I watched my grandmother, an Italian immigrant, make magnificent things as you do. Its good to know that this way of living and art has not been forgotten or conditioned out of humanity.
Return to a simpler life, and you will see that behind the expensive cars, the fashionable clothes, the empty celebrities, the fancy houses and the thick layers of make-up life has real meaning. Behind all the lies there is a deep well of wisdom that we can all drink from, and grow wiser, healthier and happier
I’ve just discovered your channel. I’ve been learning to knit and I’m enthralled by how people lived before with more self-reliance and less dependence on machine manufacturing and technology. I’m not sure if there’s a point in me learning to do things like sew, garden, weave or needle binding, but I’d love if these ancient crafts were brought back into modern day cultural life.
Definitely think the hat making, with such an ancient technique is worth an instructional video! As a hand crafter from way back it would be wonderful to be able to learn something new to me but knowing its an ancient woman's skill ! Please ! 😊
One of my most favorite things about Nalbinding is that you do not have to wind the yarn into ball - you can create straight from the skein. Well done on your work - they look very nice.
I have found a new technique to learn. Love the finished look for them. Love the resemblance to knitting. My hands can't do knitting - causes pain in my fingers. So this looks like a really fun technique to learn for a similar look.
Amazing video, you are brilliant! Seeing this makes me realize that this whole boho/hippie here in the US culture, and around the world, at its heart, roots, and core its actually very traditional of the old world of the ancestrial kin, and the connection to their ways. Yet many modern social normatives within that boho international community are completely opposite to the values they held. Yet not entirely. ;)
Hi Eira How inspiring you are! I watch and learn from the traditional ways which I like best of all! Will you be doing Christmas things later on I wonder? All the seasons are wonderful and I have to admit I love Christmas the most!
I think its a cool video and you really have an nice style to make videos. But because of the title i thougt its more like a tutorial you show a little bit of your knitting but as some one who dont know how to knit i didnt learn anything so i dont know in what to do with this video. May you can show more of how you startet and how you made process. And nice and creative way to say like and sub 👍
Thank you Terry for asking! I might start selling these in some way eventually, as there been many requests about them. If so I will let you know at the community page on my channel. Hopfully I can start doing that soon!
No instructions? What's the point? Old timey music and nostalgia? How does that help pass on those supposedly valued skills and connect us to our lost heritage? All you've accomplished is a photo op of yourself.
One of your best videos!
Agreed. The old ways are simply amazing.
Thanks Bjørn!
Ah HA! That's why this came across my feed. Bjorn.. great dude. Lotta love in that dudes heart. 💪🤙👍

Such skill. How long did it take you to make a hat like that?
Wishing you and all viewers a beautiful autumn!
It took me two days. But "effective time" about 8 hours.
Thanks!
Can you send instructions link.
Yes@@deborahmeeker8413 I'm planning to do a more of a instructional/tutorial video on this.
Here from ta outdoors
Nice video. :))
Nice ! Can you make me one ?
What kind of yarn was that? I've switched some of my clothing to wool, and would love to make some myself one day.
It's wool and it's not washed so therefore it's possible to link two pieces together as in the video.
Etsy? I like the hat👍
Thank you Hukfyn. The pattern is from my head.
Eira - Craft and Nature I thought so, it being your design. I just wondered if you had a store on Etsy👍
