What questions do you have about pain management for endometrial biopsy?

How much pain relief does a paracervical block provide????
A patient would still feel the uterus spasm during the procedure, i'm assuming.
The block only works on the pain produced by the cervix when the uterine sound and pipelle are pushing the cervix open, am i correct????

@@kathyfullarton8126 yes, the paracervical block is mainly to reduce pain associated with cervical dilation and manipulation. It's difficult to numb the entire uterus due to its nerve supply, so cramping can still be felt during these procedures.

    Hi....i have another question.
While reading about endometrial biopsies, articles mention that women who " have never given birth" might find this procedure more uncomfortable. In this situation, are women who have had their children by C section considered nulliparous???
    Thank you

@@kathyfullarton8126 nulliparous means that the patient has never been pregnant. I really think it should be the patient's choice about the type of pain control they want for a procedure, regardless of if they have had 0, 1, or 10 children and regardless of how they delivered. No one wins in the suffering Olympics.
