I was sooo excited that I finally learned French braids! Turns out it looked funny because I accidentally made cornrows. Can't say I was upset about it. 😂😂
Shouldn't the amount of hair you take be proportional to the amount of hair you have? If you have a lot of hair, how are you supposed to take small pieces? Or do you mean more brading per strand?
I never knew how to braid sm told me that now this is my time to learn and this vid was the most helpful. I made two braids like yours perfectly and I showed it off to my mother, is pretty proud of me. Thank you so much Jemilah ❤❤
Thank you! I need all the help I can get. My daughter's father is Ecuadorian, and his hair is very textured, while mine is sad, volumeless, and straight. I feel too nervous to go into salons to ask them to teach me. But I'm at a loss with my daughter's hair. I want to cry sometimes 😢 I want her to go to school cute and proud of her beautiful hair. Thank your for this. Going in for round 2948849 tomorrow on my mission to learn to cornrow.
This seems so doable, but I struggle to do it on my daughter’s hair. I know it’s said that practice makes perfect, but I think it’s perfect practice makes perfect. I hope I can get someone soon here in Cincinnati to sit down with me and see where I’m struggling and guide me. I’ll keep trying. Thanks for sharing.
I understand what you are saying. It’s super hard for me to do this on someone else I’ve been trying for so long. I recently bought a mannequin to practice on
Clicked to learn to braid my own hair...keep getting distracted by different aspects of you.☺...A true test of discipline and focus...thanks for sharing💞
@JemilahAli This is not a cornrow or a french braid. These are called Dutch braids. A french braid is braided overhand and becomes flat. Great video by the way. Now I'll be able to braid my daughter's hair better than before.. Thank you
Can you do a video where you do that process a little slower. Ik you’re explaining what you’re doing but the adding hair part I’m not getting, and when I try on my hair it won’t work?
Note to self: When u add the hair be sure to grab hair from the opposite side for ex: when adding hair to the right piece, grab hair from the left side hair
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! You are an EXCELLENT TEACHER!! I WATCH VIDEOS OVER & OVER, TRYING TO UNDERSTAND EXACTLY WHAT IS WHAT BUT YOUR EXPLANATION & YOU SHOWING AS YOU ARE DOING IS WHAT IS SO HELPFUL! GOD BLESS 😊
I just try to make sure the back is pulled tight as I get to the back. I also make sure the braid is laying on my head when I’m braiding so there isn’t much slack. It definitely takes practice though. Sometimes I have to take it out and do it again.
I tried it but my hair didn’t look good it looks bad and then my hack area hair didn’t get tight it’s lose 😩😩 I need to practice on my fiancé bc I suck 😊
I found a really good tutorial for doing these braids where the lady shows you very slowly while showing you which fingers do which parts of the braid. This imo is way too fast. I've seen lots of people cornrow, but lots of people don't teach you.❤ No hate, but you can't just 'begin to braid' if you don't understand what to do with your fingers. 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
@@JemilahAli yay! That would be awesome! I'm still trying to learn so I can do my baby's (in my pfp) hair. I haven't cut his hair since he was born because I LOVE his curls. But since I don't know how to do a whole lot with hair, I just brush it, put Cantu custard, define and shine, and sometimes bed headpÀà after-party smoothing cream.
It took me the longest to learn to do this on someone and I am 100% sure it will take me another decade to learn to do it on myself lmao 😅 but I love this you make it look so easy so I’ll keep trying ❤
@@JemilahAliyou are welcome. You can also twist the hair with 2 sections VS 3 in the same manner you would for corn rows/french braids. Then is called flat twisting. Looks similar to corn rows.
You're going to fast u need to slow down. Some of us don't know anything about doing hair. I'm a single father and I'm Trying to do my 4 year old daughter hair but your video didn't help because u went to fast. If u decide to do another video Slow down while your doing it that's supposed to be the point of the video to show how to do it
I’m 12!! And I just started trying cornrow braids out of no where on my hair and it actuallly looked so good !! Your videos are so helpful thank you!
Thank you so much!! I’m glad my videos helped. You put the biggest smile on my face 😂♥️
me tooo loll im 13
Me too I’m 12 and it really did I just did my very first cornrow
Same here!
I am 10
I was sooo excited that I finally learned French braids! Turns out it looked funny because I accidentally made cornrows. Can't say I was upset about it. 😂😂
I also learn that taking small pieces also helps and makes it neater
Yes it does!!! Great tip ♥️☺️ thanks for sharing

Ngl. I came to watch the video and now I can’t get over how beautiful she is. Why lord? Why you do this to me?😂
Lol thank you

Awww, your such a loving momma 💞 keep going don’t give up 🥰 it’s a learning process. It’s definitely not easy. You go this ♥️
@@JemilahAli Thank you so much for saying that 🥹🩵🩵🩵
So a dutch braid? Thats rlly cool actually I didnt know how similar they were
When trying to demonstrate something, could you try and make the video slower instead of faster? It was helpful but to fast 😖😅
You make it look so easy 😭 I can corn row and do 6 other types of braids BUT can't braid my own 😩 imma try again
And I only can domy own hair lol 😂
@@JemilahAli 😂😂😂
So it is just Dutch braiding.

Think of it as plaiting underhand.
Underhand produces canerows and overhand gives guinea.
I live close to cinci!! I hope you ended up finding someone❤❤
You sound like Ashanti... great video
Wow, thanks!
THIS
Uhh thats just a dutch braid...
This one of my favorite styles i just have to learn how to do it on my own !!
Its dutch braids😂
I tried this and I can’t do it idk why😢
Keep practicing I started learning by doing a flat twist first
Clicked to learn to braid my own hair...keep getting distracted by different aspects of you.☺...A true test of discipline and focus...thanks for sharing💞
lol. Awww thank you 💞
This is a Dutch braid not cornrow u could Atleast try for ppl who have short hair
Thanks for the feedback 💕
@JemilahAli This is not a cornrow or a french braid. These are called Dutch braids. A french braid is braided overhand and becomes flat. Great video by the way. Now I'll be able to braid my daughter's hair better than before.. Thank you
Literally the ONLY person that really breaks it down thank you!
Thank You!!!! So helpful
I can cornrow now! 😁🙏
Also your curly hair is kinda like mine 🤗
Yay I'm happy you did it ♥️♥️♥️
Thank you. I have understood. * inserts sarcasm *.
But thank you for the tutorial. Let me watch fifty more times
I’ve learned to over hand braid but now I’m learning to underhand it’s super annoying lol
Can u use braiding gel for that??
Yes, you can!!! It’ll last longer with the braid gel ♥️
I don't know how people do that! I am so stupid at this I only know how to do a normal braid😢😢😢😢😢😢
I was wondering why the start of my braid looked so fat. It’s because I grab too much hair in the beginning. Thank you 😂
OMG, that looks so easy 😮 I’m going to practice for a few days, then cornrow my own hair…Thanks for sharing 🤗🥰
How’d did in your hair come out????
This is not a cornrow. Cornrows are flat to the head braids resembling rows in a corn field.
I gust finish cornrow my hair and I am 10
Yeh but not the big ones like that the smaller ones for crochet !
This too hardddd 😭😭 I wanna learn so bad but my arms be hurting
Isn’t it called Dutch braid
I can’t see anything man, this wasn’t helpful at all.
Can you do a video where you do that process a little slower. Ik you’re explaining what you’re doing but the adding hair part I’m not getting, and when I try on my hair it won’t work?
Yes I will
@@JemilahAli thanks
I STILL CANT DO IT😭😭 your going to fast😭😭😭
Thank u..you read my mind...lol
Looks nice but so unclear
I put a comment but I don't think it posted. I was saying that that is such a beautiful curly hair! Those spirals are absolutely gorgeous.
thank you so much
Your hair is beautiful, simple and cute hairstyle! ❤
I couldnt do it but thats a human error not a u errer
That's a French braid
Note to self: When u add the hair be sure to grab hair from the opposite side for ex: when adding hair to the right piece, grab hair from the left side hair
Dutch braids….

Thats not a cornrow
I’m realizing everyone has a different name for them now lol 😂💞
The front always comes out good but the back looks horrible! Any tips?

I’m just letting you know that is a French braid I hope that helps. A french braid is one or two.corn rows are 3 or more
Hmmm…. Interesting 🫶🏾😁♥️
Btw I love your videos
Dutch bread french is under
I can't do the braids (yet?), but the concept also works for twist. Thank you for this, it was really helpful
You're so welcome! I actually learned by doing flat twists first ✨💕
Im jealous already, u have such beautiful, glowing skin. What do(if) you use to keep it up?
Just posted the video ♥️
My fingers just don't move that way
I learned by starting with flat twists and it helped me get the hand movements
Slowerrrrr please im still struggling
Jesus Loves you ❤
I tried it but my hair didn’t look good it looks bad and then my hack area hair didn’t get tight it’s lose 😩😩 I need to practice on my fiancé bc I suck 😊
Practice makes perfect. You got this ❤️
OK, so I already know how to braid my hair like that, but if I wanna do like four of them in my hair, do I just separate my hair and do it like that?
Yes works the same way ❤️
I’m only 10
Omg thank u so much I really loved this because I really need to do my hair thank u so muchhh
You're very welcome
I can only braid over and not under results are still the same but darn it my fingers are like 😵💫 trying to braid it like that
lol that makes sense. I’ve been trying to braid over for years it’s so hard for me 😂
Whats the difference of cornrow and dutch braids?
This is a dutch bread cornrows you need mutiple braids so you have rows of breads
I still can’t 😭😭
Instructions unclear. My hair is on fire right now😅
lol sorry babe
you made this shit look mad easyyy!!! trying it on my boyfriend lol
Let me know how it turns out
I thought it was called a French braid?
I got so many different answers lol
I can do this on everybody else head except mine 😒😒
And I’m the opposite. I can’t braid anyone’s hair to same my life 🤣
Awwwwn, I'm new to ur channel and my name is also Jemilah
Welcome!!! 😊💕

Love your hair colour💝what hair dye did you use?
I got it done by a colorist. I just posted the video if you want to check her out ♥️
Do you add hair to the middle section or to one side or both sides
No adding hair to the middle section. Just to each side
Corn row is opposite of regular braids for French braid. Just go under with the sections VS going over the top.

So is this basically like a Dutch Braid? Becuase that’s what it looks like? I may be wrong idk
People call it so many different things now a days 🥰
nope, there is a difference. I didn't know the different either tho, searched up today. you can search it up too
Can you do it with straight hair or gust curly ?
All hair types will work
CAN U GO INTO THE POOL WITH THIS HAIRSTYLE
Yes you can 😊
This Helped Me VERY MUCH And You Are Very VERY VERY Pretty
Thank you so much ♥️
french braids in reverse🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️I'm so slow😂😂😂
Cutie pie ❤😊
My issue is braiding w/ added hair😩
I have a video on that. If you want to check it out ❤️ that’s one of my favorite styles
I love this hairstyle SO much and it’s much more easier than a regular Dutch braid
why does it look so easy 😭😭😭
Lots and lots of practice. I started with doing a flat twist. That helped me with get the hand movements down.
How yu grab the more hair tho
I use my index finger to take up another piece and add it into the braid
anyone know any tips to reduce frizz??
Hi ☺️♥️ I posted a short about this 🙌🏾 check it out m. Hope it helps
Ugh u make it look easy😔
Keep practicing it pull get it 🥰
Holy crap, you can hold the braid without a tie? You’re brave.
I’m only 10 an I started braiding an cornrowing since I was 8
It does look so nice and neat
Thank you, no my arms don't get tired anymore
See I feel like this would be easier on like your type of hair than it is on people that have straight hair or wavy hair because yours is extra thick
What’s the difference between a corn row and a French braid?
You made that look so easy ❤
I'm a white girl, who doesn't know much about black hairstyles. What is the difference between this and a Dutch braid? are the the same thing?
Lordddd i think we all might be 13 in here i am too, but this video was so helpful thank you so much!
