- Today I want to share with you one of my favorite single malt scotch distilleries to drink around this time of year. Its Talisker! Today we are talking a little history and a lot of what makes their whiskey one of my favorites to sip during the cold winter months, including a rare Talisker 25 year! I also cover the classic 10 year, 8 year rum finish, Storm, Dark Storm and 18 year old! Enjoy the video!

Yeah.. we're going to need you to do more of these distillery line ups.. I think these videos are the best and most informative for both new and experienced whiskey enthusiasts because it helps give an opinion of comparison. Very nice.
Talisker Distillers Edition is an absolute must try and review. I'm also a big Talisker fan and the DE is my favorite. Maybe you could do a Distillers Editions battle if you can line up Oban DE, Lagavulin DE and Talisker DE.

Cracked the 10 year open tonight and was blown away.
The 10 year old edges out the 18 for me, not by a lot but the 10 is one of my first loves in scotch. Excellent video, more like this please :)
Love it, Jason! Skye is the ancestral home of the Clan McLeod, my mother’s people, so grew up with Talisker and really enjoy them all. I think retail on the 25 is around $250 (about double the 18), so I hear you, but I do think it’s a small step up. Storm and good old 10 are wonderful too, as you say!! Sláinte!

The Distillers Edition (10y.o. finished in Amoroso sherry casks) is what got me into Talisker. The ten is a staple as long as it stays cheap. I don’t know if I would splurge on the 18, that kind of money I tend to keep for Octomore 🤪 Nice video thanks ! You would love the Distillers Edition btw, Amoroso is PX mixed with Oloroso if I remember well. Chocolate peated goodness, complex yet easy sipper 💥
Nice video. Talisker is great! You should try the Talisker Distillers Edition. Should be a just a little more expensive than the 10. It’s finished in Amorroso Sherry.
Definitely have to seek it out. Everyone is telling me to try it.
When you said "it sounds gross but its delicious", that description is similar to my Ardbeg 10 description. I think it tastes like licking sugar off a burnt tire, but in a good way.

If you ever have the chance the 30 year cask strength is out of this world but for the modern official lineup the 18 strikes the right balance of value and quality - love that you’re branching out into international whisk(e)y more and more. Cheers!

Talisker 10 is still one of my favorite value whiskey. The quality for this price is so hard to beat. 18 Is the best for sure I agree. 57 North is maybe just a little bit under 10 for me, but I do take into considerations price..

If you ever get a chance, try the 1985 Talisker Maritime Edition Natural Cask Strength 27 Year Old. We tried it when we visited the distillery and loved it so much I purchased a bottle on the secondary market.
I always suggest it as a great way to enter Peat and smoke.
Talisker 10 may be the best value in scotch. Around 80 or 85 in these days for that level of quality is incredible
I agree! The 18 is the best Talisker followed by 57 North. But the 10 is not far behind and is definitely the best value Talisker

I haven't had 25 yet but so far, 18yr is a must have on my shelf.
After being mostly in the bourbon world I ventured a few months back and purchased bottles of Lagavulin, Laphroaig Lore, and Talisker 10. They are all great but honestly my favorite - at least for now - is the Talisker 10. The Talisker has a nice blend of caramel, sea salt, and smoky + sweet peat. And what I really like is the finish as it presents as more salt and sweet caramel versus the more savory, bacon like finish of Lagavulin and Laphroaig. Really enjoyed this lineup review and will have to keep an eye out for the 18 and the Storm / Dark Storm as well. Cheers!
Probably my favorite scotch to drink with a meal. It pairs with soups all the way to desert 👍🏻
Love the review & Talisker is amazing, always have to have it on hand. Was lucky to visit several in Scotland including them on the beautiful Isle of Skye. Had to bring 57 north home with me from there since most others available here around Chicago
I drink a good bit of Scotch, but sadly I have never had Talisker. I tend to stay away from whisky with coloring (or low ABV), but I have a bottle of Talisker 2011 distillers edition that I have never opened. Will open it when it gets a bit cooler (December down here…)

Talisker 10 is the the one I own right now. The 10 is a very good Scotch but I will be looking to buy the 18 since you did this video. I love the channel. Keep on Tubeing!

Awesome rundown, Jason. Talisker 10 is the dram that hooked me on Scotch, and it's one of my favourite distilleries. My favourite is the 15yo special release, but they're all good. The Port Ruighe and the distillers edition are good, but they are less Talisker-y in my opinion. But you're right, I'd stick with the 10 for price/value. Cheers Jason 🥃🇨🇦🇺🇲
Talisker 25 was very cheap in Belgium. I picked up 2 bottles for $250 each. Great for $250 but not worth over $350. 57 North was fantastic and I wish I had acquired more bottles when I had the chance. Single Cask Nation had some fantastic cask strength independent releases as well.
I need to go hunting for Talisker Storm, so far Talisker's been my favorite peated Scotch and Storm sounds delicious.
I'm not a huge peated person, but for whatever reason the Longrow Red series is one i can get into. They're hard to find, but well worth it if you do. Nice review Jason
Talisker is my favorite peated scotch. James Bond drank it, so it can't be bad!

1 month into and now just opened my second bottle of peated scotch (both Ardbeg, 10 & Uigeadail) and l'm really enjoying it...flavor bombs!

You forgot about the Talisker Distillers Edition. Talisker 10, 18, and D.E are my favorites however, Islay Scotch is my go to.
Great video, Jason. I am a Scotch rookie for sure. Highland Park 12 got me hooked first and I next tried Talisker 10. It is outstanding. Heard on one review it described as "gingerbread cookie by a campfire" and I think that's appropriate. Hooked on this one too and looking to spread my wings out some more.
I have Storm and 10. Pretty damn good. Talisker and Highland Park are about all i like outside of Ilsay Scotches.
I’ve had the 10 and the 18, and really enjoyed both. Didn’t know enough about the storm to splurge on that yet. Bummed about the 25.
If I could get the Talisker 18 for $160 then I would have bought it 2 years ago. It is priced at $200 here which has been enough for me to go with another whisky. That being said, I still might buy it in the next year.

Came for the Talisker, but that Found North corn whisky on the barrel piques my interest. Is that batch 2 or 4? You should review that soon so I know whether to drop the money on it

Nice, love the Talisker! Not sure why but in FL I cannot get the 10 for less than $80 pretty much anywhere and for less than that I would just get the Port Charlotte all day when I want a good smoky scotch. At least the Storm is a more reasonable $55-60 in my neck of the woods
Talisker do a good job, just wish diageo didnt keep the prices going up. Theres some great sourced talisker out there right now as well.
Not the biggest Islay fan but Talisker is damn good juice.
How do you feel about Talisker versus a Highland Park scotch?
Great reviews. Love Talisker but I tend to stick with their cask strength bottlings. The newer 25 yr olds are a shell of what they were from 2001-2009. Also, if you can find the 2018 8 yr Special Release grab it. It's one of my fav sub-10 yr olds, and so much better than their last two 8 yr old releases.
That's what I heard about the 8 year and the 25 year as well.
I’ve been enjoying Taliskers more. Definitely is a great pour. Still enjoy Ardbeg and Laphroig a bit more. Cheers

Is the dye no big deal? I am not too familiar with scotch, but looking online it seems the coloring is common even among more premium and aged scotches? Is that not seen as cheap among scotch people?

Maybe I should switch to talisker. They upped my Ardbeg 25 to $1200 this year.
Might have to try the Storm sometime. That and 10 are the only easily obtainable ones locally, and the 10 goes for $80. Now since they're the same age and at similar price points, which would you rather take, Bunna 18 or Talisker 18?

Don't have that one and not available by me. But based on feedback I'll be seeking it out.
In the last year (I'm guessing) the 10 has had a rebranding, and some folks have mentioned that the flavour profile is different. Anyone have experience with this?
People will always say this, I think it is psychological mostly. Or you know “yeah, but you should have gotten that older design it was muuuch better” :p

LOL, what's the rush here with these great/awesome 6 Talisker bottles , LOL, did people lend you these bottle with a very limited time, one minute per year in the cask? fuck that up, wait! some water in between, what? fuck that up, just dink them it, and big ones ,and out of the way .LOL or is this the true American thing, LOL. the faster the scotch review the faster the channel grows , LOL😄🥃

Talisker is terrific. It’s just WAY overpriced here (in Florida), and is tough to find. Storm is worth $60 IMO, and Dark Storm is worth $70 IMO. If I can find either here, they go for $100 + each. Nope, not worth it for that price.
