  • Some of the basic maintenance things I do to my dirt bikes & dual sports before or after I ride!
    The Honda XR650L is the picture of versatility. Off-road, it dominates the trail with the right combination of power, suspension and durability. And when you’re on the road, its light overall weight, electric starter and excellent fuel efficiency make it great for commuting or even long trips.
    While the graphics will catch the eye, what really sets the XR650L apart is its ultra-tough 644cc overhead cam engine that has torque and power to spare. And because it’s air-cooled, it’s easy to maintain. Plus, the engine’s gear-driven counter balancer reduces tiring vibrations, so you can ride comfortably for hours on end.
    Monster trail or monster commute, the XR650L has got you covered.

    Always happy to see new videos! I know it’s winter time and it’s tough to do any riding, but I’m wondering if you can give us a video about jumping. Not large MX style jumps but more practical enduro/trail riding jumps off of hills and berms in the woods. I don’t know if you’ve already done it but if you have I’d appreciate it if you could point me to the video.

    Like your outlook on oil brands...bottom line if you're using the right spec oil for your machine and changing it to the makers spec's your are going to be fine.

    Yes! great video Rick! I really liked your trick for chain tension checking with the fingers. I too really like the trials style tires with close knobs, I call them balloon tires cause they're like the old honda atv tires that floated over everything.
    I'm surprised you have such great results with the K270s on street with such low air pressure. How fast do you ever take them, not past 100kph I imagine? Maybe you're just a genius and I'm doing something stupid... Do you rim lock the tires on that pressure?
    Thanks for another awesome video man, I'm looking forward to the next one. Hope you'll doing well and keep healthy.

      Yes I use rear rim locks if I'm doing tons of on road riding I go up to 15 to 20 I usually don't ride a lot of on road so I can get away with very low pressures! Thanks for watching all is good more videos coming! :)

    With the chain adjustments, after you get your axle centered, to adjust, I tighten each nut 1 flat at a time and re check the slack. Your clutch cable looks really tight against the cylinder. Have you melted it yet? My 650l is similar.

    Hey man great information! im looking into getting another bike and want to get something i can ride on open trails, hills, and a sort of single track type application. I am looking at getting an Xr650l possibly but wanted to know what you thought about it, im 5'8" and just wondering if you would go back and buy a 650l again if you had the chance

    • @HeddleTown
      @HeddleTown  2 роки тому +1

      Yes I am the same height. They are tall bikes so you have to adjust for that! Hard to beat Honda reliability!
