for these GM cars no need to program ECU or TCM. If u get a used ECU from a junk yard u can put it in your car and u can simple program it yourself, turn ignition to the ON position for until security light goes away is will be like 10 min, than turn it to the off position for like 3 sec. than back to ON position again until security light goes away again, you do this 10 min procedure 3 times total and 4th time u can turn key to crank position and car should start. This procedure will learn your car key. So u dont need dealer for replacing ECU just make sure the part number is the same. Same looking parts dosnt mean they are the same.
@@kyhomegarage3430 it's crazy I remember when you first started. You had low confidence you could tell it in you speech. Now your killing it. Great job very proud if it means anything
I have a cheap scanner and it was showing a misfire and rich code all the time. I replaced everything. Plugs, wires, coils, fuel pump and filter, still have a misfire. Still rich. Shop told me its the ecm. Ordered it but it won't relearn the 30 min key process. But I took the car and hooked it up to a little bit better scanner and it through the p0700 and the u0100 and a p0101... all codes basically communication loss codes. Would it be best to replace all? Or could it all be tied back to a faulty ecm?
To summarize, if that U code (lack of communication between tcm and pcm) comes up check power and ground to the TCM. If good replace TCM. If that u code comes up, can you get freeze frame data from it? If the TCM throws any error code, can the tcm give freeze frame data? That would give a major clue.
Arthur Fricchione So far so good my friend. It’s been three weeks and still runs good. Owner works at Autozone and I ask him every time a see him. He is very happy.👍
@@joshuatorrez7608this means you need to have your transmission serviced. You will notice a huge difference in gas mileage ,shifting and all around performance as well.
@@karmaleglass2168 so if you service the transmission and don’t reset the life % on the screen than it will just stay at the same previous %? Because I changed my transmission fluid a while ago after I left that first comment but I didn’t know you could reset it so I never did it. It actually still says 30% trans fluid life. I’m having pretty much the same exact problem as this video.
I have 05 cts with p0700 code and for what i seen that the volt in the car moves around from 13.5 to 14.6 is there something else that i should check. Also while changing gear the car like jumps and when i slowdown as well. Any suggestion Thanks. Great video
I had same problem remove all positive and negative bolts from battery alternator and pcm and sand bolt and where it gets bolted down and fixed my problem.

Nice diag & repair Ramon! It's always nice to duplicate all the same DTCs with the pull of a fuse. Gives you immediate direction!
Hayward's Automotive thank you my friend. I started with pulling fuses because trouble code didn’t make any sense to me. Cheers 👍
I'm gonna have to remember to squeeze modules as well during troubleshooting... nice one!
Thomas EXOVCDS thank you my friend. Stressing module casing did help for sure.😁👍
That was a great find. Love the thinking you definitely ain't going to find that on a flow chart
lovetolearn 52 Thank you my friend this one was fun.😁😁

Great diag Ramon. Seems the TCM was just plug&play. Thanks for sharing! 👍
Dylan It was plug and play for sure my friend.👍
Same problems I'm having with my 2009 cts cadillac

What was you’re car doing before this. Would go into gear but not want to go when you press gas? Or was it just shifting poorly
Mine is doin what u said
Had some what similar issue, it turned out to be the Mass air sensor, bewildered us to?
Replaced it and th e trans problem went away!
I have a 07 Cadillac that turns on but won’t run on any gear ????
So did your cadillac even go into gear?
I’m have problems with my Cadillac CTS 2004 wen I put in drive it goes slow
Check your transmission fluid and also brakes. Your brake caliper could be stuck and slows car down.
@@kyhomegarage3430 check all four
What about a 05 Cadillac Sts slowing down after warming up.
Won't pick up speed
galcan85 check fuel pressure.
Roger Dat .
I do have a fuel gauge that goes back to E when running.
This may be re-program recall
Good job
nice
Have you seen this guy since you did this work on the car? Does he still own it? If so, did the tcm replacement fix it?
So far so good. Still runs good.👍
So was his transmission fluid life at 70 percent ?
Jacarious Griffin what would that mean? Mine says 36% and have been wondering why it’s not at 100%?
