@@logicalindian9227 dried fruit is AWFUL. packed full of sugars, and something about how they're processed can cause really bad gasssss

I have seen a lot of people on UA-cam since my diagnosis, a lot talk rubbish or at least offer conflicting advice. You speak in a very clear and direct way and convey very important information without condescending us… thank you! Subbed!
'Progress over perfection' I love that!
😁😁
You've educated me a tremendous amount since my heart attack and insulin resistance!!! I'm healthier now than I've been in 25 years! Thank you
👏👏
I love the term you mentioned " progress over perfection ".
💪💪
Seriously, thank you for all of the videos over the past few years. I was diagnosed as Diabetic, with Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease, and a Gluten Allergy 2 years ago, with your help, I lost 60lbs, reversed the Liver Disease, got my blood sugar under control with just diet, and I feel 100 million times better and have more energy.
Again, THANK YOU!!!
That is so amazing!!! 😭🥹
that's awesome!
Oh my l have exactly what u have .. do u also have pcos.. can l ask what you did to get well ?
Just got back from a three mile fasted walk in the rain... It is 4PM but will likely break my fast in an hour or two...
Love this. I made a 100 slide PowerPoint on how the my dads breakfast - cereal, skim milk, no fat yogurt, white bread, and processed oils - caused his insulin resistance and how whole fat grass fed milk, whole fat yogurt, and sprouted whole grain cereal or bread, and grass fed cow butter, olive oil, or coconut oil the healthy food alternatives and have lower glycemic index/load
Thanks for being simple so the public can understand. You're helping the public see the truth, IF they will listen and eat what the body needs and not killing themselves with taste cravings. Keep up the good work.
YOU DO SUCH A GREAT JOB TELLING US WHAT WE SHOULD & SHOULDN'T DO. ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS LISTEN & BE DISCIPLINED & DETERMINED CAUSE YOU'VE PAVED THE WAY.
THANK YOU SO MUCH 😊❤

Good advice. 👍 Thanks.
Thanks for the information. It is very well presented.
Ezekiel Sprouted Grain Bread is this a better bread than sourdough bread.
Wonderful information Kait! Thank You!!!🎉

I realised sleep deprivation was causing some insulin resistance for me even though I do low carb and exercise everyday. Fixed my sleep to fix it
I subscribed to your channel a few weeks ago and find you one of the best for information on Keto and Insulin Resistance ❤ I really appreciate your content. I’m not sure if you’ve already done one of these, but I’m interested in what supplements you take every day.
Another awesome show full of very helpful health info. Your delivery and explanations are perfect. Thank you Coach.

Hello I’ve done keto off and on for the past 6 years and it’s great. I always used to think my insulin spikes came from being pre-diabetic. It just isn’t the whole truth. I recently discovered that I have Hashimoto’s Disease and that there is an endemic of Hashi’s right now. Understanding Hashimoto’s has helped me understand even more about keto and how to make it more sustainable. I definitely didn’t expect what I found I thought I already was an expert. Great content thanks for promoting the best diet! 🎉
Kait, you are helping to change my thinking about my wife’s rice cooking technique. Latina’s “fry” the rice in a layer of oil, much like making risotto. After the oil is absorbed they add water. I used to think this was terrible but after arguing about it with her, her triglycerides are low and numbers are good. Go figure- lol. Oh - she did compromise and uses olive oil now.
Bread was used as a food source of energy along time ago...but they walked everywhere and they chopped wood and their jobs were very vigorous....so it went to their muscles...also to mention ...zucchini noodle they're great..I think they taste fine..you can't even tell hardly the difference..great video
Thanks for all of the great content. I am wondering about the connection of eating meat and getting hot flashes during perimenopause. Are there any studies about this? Any videos on nutrition for women in perimenopause?
You didn't say avoid Chocolate!! I love you!😂
I can honestly say you’ve helped me an insane amount through my journey. The moment I found out I was dangerously close to becoming type 2 diabetic i changed my eating habits that exact day and your videos have made it so much easier. Fasting and eating healthy has become very easy to me now and just in 3 weeks I lost 20 lbs. I’m on month 3 and I have a doctors appointment coming up and for the first time in my life I’m excited for it. I’m even walking an hour every day now, and other than a few drizzles of sauces with my meals I haven’t had a single grain of added sugar since my initial results came in. Thank you so much and keep ‘em coming!
I second what this dude just said! I've lost 80 lb in 6 months and with a really busy schedule as difficult for me to exercise as much as I would like so this is pretty much strictly off of diet and trying to remain in ketosis I try to stick with underneath 30 g of carbohydrates a day but sometimes I go up to about 40 did I don't know how much I've improved my insulin resistance but my A1C drop back down to normal range at 5.4 in my blood sugar after eating half a rotisserie chicken was 80 so I think I'm doing massively better and I just feel better all the time compared to how I was 80 lb to go with high blood sugar..
Your videos have helped me massively!! Plus you look like Debra from Dexter!😊
@@GlassGhost74 hell yea brotha congrats man that’s huge!! I’m not sure how much I’ve lost since my last checkup at -20 but I’m looking forward to seeing at my next checkup. We got this bro!
Excellent video Kait, as usual!

Haha quality protein and fat and no-starchy fruit and veg are all great! Nuts and seeds, too. Lots of foods you can eat! I promise it doesn't have to be miserable 🫶

Candy flavored yogurt sux
I like highfat clean yogurt then i add what i know is good to it
Working on this desperatley..a few gnawing things keep wrecking everything... but almost there...mind game until the craving goes away...Great video
So, how long does it usually take to reverse insulin resistance?
What are your thoughts on the keto break options that are so available now?
Thank you, this is great stuff Kait. "Insulin friendly" is what the medical & food industries should promote.
Awesome Video 😊☕👍

No fruit juice since childhood. I’m allergic to all fresh fruit! I eat frozen fruit. No dairy. I eat whole wheat low cal bread with low cal Mayo,or mustard with Boars Head turkey breast and low sodium ham; whole wheat pasta, no vegetable oil, all olive oil, butter, little if any pop, water 99% of time, no alcohol due to alcoholism in family! How am I doing?
Great video and none of them surprised me, all high carb and low fat. The grog was probably the only thing that wasn't high carb but that is bad for the liver.
Awh dang it Kate 😊. The bringer of bad news? 😂😂😂.
You nailed it. My vice is red and rosè wine. My eating 🍽️ as I’ve said on here a few times, is pretty much centered around animal proteins and green veggies 🥬. It has to stay that way in order for me to keep from craving sugars. The naturally occurring fat does what its supposed to do. Satiety is where it’s at.
Would trying to increase resistant starch in bread or baked goods be a help toward the fight of the UR?
I am on keto diat and follow the 16:8 fasting window. I make almond keto bread at home... Please suggest is it ok to consume almond keto bread.
Hi Kait! I am type 2 diabetic. I use oven baked fruit as a sweet treat, thinking it's better than sweets. Am I wrong? I understand that, although there is no added sugar, the drying process concentrates the fructose. They're also in much smaller have than sweets. What are your thoughts, please? I use the Urban Fruit brand from Amazon, and mostly the strawberries. Thank you xx
Hi Coach Kait thanks so much! you are heaven sent! thank you for informing us all and sharing your knowledge!
O I totally agree on the bread! It's with everything.
I use Keto bread 1 net carb and no sugars
I normally cook with olive oil, but i heard you say its not the best..so coconut better is better?
What about flaxseed and hemp seeds and mtc oil ????
Hi Kait, What are your thoughts on whole wheat low carb tortillas (Trader Joe's brand specifically)? I'm missing my street tacos! Thank you for all the information you provide.
I actually made my own torts, using almond flour, whole psyllium husks, olive oil...got the recipe on-line... because I missed my wraps. 🐈
Does anyone know if kombucha bad for insulin resistance? Also what about green apple?
Then what to include when u have hypothyroidism and insulin resistance 😢
Sorry madam, have you published some papers? if yes how can i get them, Help me plz
Just one question girl...corn tortillas are good or bad?? in moderation of course
Don’t forget bacon grease for cooking with.
Good job Kait, great list, already incorporate most of the list, occasional lapses, but as you say so beautifully - "Progress over perfection", a perfect life mantra!! Question - what would you consider 'high heat' cooking?? Omelets? Is there a heat degree cutoff?(1-10 on the stove dial).
Usually eggs are cooked on a lower temp so that’s fine! Probably anything under 5
Hi, I love watching your videos and learn so much! I'm just wondering if you've any tips on how to not get gestational diabetes if i got pregnant again? I had it last year and remained diet controlled thankfully. I would like not to get it again as it stressed me out last time. I even done your test where you check if you're insulin sensitive/resistance with your triglycerides and HDL and got 0.6 is this a good result? Thank you x
When we are pregnant, we become insulin-resistant naturally. If we are metabolically healthy before the pregnancy then this is not enough to cause gestational diabetes. However, if we are insulin resistant going into the pregnancy then the resistance compounds. If you have been taking steps to improve your insulin resistance before the pregnancy then you are setting yourself up to not be in that situation.
Yes, that is a good ratio! I will say that cholesterol numbers improve quickly once you start making changes, so it might be worth testing your fasting insulin and HOMA-IR just to be sure!
Thank you I have stage 5 CKD and started your ideas and got so much more energy and lost 1/2 stone in 2 weeks
Is that kidney issues? Isn't that from high protein?
High Sugar Type 2 Diabetes @@joanneclark8256
Some of these foods are going to be hard to avoid especially when you’re pregnant and fighting insulin resistance while pregnant. I’m having more tolerance towards sweeter foods but eat foods that give me morning sickness because I know they’re nutritious and better for my health .. it is a battle
What about using a juicer to make fresh apple juice? Is this still bad.
Is eating dairy free yogurt (flavored/non-flavored) and dairy free other foods good?
Always a smile, kind and friendly and mostly up to date on changes
No peanut oil???
3 years keto and healthier 67 y/o! No Rx.
👏👏
Foods rich in sugar is the worses
Is it ok to have 1 or 2 "cheat meals" per week? Im not talking about cheat day obviously, but just 2 meals per week where i dont have to think about what am i eating?
What about Swiss Style Muesli?
I've not had oj or apple juice / cider...organic or otherwise in 3 years.
I workout in gym allot. This is how I can easily reverse it. Also take it in moderation also.
I used to think i couldnt give up bread or pasta, but it definitely was a lot easier once i started making small changes. My taste buds started to change and i dont want those items anymore. i now crave foods i used to absolutely despise (ie cottage cheese and avocado)
Of all these things, the 1 item i cant give up is tropical fruit, bananas specifically. I eat them just about everyday. I eat them as my dessert, though. I put banana and peanut butter on a low carb wrap and i cant get enough. Thats so much better than the desserts i used to eat and i still get my daily fill of bananas. I have come light years in my health journey just since this past january. Diabetes runs rampant in my family (3 of 5 members of my nuclear family are diabetic) and i knew sooner than later, itd be me. Now, im confident that wont be the case.
When exercise my sugar levels go down ,
Must eat often, small amounts , to keep it up,
I go to the gym for 3hr a day,2 rest days,
Type 2 diabetic ,
Things have got really stage lately, fruit I eat ,is not lasting as long, all ways walking a fine line, with hypo,😮
WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE PROTEIN POWDER THAT YOU RECOMMEND ?
Equip is a good brand hckait.com/protein
Saladino would disagree with the Juice thing 😂... love the hair by the way 😁
Hey
I have a question, is cottage cheese, OK to eat with insulin resistance? With maybe blueberries on top?
Yes!
Agree with many comments. You have to mentally adjust your mind as to what is the real purpose of eating. For those of us who really enjoyed sweet "foods" like chocolate, soft drinks , donuts, cakes etc, once you realise and understand that that these types of sugars and ultra refined carbs are chemically TOXIC to your cell metabolism, then you will (or you will need to) look at food differently. You can easily train yourself to eat for nutrition and not be "conned" by the sugar/fat/salt combination that food manufactures use manipulate to increase consumption of their product ( to get you to buy and eat more).Remember that the business objective of these companies is to make money off you consuming as much of their product as possible at all times of the day. When your health is adversely affected, then the pharma industry steps in and makes money off you in treating the symptoms of your poor diet. So everyone is making money from convincing people to make poor food choices and in keeping them unhealthy for as long as possible - basically from cradle to grave. When you start changing the way and what you eat, initially our taste buds can work against you ( wanting sweet things) but this can easily be overcome once you start on the path of eating for nutrition not eating for that "taste" sensation. It comes down to how you think about food. It comes down to whether you want to pay money to companies that have a vested interest in KEEPING you unhealthy or whether you take control of yourself and resist the psychological / marketing manipulation.
Hi Kait how is your Australian spring going?
Hi John! It's been so good so far 😁 The weather has been warming up quickly! Hope you're enjoying your last bit of summer!
I've been having a great time pickling and fermenting vegetables from my garden =)@@HealthCoachKait
What about kamut bread?
Kaitlin, please clarify the yogurts. Not sure what the issue with flavored yogurt. Sugared, flavored with fruit? You were saying full fat is better? Plain yogurt is so tart. Would a teaspoon of honey be acceptable?
These all seem obvious to me now, but I probably ate 13/14 regularly before. For me, only drinking water after I used to drink soda (pop), gatorade, and orange juice has probably made the biggest difference. Whether it is the empty calories or the sugar crashes or the satiation, I think that is a place that a lot of people can start.
I miss my bagels 😢
phew. fortunately i dont consume much of all of those but its good to know.
Plz reply me.
I have lean pcos I m taking medications but I m too lean I wanna gain some weight as my BMI is loe
I was diagnosed with PCOS, my Dietician asked me to avoid eating egg yolk among other foods. She beli6egg yolk is fattening. Please, whats your take on not eating egg yolks?
The egg yolks are the most important part to eat
@@HealthCoachKait thank you
How about toasted bread with some proteins
How about bananas before they fully ripen? I still find them flavorful (especially apple bananas) and heard they have resistant starch.
Yes, bananas that are not fully ripe have less sugar + more resistant starch and can be a better option than fully ripe ones. Just always make sure to pair them with protein and fat ❤️
Thankyou for replying so quickly. I really enjoy and learn from your videos. I eat them as dessert after a low carb meal.@@HealthCoachKait
Can I have keto bread? It’s very low in carbs
I wish i didn't have gastritis and non diabetic hypoglycemic
Fasting may help with both of those diseases.
My question is I am told I have insulin resistance and unsure how to raise it back up when I'm in the hypoglycemic point. Everything tells you sugar and stuff you shouldn't have🥺🥺 any ideas.
If I’m on a keto diet can I have sugar carbs and stay in ketosis if the sugar carbs are under the 30-40 carb threshold? In other words, do the type of carbs matter when it comes to staying in ketosis?
How about cottage cheese?😊
Great!
all the bad stuff. That is all my parents will eat. They refuse to listen or change, probably a common thing. The hospital food my dad got was worse with full sugar soda pop. cake bread biscuits etc.. there are a lot of hurdles , free availability of bad choices. I think some austerity of diet should especially apply to people in hospital. Feed them nutrients not carbs!
Chobani sugar free greek yogurt is great
