The extraction technique was impressive. From the hand driven gear drill used, to the flexible straw utilized for collection. I appreciate your expertise.
I really like your style, taste, and eye for detail. Not to mention how elegantly you work, or even relax. I look forward to more of this beautiful subtle cinematography from you; its like a window into something ancestral, and yet so familar.
Wow! I have a birch tree in my front yard, and I had no idea that drinking the sap was a thing. But then I live in Canada and we use the maple sap, so I shouldn't be that surprised. Nevertheless a great video, and something I must try. Thanks!
I love the way your hair in a plait is swishing/moving in the thumbnail! :) It looks just awesome! Thank you for this video also, very helpful and interesting!
I know I'm a bit late but how long would the sap stay fresh and could I store it for when the sap stops rising in the tree , love your channel ,thanks jim
Yes there are several benefits by drinking birch sap! Back in the days they used to say "drinking marrow into the bone". Birchsap contains different micronutrients that we lost in the regular drinking water because of the depleted soils. It also gives you about 15 different minerals. So with other words it's very healthy!
You carve a stick that is a bit bigger than the hole and put the stick into the hole with help of a hammer for exampel. It's important to do it correctly otherwise the tree can "bleed" and it can cause infections.
What a gem of a video. Thank you.
I think I got recommended this video because I watch your videos Bjørn Andreas 😂
Thanks for the recommend, lots of birch in Scotland
This is beautiful and calming. Please make more, if you can.
I discovered our Channel thanks to TA Outdoors. Subscribed.

So kind, thank you!
@@EiraCraftandNature No probs, it's like your plait is in a world of it's own! It's moving freely in the wind haha
What a beautiful channel, I suscribe. Greetings from Spain.
Love this way! Think I’ll try it. 💕
My friend Don used to do that, of course i helped, but we tapped a few more trees. It makes a lighter sweeter syrup than maple with more flavor.
Bjorn sent me. Nice vid, though I had no idea the sap would be so thin. It was kind of watery looking.
What does it taste like?
Thank you! Yes it's just like water in the consistency and a quite sweet taste.
I wonder if you filled up the beaker with some vodka if the tree would get drunk
I know I'm a bit late but how long would the sap stay fresh and could I store it for when the sap stops rising in the tree , love your channel ,thanks jim
Hi Jimmy, No worries. It's almost like milk, you can store it for a week or so. So of course the freezer is a good option!
At the you suppose to plug the hole back up?
That's correct, after taping the sap you plug the hole up so the tree will be protected!
(Which the video description says).
Wow
Do you just drink the birch water? any benefits?

Do you know a certain Swedish blacksmith? Your video style is very similar to his.
Interesting, not that I am aware of, which is his youtube channel?
@@EiraCraftandNature Torbjörn Åhman, is his channel ☺
The perfect woman doesn’t exis......
How do you plug the hole?
