Adjusting the power on the BSA R10 Mk2

- Here's a look at how to increase or decrease the power of the BSA R10. Always make sure that you use a chronograph regularly to make sure that you stay within any legal limits. This is an easy job to do. All you will need is a 4mm Alan wrench to undo the stock and if the end cap doesn't come off by hand you will need to heat it with a blow torch or similar to melt the glue or Loctite that holds it in place. Be careful with any heat source. You will also need a wide blade screw driver or chisel to make the adjustments, or something to turn the adjuster for the hammer spring.
Nicely done 👍👏
Use a hair dryer and a pair of grips carefully and can be done in less than 5 mins, brilliant video
Cap on my mk2 is held by 2 bolts one under trigger unit and other under the probe after bolt removal
Love your videos .just like to ask do you have to apply for your club?as I’m in Derbyshire not far from you and looking for a club.just to have some target work once or twice a week ??cheers
The gun you are using to demonstrate this adjustment is sub 12ftlb or FAC?
Thank you very much :)
great video, i am thinking of getting back into airgunning and the r10 is in my final list of top 3 rifles along with daystate regal hr, a bit out of my price range but may push the boat out, HW110 laminate. just wanted to know if the r10 is that accurate out of the box and out of the 3 rifles on my list which one would you go for if you had the choice. many thanks
Nicely done. But can you tell me how do I know if the cap is glued or if it has grooves on it. Secondly which glue should I use to stick it back because loctite is not available in country I live in
What that app your using to measure the fps
Approximately how many full turns clockwise to go from 11.00 to 11.6 would you suggest? Thanks
Nicely explained. If I screw the cap back without any glue does any air leak from this cap while firing?
I felt my R10 (purchased September 2020) was shooting somewhat low in power, at least compared to what I've seen on UA-cam reviews. After watching your video I got the courage to attempt to adjust the hammer spring and I was surprised to find that not only was the end cap NOT glued in place, but it was so loose it was ready to fall off. What do you make of this? Was the factory adjustment skipped on my rifle?? Your thoughts........
i could not for the life of me get the cap of and it was glued on real good, tried heating, prizing, grips, rubber gloves, me twisting and a friend turning. ended up damadging the paint work around the cap. ultimately i sent it to ratworks and it came back was easy to remove
How much of a turn on the screw did you do for the power?
What’s the highest you could probably tune it to? Just out of curiosity?
Would this be the same procedure on the r10 se ?
I have the Rat works edition R10 and I’ve applied for my air gun FAC spoke to Phil and he says not a good idea to up the power on the gun saying it will take away what’s good for the gun
Increased spring tension but no increase in ft per second. Must have to do the Reg also assume. Mine is getting 670 ft per second.
what was the crono you were using ?
If i adjust the hammer spring and the power doesnt go up what would this be?
