Will the FA20 engine be able to get flex fuel without other mods or does it need to go stage 2 first? (Intake, TMIC, EBCS)
Our current plan is to offer multiple "stages" of flex fuel package and OTS maps for the FA20 WRXs.

Is any of this interchangeable with the old flex fuel sensor kit? Also, would I need to swap out my entire previous flex fuel kit or just get something like a new harness?
You can continue to use your fuel system as-is and replace the module/harness with NexGen components.

How long does CARB approval take? I want to get the full stage 2 + Flex package but only the stage 2 package without Flex has CARB approval.
It depends. We have seen it take anywhere from 30 days to 4 years.

is a re-tune or AP update required to upgrade from the old system to the new system or are any tune revisions needed? or is it plug and play?
The wiring harness is plug-and-play with your existing ethanol content sensor however there ARE calibration differences so your Protuner would need to update a custom map.
Is this able to be run on fully stock sti? Or does pump/injectors etc need upgraded first?
In order to utilize our supporting Off The Shelf Map, you would need all of the components within the NexGen Stage 2 + Flex Fuel Power Package.
Technical speaking, is this a new digital communications vs the old analog communication via the ECU? 0.5v-4.5v analog readings wasn't always super accurate.
This is still utilizing an analog 0-5v input.

Short answer - yes (I think). Longer answer - If you want to use our supporting Off The Shelf maps you would need all of the components in the NexGen Power Package. Custom tuning is available for other configurations that are capable of supporting fuel with higher ethanol concentrations. - Marshall@COBB
COBB NexGen Stage 2 to Stage 2 + Flex Fuel Power Package Upgrade 2008-2021 STI. Question?? Do i have to upgrade my fuel pump and injector?
An upgraded fuel pump is required for the NexGen Stage2 and NexGen Stage2+FlexFuel map files. It is included with the NexGen Stage2 Power Packages but is not part of the "Upgrade to Flex Fuel" Package.
I'm curious, what has changed from the last version, and what about the EPA shit that took away the single Flex Fuel maps? Also would there be any benefits in upgrading kits if already tuned for the old kit?
The short of it is that these new kits do not require any DTC suppression and allow full function of factory emissions equipment and sensors (TGV).

The flex fuel tunes used a TGV sensor input to feed the ECU data to interpret live ethanol content.
The only alternative to tuning ethanol with Greenspeed was a regular tune procedure at a specific ethanol blend of choice. Varying from that blend requires another tune, or filling up with pump and switching maps.

Not at the moment.
So the Nexgen kit only works if I also buy cobbs fuel lines aswell that’s a lot of money when they could’ve just included it, or better yet make it fit stock rails
The factory rails have some issues that are especially present when using fuel injectors that flow more than stock so we will always recommend our lines/rails/FPR configuration as it is in the Stage Power Packages.
You'll want parallel feed fuel lines considering the increased volume you'll need to run ethanol. It doesn't have to be Cobb brand lines, you can absolutely diy, but you're going to need rails, afpr, and parallel feed lines.
When does this come out for 08-14 wrx/STi?
Trying to hone in on a date, but should hopefully be available for GR/GV STI in the next few months.

Unfortunately, I am a resident of the California Bay Area. Currently, my 2018 Type RA is running the Stage 1+ intake package. Have you released a Stage 2 upgrade package without the flex fuel kit? I couldn't find any relevant products on your website. Alternatively, will you be obtaining carb certification for the entire upgrade package including the flex fuel kit?
Hey there! Our NexGen Stage 2 Power Packages are applicable to your Type RA and covered by a CARB EO. We do not yet have an EO covering the +Flex Fuel version of the package/calibration, but are hopeful it is possible to obtain at some point.
I mean the Stage 1+ to NexGen Stage 2 upgrade package, as I don't want to get the AP and intake system once again.@@cobbtuning
Are the Iag fuel rails/ kit compatible with this kit?
We can only guarantee fitment with the COBB Fuel Rails and Fuel Line Kit.
Could we run the 15+ on 08-14 STI?
Not yet. While the hardware will be the same, we have a bit of work left to do on software and map files.
So how far away are we from getting secondary airpump deletes and TGV deletes back? Seems a bit ridiculous I cant turn off a check engine light in my vehicle. Dont really want to go to a Standalone but its looking like thats about the only play now.
That functionality will not be returning to our platform.

This is currently only compatible with 2015-2021 WRX STI. We will be working on adding more vehicle support over the coming months.

We are aiming to bring Flex Fuel back for 2015-2021 WRXs in very early 2024. The solution is going to look a bit different than the current NexGen kit for STIs.

While this product is not covered by a CARB EO and is not available in California, it has been third party emissions tested and is available in other states while we work towards acquiring an EO.

We offered a lengthy and very generous return/refund program for those who purchased the previous flex fuel kits.
@@cobbtuning i was told if it was opened or used that it couldnt be returned. I dont find that to be generouse when i was unaware that i wouldnt be able to get my car tuned with it anymore

Try looking harder. We have repeatedly stated it's something we're going to pursue adding in 2024.
