps under the stencil and I want that nice crisp outline that only an ink provides.
thanks Nina for the comparison,,,I will keep the Staz On for black card.I haven't tried the Distress white but like all of their colours you have to hold the stamp down a bit longer for the ink to grab when stamping
Thank you for going to the trouble and expense! I have only used stazon and I do get annoyed that I have to re-ink every time I use it, but you have certainly shown its benefits! However since watching this, I have now invested in some Brilliance as well.
Thanks Nina, a great and thorough comparison. I have Brilliance and thought it was more like moonlight on Black Cardstock. I will try the Staz-On White for a really bright white, if the pigment can be built up with repeated application. Stamping can be repeated (with a Misti or a stamp positioner). I don't have a StazOn white, only black. For stamping on a dark cardstock and getting a really white image, can't beat stamping with a craft white (I use Stampin Up) and embossing with a white opaque powder. If not embossing, I think Stampin Up craft white is similar to Brilliance. I prefer Brilliance over Stampin Up craft white for just stamping, since it dries faster and is less likely to smear. Also Brillance will stamp on glossy surfaces and the craft ink will not.
Excellent video, definitely will refer back to, I'm sure, many times in the future! I do see the benefits of owning different brands, some permanent, some water based dye inks. But I don't own Staz On and will have to buy some, love it's brightness!, I'm curious about their other colors now!!! Thank you for doing videos like this! Hugs, Debra
Thank you, Nina, this was very helpful! I had some weird white ink pad, didn´t pay much for it. It isn´t great, I didn´t expect much of it either. After the bokeh video I read the comments, too. I wasn´t able to get the Hero arts, either, but I bought the Brilliance and I really like it! I´m happy with my choice. When my hands are better I´ll really put it to the test...wait..I don´t have to, because you already did it, lol! Tfs, hugs, Fia
Thank you so much....very helpful...and just a tidbit of information...All distress inks are transparent, that is why it doesn't work...I actually went to the ranger website to ask if they were going to put out a distress oxide in white and they said no that the oxide did not work well with the white, and even now in 2022 with the new archival ink launch they still have not put out a White...but I will definitely try your suggestions...you put them through a rigorous test and I love your results....

Very interesting Nina, I only have one white mini ink pad and its a chalk ink Dew Drop it's called Versa Magic... Cloud white made by Tsukineko same as the VersaMark and Versafine pads. Thanks Nina this is very helpful. I forget sometimes what a difference a product can make in a project. I tend to think it is user error when things don't work as well as I would like them to.
Stazon ink is made or formulated to be stick and hold on to surface as it is made for stamping on metal, glass, slick coated papers. Because it is a fast drying that also has a solid pigment mixed into the white makes the need to reink everytime.
Distress Inks are dye, but I do love that depth you got with the circles and especially when they overlap. You might have had better luck with the Distress Oxide as it contains pigment ink. Great test, helps a lot. Thanks.
Two thoughts - I use a workable fixative - 2 coats - to set the distress ink BEFORE I use any white. Distress is water reactive so it will ALWAYS wick up into any product that contains water, like picket fence. That’s the purpose of distress ink. Secondly, I “stamp” white ink off onto a glass or acrylic surface and work from that surface instead of my ink pad which stops contamination of the white pad. TFS.
I have been disappointed in my Brilliance Moonlight white ink. It seems to stamp well on black cardstock, but it does not show well at on a colored background. I will have to keep my eye out for the Hero Arts ink. For now, when I want to stamp in white ink, I use my white gesso. I get the white with the added bonus of a bit of texture!
Thanks for this Nina.I only looked at the white Stazon last week, but the fact you needed to keep re inking put me off buying.I think for ease the Archival brilliance maybe the one I need 😊 x
Very useful Nina, I do think it’s worth noting that the Brilliance andStayzon are both permanent and the Hero Arts and Ranger aren’t, therefore if mixed media is your main reason to use them then the Ranger and Hero Arts may get disturbed by adding anything liquid. That is really helpful to know too. Thank you for that. I think that justifies me buying both Brilliance and Hero Arts! haha :-) xx
Thank you so much this is very important to me!
That's a great point!
That was super helpful, Nina. You have saved me both time and money with this comparison. Thank you! xx
I think that this was a very worthwhile trial, Nina. It's very informative so thank you for going to all that effort. Much appreciated.
Thanks Edna. Glad you found it helpful 😊

What a fab comparison video, Nina! Thank you! Big hugs, Dee xxx
Thanks Dee, hope it was helpful. Big hugs to you too ❤️ xxx
Thank for taking the time to do a comparison test with these inks! It's great to see the differences before you buy them!
Glad you found it helpful Marilyn!
I have the Brilliance and LOVE it! Great video sharing comparison of the various choices.
Thanks for a great comparison video! It was interesting to see how in some ways they each had strengths and weaknesses - I am sure that a lot of people will find this really useful xx
I found it interesting as I was ready to write off the Stazon. They all have their uses xx
I've been looking for a bright white ink pad without success and this video has helped me tremendously!!!
That’s great to hear 🤍
I am in need of a white ink pad so this was very helpful. I actually think I will choose two pads as they work differently. Thank you for your comparison Nina.

Thanks Kez, it’s worth having a look through the comments as there are some other suggestions as well 💕

Yes, they all definitely have their benefits. The Brilliance is a great all rounder though 💜
Great job hitting all the possible applications the ink could be used for. Thanks Nina
Thanks Kim.
Absolutely helpful. I thought I had a bad batch of the Stazon when I used it, now I know how and when to use it. Thank you.
Glad this was helpful Dawn 💜
Excellent comparison! I've been using the Brilliance but wondered about the others. This is very helpful! Thanks so much!
Glad this was helpful. Brilliance was definitely the best all rounder!
Nina, thanks for sharing your research. Even your test strips look great. I am curious to see how TH Picket Fence looks when it comes out in the Distress Oxide version
Thanks for this, Nina. I've had problems I the past trying to find a decent white ink pad. Now you've given me a couple to look out for.
Bejay xx
Glad this was helpful Bejay xx

Yes, I agree 💕
Good to know! I've been looking for a good white pigment pad. Thanks, Nina!
Glad it was helpful ❤️
Thanks so much for this Nina. The only white ink I have is the StazOn and I wasn't particularly happy with it but you have restored my faith in it haha.
Glad it was helpful Lynnette. Its useful when you can see the inks like this.

The Brilliance was definitely the best all rounder 💜
Thanks Nina, frustrating when things don’t work like you’d planned. You’ve saved us all a lot of trial and error.

So glad this was helpful Diane. The Brilliance is a great all rounder, although the Stazon is fabulous on black and Kraft.
Thank you so much!!!! I've been wondering this for years.
Glad it was helpful Sybil 😊
A great comparison video Nina, now I know I need all the white ink pads for the different effects and results! You’re costing me a small fortune! 😂🤣
😂🤣 Sorry for being such a bad influence. You could narrow it down to two if you had to! 😁
Nina Ribena - oh no! I need ALL the things 🤪
Thanks for sharing this video as I was just about to buy the stazon white ink, but now I'll get the brilliance or hero arts. Thank-you
Nina, that’s so awesome and very very helpful and useful.......amazing the difference isn’t it? Thank you so much for going to all that trouble, I really appreciate it. And I really appreciate you too xx Mags
Yes, I am surprised by the results, especially the Stazon. They all have their uses. Glad this was helpful Mags xx
Good information and comparisons Nina!🧚♀️
Thanks Diana, glad it was helpful 😊
Thank you doing this comparison. It was helpful.
Thank you very much for doing these comparisons for us, I now know which I prefer. As it's archival Brilliance for me 😊
Great demonstration! Very helpful!
Thanks Debbie 😊
Thank you for sharing this! I have the staz on and have been disappointed with having to refill it constantly, too. Will be checking out the brilliance! Thanks again!
Glad this was helpful Kimarie.
Very informative Nina ..... thank you so much .... they each have a use but the limitations are evident in your trial. x
Glad it was informative Kay x
Awesome review Nina! Thanks so much! ♡
Great comparison Nina! This was what I was looking for! Thanks for sharing this usefull info! :)
Glad this was helpful Linda!
Thank You Nina for this video. Great comparisons and very helpful :-) x
I haven’t used any of these but I have used Stampin Up craft stamp pad in white. The ink is heat set …. Sort of like embossing.
I love it!

thank you so much for this nina very useful as i don’t have the funds to buy all of them. so it’s archival brilliance for me!!!!
Great decision Susan. I think its a good all rounder for sure 💜
Nina Ribena happy birthday nina xxx
Thanks so much for doing that comparison. Very helpful.
Thanks Barbara, glad it was helpful 😊
Thank you Nina , very interesting results . You are very good at doing a fair test. I'd like to know of a great white pen too.
Thanks Maria. I do want to do another comparison with my white pens and pencils.
Thanks for doing the comparison, I use the Stazon and I find I'm happy with the results I get.
I was ready to write off the Stazon so I’m pleasantly surprised.

Really useful video, Nina.
Glad it was helpful.
Thanks Nina. I use the Brilliance the most. ❤
very helpful Nina!! Thank you for sharing!!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you, I have been wondering about the best white ink to stamp on black esp now I know what I need to get.
Thnx for the heads up on this one, didn't even know there was such a thing as white ink pads. Tfs xo
They’re a great addition to your stash if you can find a good one 💜 xx
Very nice comparison. I wish you would have tried splattering with a paint brush on dark paper with the different brands. ❤
Thank you, Nina, this was very helpful! I had some weird white ink pad, didn´t pay much for it. It isn´t great, I didn´t expect much of it either. After the bokeh video I read the comments, too. Thanks for the info Karen. I think the oxide white is a complete waste of money as It doesn’t show up on anything.
Thank you for your review!
I totally agree with what you say. It really depends on what you are doing. Brilliance seems a good allrounder for mixed media. Thanks☺
Yes, they all had their strengths and weaknesses but the Brilliance was definitely the best all rounder.
Great test. So helpful.
Thanks so much Anna 💕
This is very helpful info. Thanks for the research for us. -Marsha from Texas
Literally sat trying to use my brand new cotton white stays on ink pad for the first time & how annoying! Thus finding this video for help & thank you as now I know what ink pad to buy next as unless your only doing a small amount of stamping the stays on cotton white is a pain in the .....
I agree, it’s not good for larger areas. Glad you found this helpful.
Really useful, thanks Nina x
Glad it was helpful Caroline 😃
very good info, thanks for doing the research for us!
Glad it was helpful Heidi 😊
Very interesting Nina, I only have one white mini ink pad and its a chalk ink Dew Drop it's called Versa Magic... Cloud white made by Tsukineko same as the VersaMark and Versafine pads. It seems pretty good. I will use it on the Bokeh technique when I get chance too and show the results in the group xx
I have a couple of the Versa Magic inks in other colours, grey and a brown, and I am impressed with those. It will be interesting to see how it works for Bokeh xx
Thank you for this testing Now I won't be disappointed when I buy the inks.
Glad this was helpful Ann.
This will be very helpful, thanks.
Good to hear Karenlynn 😊
This was really helpful!! Thank you
❤️
Thank you for the comparisons...i use Brutus Monroe Alabaster pigment ink...pouncing works well and the pad is nice and juicy. I may give the archival a try. Again thank you comparison videos are always helpful.
Glad you found this helpful Deborah 😊
Thanks Nina this is very helpful. I forget sometimes what a difference a product can make in a project. I tend to think it is user error when things don't work as well as I would like them to.
Its amazing how differently the products performed isn’t it 😊
Thanx Nina, I have Staz On, but will be getting the Brillance as I hate the 'hard work' with Staz On.
Stazon ink is made or formulated to be stick and hold on to surface as it is made for stamping on metal, glass, slick coated papers. Because it is a fast drying that also has a solid pigment mixed into the white makes the need to reink everytime.
So helpful. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful and thanks for watching 💕
This is a fabulous comparison tfs Nina
Thanks Maggie.
Thanks, Nina, I'm ordering the brilliance!
I find it to be a great white ink 💕
That is must helpful . Thank you.
Distress Inks are dye, but I do love that depth you got with the circles and especially when they overlap. You might have had better luck with the Distress Oxide as it contains pigment ink. Great test, helps a lot. Thanks.
Thanks Shaz 💕
Two thoughts - I use a workable fixative - 2 coats - to set the distress ink BEFORE I use any white. Distress is water reactive so it will ALWAYS wick up into any product that contains water, like picket fence. That’s the purpose of distress ink. Secondly, I “stamp” white ink off onto a glass or acrylic surface and work from that surface instead of my ink pad which stops contamination of the white pad. TFS.
Thank you. I’ll give that a try 💕
Very helpful. Thankful
Thanks Tracie!
Great comparison! Awesome Nina! xo
Thanks Deb, good to hear 💜 xo
Thanks for doing this!! I really appreciate it. =)
Very helpful!! Thanks!
Thanks Merete!
Thanks a lot, very helpful!!!
I tryed all the white inks over the years, looked no further after I discovered hero white ink.!
Echoing what everyone else has commented. Very helpful! TFS!
Thanks Sherri 💜
Very different results with the different inks. I like the distress ink bokeh on the pink tag.
Thank you for this!
Thanks for this Nina.I only looked at the white Stazon last week, but the fact you needed to keep re inking put me off buying.I think for ease the Archival brilliance maybe the one I need 😊 x
The Brilliance is definitely the best all rounder xx
Very good information!
Thanks for sharing...
Thanks Jeanne. Glad you found it helpful 😊
I tested all of the above but the Stampin Up white is the very best.
thank you, Nina! I can't remember, have you done a similar comparison with white pens? I have trouble with those, too...
I haven’t, yet, but I want to do one with white pens and pencils!
