I cannot wait to have a house with WINDOWS. I've got all my plants shoved up near the balcony door in my dark apartment. So jealous of your beautiful displays. One day....
@Gloria Vargo GE grow lights are super cheap right now because GE is selling off their light division. The company buying gets to continue to use the GE brand to label them so they still say GE on packaging. This has triggered a massive price drop from over 50% reduction in price, they seem to be going back up so get them cheap while you can!
I find plants with lower light needs can do well with just a regular houselight LED bulb. There are often lamps for sale at thrift stores which would help brighten up your place :)
@Gloria Vargo i use led lights with 65000 Kelvin and ~1600 lux, they're *bright* bright but you can get them for cheap off Amazon and they behave almost as good as my actual growlights!
Tension rods are great for window recesses, then hang some S hooks on them. Also door hooks that go over the top of doors or cupboards, like to hang a wreath at Christmas etc. I think maximising the space in windows is also great, like a wood or glass shelf on two tall vases or candlesticks. Plus llittle hanging shelves that hang from just one nail.
Nick, I don't know what happened during social isolation, but you're so much more fun and enjoyable to watch now!! Super fun, you sound more comfortable in your own skin, less self controlled, more relaxed, I'm living it! And your beard is 🔥🔥🔥
It sounds pretty forced to me... He actually mentioned how people commented about how worried about him they were when he acted more natural (low key) a few videos ago 🤷 It seems like he's overreacting.
Honestly I was telling myself they were too short on the outside, I'm esthetician and with the pen trick for perfecting shape angle for the eye, it could be easily fixed, altough I would let them get a bit thicker to be closer from a natural look
So happy I stumbled on your channel! I dont know what’s more gorgegous, you or your plant collections tehe~~~ I don't clock any ring, I’m 25 you’re 25, I like plants you like plants. say hey c; #crushin
I am a faux plant person, but redoing my house during lockdown I found you, and now I have FIVE ACTUAL LIVE PLANTS. You are so fun to watch, easy to understand, and inspiring. Take care and thank you!
I love all those plants in front of your windows. No need for shades or curtains. Yes, the hard part is the hardware to hold all of that weight. Inspiring. Those mounted on wood in moss plants are just beautiful!
I laughed throughout this whole video. Your videos are always witty. Great ideas too...I’m running out of space for all my plants and also want to change up the look a little.
Hi Nick!! Love your videos I wanted to tell you that I would really love to watch a video about what you do with your houseplants when you leave for holidays and which houseplants you still have since you firstly started collecting them😍🌱🌺🌿
I found that white toothpaste is a great substitute for spackle when you have pinholes and small nail holes in walls. Most of my houseplants are on shelves. I have two wire shelves in my bay window packed with houseplants and my seed starter tray.
Nike..you are a very smart guy.. I went to Lowe’s and bought a white trellis just like the one you have on this video for my potho plant 🌱, it looks great on my wall with the plants climbing on it. Super cool 😎. Thanks my smart guy.
Thank you! I'm so bored with shelving units and hanging hooks. I also rent but I love these ideas! Love your channel! 💜 Your personality is amazing and so fun! 💜 💜
Can you imagine the chaos if your roomate loved plants as much as you do :) LOL I love your macrame wall hangings -- if you're bold enough to do a video I'd love to see it .
Nick you are so much fun to watch, love your videos, and absolutely, love your wall hanging I think you should do a video showing how you make your beautiful macrame hanging display please. I think you would do a AWESOME job! I'm from Perth Western Australia the lucky country lol
@ start of video I had to hit pause and zoom in for a double look! U will lol at what my eyes thought they saw....which was u with a green spike Mohawk! Ummmm, nope! It was your wall trellis playing a LOL on me! No doubt U could pull off a green plant Mohawk- if ever that was a hair option! 🤪😂 I like your yellow “wall pocket” planter. I have a white one. And I, too, made a plant hanger w a stick! A stick i picked up on the beach moons back on vacation.
Thanks for all the suggestions. It seems inevitable that eventually we will run out of surface space and have to explore more creative ways to bring more plants home. I'm still looking to find a Dischidia to mount in my kitchen but have been unable to find any locally. May have to order one online.
I love the trellis. And I also love the self love where you say you like your macrame plant hangers better than the one you purchased. 😂 Things you make yourself always look the best.
Hi Nick! This was another fun video! I always enjoy your facial expressions, just so cute! Also, you seemed to be having fun making this video. I like all of your ways to display houseplants on walls. Do you still have your Wally Grow planters? Our house was built in 1925 and has lathe and plaster walls, so I'm always nervous driving a nail in them for fear a big chunk of the wall will come off. LOL! I do have a lot of wood window frames and plan on adding the planter rings, or wall hangers on them. I agree, your macrame hangers are so much better than the store bought one. I did macrame years ago and may need to try it again. I have a couple of wall pocket planters, but they're not big enough to put a plant in so I use them for dried flowers. Thank you so much for sharing your ideas with us!
Thank you, Nick! I still love the Tetrasperma on the trellis! I love the ceramic pockets on the wall. Thank you for the tips! I still say you are in a conundrum with being 'at capacity'; there is always a plant out there that you will have to have! Love the video!
Haha looks like we followed the same tutorial for one of the macrame wall hangers. I wonder how many others have that same one holding up their plants😄 And it looks like your plants aren't the only things growing cause that beard is looking great👌🌿
Great video Nick, renters put all the holes in your wall and as long as they are filled in and sanded flush with the wall when you move out they can’t charge you any extra money on your deposit for that because the walls are paint ready and they have to paint anyways when someone moves out, I own a lot of rental properties trust me! If the hole is too big use drywall mesh, it’s not difficult.
Nick, when highlighting the picture ledge I noticed a cool macrame sling hanging off the wall under the ledge. Can you share a little info on that. Did you purchase or make it. Also thanks for all the great ideas. Cooler weather is coming so time to bring some plants back inside and that's when wall real estate becomes limited.
Hi Nick, I have been binge watching your videos since discovered your channel less than 24 hours ago. Do you have a recommendation for creepers in the bathroom ? I have a bathroom without a window and I am looking for creepers that can grow fully in artificial light. Perhaps that could be a topic for a whole episode ? 🙃
My Rhaphidophora Tetrasperma started firmly attaching itself to the wall on its own after a year and now all the other climbers use it as a climbing support.
There is a hook used for hanging pictures. It's a wire you push into the wall with a hook at the end for the picture. The wire grips the inside of the wall making the tiniest hole and the hook can hold the heaviest picture so it can hold a pretty good basket on the wall. I wish I knew what these are called. Maybe someone will recognize my description and can tell you.
Nick, I love you and your ideas!! I have a plant emergency I’m hoping you can help direct me. My parents are moving into assisted living and they have a pot of golden pothos and Ivy that have trailed up the door and up onto a shelf. They want to take it with, cause it the least detriment and have it climb (or not) at their apartment. Help please!!!! I have pics if you want to see them.
I'm looking at those plant to have mounted on wood or cork. Don't they hurt your walls? It seems like they would never dry out enough to be put flush against the wall. So far I'm afraid to hang anything.
I have three plants mounted on cork. I soak them all for about 15 minutes once a week and then let them drip dry over my kitchen sink for a couple hours afterwards. I’ve had the mounted fern for two years and no problems with the wall behind it.
I've just realised you have rather a lot of shared features, voice and mannerisms of boy Scarlett Envy. Just came from her closet tour and to here, and yeah..
“....if you think I own my apartment you’re kidding yourself.” I’m 35 and I felt this so hard.
ugh.. I'm 41 and felt this too..
I cannot wait to have a house with WINDOWS. I've got all my plants shoved up near the balcony door in my dark apartment. So jealous of your beautiful displays. One day....

I love the door hook idea! The tension rod sounds like a recipe for disaster though 😬
Great idea! ❤
Your trellis is iconic :) I can’t see a plant trellis inside without thinking “that reminds me of Nick Pileggi.”
Nick, I don't know what happened during social isolation, but you're so much more fun and enjoyable to watch now!! Super fun, you sound more comfortable in your own skin, less self controlled, more relaxed, I'm living it! And your beard is 🔥🔥🔥

Forget the beard... did you see his brows😳💞
Agreed that was the first thing I noticed. Looks great.

"My macrame hangers have a little bit more character" lol meaning they have charming imperfections
I can still hear the sound of my first self-hanged shelf hitting the floor. 😐
LMAOOO

There are plenty of tutorials on UA-cam. It's actually not that hard, give it a try.

There are a lot of books about making macrame on amazon! Also if you just learn the basic knots you can totally make one from Pinterest!
I learned my watching UA-cam videos. 😊
You could use press and seal on the wall behind mounted plants if you're worried about water damage
I needed this video in my life!
More videos like this please!
