I'd say her actress is a real good performer, being able to keep a straight face, letting it come natural, and all the while doing it in front of Jim Carrey.
People get their natural sense of humor from what they watched and heard from their childhood, sense of humor is part of your personality if you have it.
I remember when this came out in 94 in middle school, where all kids thought they were The Mask, and couldn't stop saying SMOKIN!, Somebody stop me!!!! I decided to outshine everyone by doing the same in a class session. While all the kids laughed their asses and thought that was the funniest thing. The old boring teacher didnt take it funny and kicked me out of class. Yes, Jim Carrey had influence on us with that multi face character. 🤣🤣🤣
I remember watching this scene for the first time. This movie was also the best CGI could give at that time (I know there is minimal CGI in this scene, just him flying off the ramp), but anyway, everybody was just blown away, and when this scene came up, people were belly laughing. I remember thinking this was the funniest scene I've ever seen. The movie was just culminating to this part and at this point we lost it. When I watch it now I can't really get why we had such an explosive reaction, and I miss those times.
I think because it's so over the top and proud of it. I mean, the scene is utterly ridiculous, but in such a good natured, big hearted way you find yourself being drawn into it. Jim Carrey really put everything he had into the scene, he didn't leave one drop at the start gate..
I still love that we have a literal trickster god's power on full display here, and one of the detectives is able to resist it 100% with seemingly no effort.
I personally think the Mask's power just has you give in to the feelings of fun and joy in your heart, and if your fun is pure, it'll infect others and bring out the fun and joy in them. The detective resisting so easily just means he's a miserable person. That's why Stanley is such a living cartoon while wearing it. That kind of stuff is what brings him joy. While Dorian becomes even more savage and cruel, as being a cut-throat gangster and being in control of the room is what makes him smile.
Jim Carey at his best.😂😂😂. Lol. This scene had me rolling on the ground with laughter. This and Ace Ventura Pet Detective , Ace Ventura when nature calls are my all time favorite films from him.
Восхитительно! Всегда поражалась гибкости, пластике, артистичности актёра, его лёгкости в игре. Конечно, за всем этим стоит каторжный труд, и только благодаря ему Джим Керри всегда остаётся неподражаемым и интересным.)
Fun fact, the large teeth were only supposed to be for scenes without talking, but Jim learned to speak well in them and they rolled with it. Good thing too, because it really added to the iconic appearance!
@@Zac_Frost lol either way when i made him and is funny as hell he dont fight but because he does his maskie thing it give disadvantage to opponent. and if we need to steal something well i make a honest living singing and dancing and get paid good tips
Remember me and my mate trying to make out the lyrics to this on a not-to-great DVD back in the day. Good times. Jim was such a great physical performer. Glad they retooled the storyline for him.
This is my childhood trauma :)) I used to be so scared of this strange masked man--now as a grownup I can see how talented this actor actually is! Amazing.
@@chris-dm7uc That's not surprising when you consider that this movie was based on a horror comic. I would highly recommend it if you haven't already read it. especially if you are interested in dark comedy, gore and body horror.
That's understandable considering this dude would have bizarre expressions, like his tongue rolling out like a mat and his eyes sometimes popping out of their sockets. I know this is meant to imitate cartoons, and i won't deny they do it really well, but i wouldn't be surprised if you and other kids got freaked out by it, since it IS kinda jarring and uncanny to see him do what would normally be in a cartoon, but in real life instead.
This is what they will play at his funeral. He will be forever remembered for this scene in this film. It's my favourite Jim Carey moment. He's such a good actor and I love his wackiness and immaturity, my mum hates him but I LOVE him! He's just the right guy for this role. Jim Cary can make you laugh with just his facial expressions alone. There will never be another Jim Carey.

The mask is a powerful treasure that has the effect of manipulating reality, making the wearer immortal, Loki was lucky to pick it up. If anyone in the MCU wears it, I think they can beat Scarlet Witch in Dr.Stranger 2.
