    The $400 Timberwolf is a better saw than either the MS311 or the Husky 460 both of which are about $600. The Timberwolf has magnesium cases like a pro saw and is easily rebuildable or hopped up. All parts from the CS620 can be swapped onto a Timberwolf. The cs4910 with a muffler mod is more than a match for the MS271 or Husky 450 Rancher.

      @@ECHOMeansBusiness Bring the CS-4310 to the states, sell it for $450. Don't drop the cs-501p or the cs-4910 until you have a professional replacement- the cs-4920 is not going to cut it with serious users. What happened to all the Echo dealers in the PNW? I'm talking full line, stocking, servicing dealers- not HD.

      590 Timberwolves is the best saw ever

    I have experience with both. However, for my needs, I went with an ECHO 4910 - 18”. Maybe get a 20” bar if needed.

    The echo is real good to beef up, I made rubber motor mounts to stop the shaky AV springy and double spike bumper and rolling chain catcher, put rim sprocket and a lot of power mods. My 590 is good as the 620 .

    I’ve been running a Timberwolf for about 7 years now I own almost all echo equipment I’m still waiting for my leaf blower to break so I can replace it with echo but I’ve had great luck with all my echos power reliability is all excellent. I bought my timberwolf used and I’ve never had a failure of any kind I replaced the plug fuel filter and air filter as maintenance and of course replaced about 15 or so chains after they wear out I heat my home solely on firewood and so does my dad we use my saw for all the big trees and we both have little echos for the brush I’m still running original bar it’s getting worn but it’s still kicking. I love that saw the big difference is echo is high quality across the board Stihl changes in quality based on the price. If you buy an echo cs 600 p it’s the professional line 60 cc saw about the only difference in the cs 590 is it has higher compression and a higher rev from a different ignition system other than that it’s the same saw they don’t reduce quality with the non pro saws

      My next saw may be the Echo CS590. I have 2 Echo gas blowers, the 2520 and the PB 755ST. Both are great blowers! Can't go wrong with Echo! I plan on buying a Echo gas trimmer for next Spring, maybe SRM 225 or 2620.

    This isn’t a fair comparison. The cc’s of the Stihl 271 is a significantly smaller displacement to that of the cs590. A more accurate comparison would be the Echo cs590 compared with the Stihl 362. Of course the Stihl 362 retail’s at over $900, compared to the $439 a new cs590 costs equipped with a 24” bar. I’ve been a professional urban forester for thirty years and though I’ve been a “Stihl guy” for the vast majority of my career, I do believe that I bought my last Stihl a couple of years ago. I’ve been running a cs355t as my climbing saw for nearly four years now, and have nothing but good things to say. My present opinion is Echo is twice the saw Stihl is these days at half the price.

      Well you could pay less for the Timberwolf yet get more CC's and better performance than with the 271. You prefer to pay more for the brand and lose out on capability.

    The times mean exactly nothing without the same size bar especially when the bar on one side will not even go completely through the wood... That's just common sense if you bought a new bar, why not buy the same size...

    I'm in the same boat. I love my stihl saws, but my 590 gets picked up just as much. My buddies that run saws for a living are always asking how its doing. Just fine.

    The Timberwolves should of been pitted against a 310 stihl. Apple to apples.

      The 310 is $200 more. I think the comparison is in what you get for the price. The 310 is awesome but a 60cc echo timberwolf rips for $400. I've seen a few 30+ year old echos that still run like new, so I know they give stihl at least some competition.

    3:10 Timberwolf is given a huge head start 3/4 pre cut. Way less pre cut for the stihl. Watch the difference in technique on the timed comparison. They rock the echo back and forth clearing sawdust and adding leverage. Comparison was bull.

    • @m998hmmwv7
      @m998hmmwv7 Рік тому +1

      That particular cut was not being timed. Also it was the Stihl.

  • @stigmadsen
    @stigmadsen Рік тому +1

    Not a fair competition since the chain on the Stihl visibly was quite dull compared with the one equipped on the Echo chainsaw, which ran perfect . The overall quality of the Stihl chainsaws in general is still very much higher.

    • @jer3996
      @jer3996 6 місяців тому

      Its really not. I like stihl and will continue to buy them, as well as husky. That echo has a magnesium case, stihl doesn't provide anything close to that level of quality at that price point
