- Cadillac SRX 2004 Trans fluid and Filter change. Also, testing Lucas transmission fix. Transmission has started slipping in overdrive when torque applied, especially when going up hills. I want to see if Lucas Transmission Fix helps. At this point I have nothing to lose, the trans will eat itself if i continue to drive it. Lets see....

I have a question that hopefully you or somebody can answer for me. My question is when you put the Lucas transmission fix in how is that done. is it done the same way just like when your putting the new transmission fluid in. and do you put the same exact fill hole please let me know

The fluid goes in the top plug on side of transmission

Where can I get all this product to do this I was told I had to go to a shop and couldn't do it at home cuss no stores had everything I need?

I had to replace the tranny. Something was slipping causing it to overtemp.

I replaced the trans. It helped for awhile but kept overheating.

It did help but the trans was too far gone. I ended up replacing the trans.
Just curious if its still running since I'm about to buy one today.
The car is but the tranny had to be replaced. The oil helped but it was too late. The damage had been done.

Hey how did the lucas work out for you down the road?
It helped the shifting but I still had to replace the Torque Converter because it was toasted. I also ended up replacing the valve body because of solenoid valve issues. So Lucas Transmission Fix did help the shifting temporarily but I had other mechanical problems that need replacement parts. Replacing the torque converter and valve body cost me around 500-600 dollars instead of 3500 to have a complete transmission replacement. I could have gone to the junk yard for less that 3500 but then you don't know what you are getting either. Thanks for the comment.

is this the V8 model? if so did you utilize 2 gallons to fill it or how much?
It took about a gallon and a half. That was with the torque converter full of fluid.
I have a question. At the end you said you put oil in it at first just to fill the oil pan then started the engine to insert more but how do you know when the pan is filled
It has a fill plug on the side and the oil runs out when it is full. You have to check it when it is warm, level and running in park.
Don't you have to put gasket in to as well otherwise you have leak
