    Thank you so, so much for creating this video! I was just shopping around for a white ink pad and it's overwhelming trying to choose the right one. You have made this task so much easier. Thanks again.

    just wanted to thank you for the comparisons. I know that was not a cheap video to make & was bummed for you that you had a majority of bumpers. I'm hoping some of them would do better if they got stamped a 2nd or 3rd time. I love Avery Elle products so I'm getting that one & I've got the silver & gold delicata pads so I'm happy to get that one for the shimmer. thanks again!

    I'm a Stampin' Up! demonstrator in the UK and you can order the White Craft Ink through your demo, if you have one, or on the SU website. When you go on the website you can choose a demonstrator. Demonstrators send out a thank you card and sometimes a small gift because they appreciate your custom. Thank you for doing the comparison, I found it really interesting. Dee Copus-Read x

    It's good to see a comparison of these all at once. The Close to my Heart white pigment ink (they actually have a true white and an off white) are pretty good too. In fact, I often reach for that one before I reach for my Hero Arts lol. Thanks for showing these!

      Question: Please...New crafter here...what is it about the Hero Arts Pigment ink that you are dissatisfied with? I've been thru 5 White Ink Comp videos, and, if I read my notes correctly, Hero Arts' Hero Hues Pigment "Unicorn" was consistently in the top 3 of those tried (Oh, F.Y.I...again, relying on my notes... regarding the 'Crafting for Almost Everyone' comparison of 1/18/18, it seems GINA K PAPER actually helped ALL of the EIGHT White Inks she tested.) This in advance for your input.

    You can just go to the Stampin' Up! website and purchase, no party and even no demonstrator if you don't want one. :-) Thanks for sharing this comparison! As a lover of white ink and a SU demo, I was very interested to see how our Craft Ink holds up to others. Keep up the great work!

    • @karentalbot4372
      @karentalbot4372 8 років тому +1

      This is true, yet if you select a demonstrator and shop through their website, instead of SU directly, isn't there a slight savings in cost, or did they do away with that? I'm happy SU came out as the winner yet I don't like the dry time. I'll have to give Avery Elle a try (SimonSaysStamp, Joann.com, scrapbook.com all sell Avery Elle items as well. If unfamiliar with Avery Elle, their products are very similar to Lawn Fawn). Hope this is helpful (love your new room :-) )

    • @KyloFeelsYourPain
      @KyloFeelsYourPain 8 років тому

      There's only a savings if the demo themselves offers some sort of promotion (like some offer free shipping for a limited time or something like that). If you spend $150+ then you get Stampin' Rewards regardless of whether you chose a demo or not. As for the dry time, I can totally see why Avery Elle would be a clear winner in that arena. I do have to use my heat tool to dry the SU Craft Ink when I use it.

    On other comparisons, I've heard Avery Elle is chalky and rubs off easily when dry. Did you notice that? Thanks for posting this on UA-cam.

    • @karentalbot4372

      I remember SU to do the same. Wonder if heat setting would help.

    • @ceciliaforester6335

      I purchased the Avery Elle because I'm new to card making and didn't yet own a white ink - and also purchased because of this demo. I recently used it and heat embossed it as is, as well as with embossing powder. Both never seemed to dry. It's chalky and smears. I kept my swatch handy for a week and it is still smearing. I thought the embossing powder would keep that from happening - but it didn't. I used Ranger's Holographic embossing powder - so don't know if that had anything to do with the results. Maybe I should've tried a plain white embossing powder (but that's not the look I was going for). So, that being said, if an ink never dries, it's useless to me. Other than this, I love Craft Test Dummies and appreciate all their hard work and comparisons - but this one is a fail. If anyone has any tips on working with the Avery Elle Pigment ink in white, please pass it along! I haven't thrown it out yet.

      @crafttestdummies  8 років тому

      Kristen K I couldn't find Gina K on Amazon and I've never seen it on a store. It was a little too obscure of a brand to include- then I would have to include another 10 smaller brands and as you can see this comparison got a little costly. $$$

    • @kristenk1995
      @kristenk1995 8 років тому +1

      sometimes it's worth it to search out quality. I knew many of these wouldn't give an opaque look just from being dye based. I agree about price too. Additionally I don't consider SU particularly easy to procure you have to jump through so many hoops and be assigned to Betty or Sally - no just send me my stuff.

    • @crafttestdummies
      @crafttestdummies  8 років тому +1

      If you know someone at Gina K who'd like to donate a stamp pad for a rematch, I'm open! However I've spent over $100 on stamp pads so far. Avery Elle is a good option if you don't like SU.

    You aren't obligated to host a party to buy Stampin Up. Just go to there website and buy. You can choose a demonstrater in your area or from any US state, so you may get a thank you card and a free catalog as long as you DON'T opt on the website not to be notified. Let a demonstrater send you there thank you. Like I'm a demonstrater and everyone who buys from me, there name goes into a hat for a monthly drawing. I just wanted you and your followers to know, no obligation to buy more than you want at anytime. And I don't ever try to sell to them, I let the products do that. THANK YOU FOR this, I myself haven't bought the stampin up white, but I will know. I've been using picket fence and my Misti to try to get a better color. TY4S,

    Thanks for doing this! So far I have found Lawn Fawn's Yeti ink to be the best of the whites but I can't wait to try Stamping ups Whisper white. May I request a similar comparison test between metallic ink pads? The best I've found is Tsukineko Delicata 4 with for metallic colors of pigment ink but I'd love to find ink with a deeper color pay off.

      Any brands to be honest. I do most of my supply shopping online as I live far from any shops. I've tried to cheap metallic ink pads, cheap as in $1.00 and Colorbox gold and silver but they stamp really light. Great for a ghosting/shadow look but that is about it.

    First great video, long over due. But...I've been stamping over 20 years and never had a Colorbox pad 'run' on me - I think you got a dud! Plus Clearsnap/Colorbox is owned by Stampin'Up so it makes no sense that the quality would be on total opposite ends of the spectrum. You should email Clearsnap they've always had great customer service, I bet they'd pop a new one in the mail for you.

    • @crafttestdummies
      @crafttestdummies  8 років тому +1

      Just because they are owned by the same parent company doesn't ensure consistent performance or quality. Take Plaid for example- they manufacture three kinds of acrylic paints, each at their own "grade" and price point.

  • @SuperFancy

    What a shame that Stampin'up doesn't sell in Spain and there is no sign they will, they have these way of selling their products that is like Tupperware or Avon and I think that is so outdated and frustrating in internet era. But, anyway, this is a wonderful thing that you have done this comparison which is as complete as interesting and helpful. By the way, you look stunning and it seems New York suits you very, very well... now that you have an "apple" a day!!!!... a big apple, that is...

      You are the sweet one and I really appreciate for your offer, that is incredible, really and so kind!, but I know the shipping cost to Spain will make it so expensive (around 16-20 dollars for any product just for Shipping costs) it is not worth it. I tell you what I really like from Stampin'up, apart from everything they have, really... I love the Gingerbread man punch, I am in love with that, in fact, most of Stampin'up punches are awesome and they seem to work marvellously as I hear the sound they make, like sharp blades, very sturdy. I have contacted an English stampin'up seller, she has a wonderful YT channel, and she says she cannot send me to Spain because it is not in her Stampin'up zone, no sellers are, apparently, able to sell in Spain.I wonder why. I keep looking around Europe so I find nice shipping costs but the price is so high. I may wait till I can buy in Spain, if anyone knows someone who already sells, please, help!

      No. You cannot stamp in white on black fabric. You may want to experiment with "lift off" ink pads from Jacquard that actually remove the dye- but that's not 100% "no fail." Good luck.

    • @crafttestdummies
      @crafttestdummies  8 років тому

      Only the dye-based ones, namely the Hero Hues Dye and the Distress Pad. The Delicata runs a but, it's mostly just a shimmer that is spread around and the image stays pretty intact. But if you want to watercolor over a white pigment pad, you can always heat emboss with clear powder over it.

    • @stampaliciousnl
      @stampaliciousnl 8 років тому

      The Picket Fence Distress ink isn't waterproof. It's actually formatted to act just like other distress inks, and is water reactive.
