Kevin Kiner is so underrated.
I liked the inclusion of the line by Bane when he hands over the child. If anyone remembers, he was tasked with hunting down children the Jedi wanted by Sidious. Basically just doing the same job for the Empire but its legal now. Also his motif in the episode was great as always
Never liked Bane, overstayed his welcome and seemed too OP. I struggled to believe he would have survived encounters with Late War Anakin.

I've never given Nala Se a pass because of how hard she screwed over Fives by drugging him.
This episode kinda shows what Nala Se has been dealing with for years as an experimenter on children and how she's come to develop at least half a moral conscience. Think of it how the Rebels were put in a situation where they had to incorporate old Confederate holdouts into the rebellion and resist the Empire despite their differences.
For me it changed the way I see her. I feel like she didn’t really know how evil she was, she really believed clones were assets, I think Omega made her realize how wrong she was.

The Dr was raised the same way the children were. She's doing little acts of compassion but she's a prisoner herself. It's not like she can quit her role without consequences.
To add on to that I think in this episode she was able to see for the first time just how far the empire is to go for this research. I feel like before this she was at least somewhat shielded from how bad everything actually is.

This episode solidified what I think in that Omega doesn’t actually have a high M-count herself, but rather that her blood can be used to stabilize other samples with inflated M-counts

It's not a theory, it's been very clearly explained that they' don't want her blood for it's high m count levels, but because it has the ability to BIND m counts to new clones!

Crosshair didn't really _miss_ that shot, he didn't get the chance to shoot in time and when he did the ship had already moved out of range. You can clearly see the tracker fly towards it and then arc downwards, with the ship being further away the whole time.
It was nice that they said Scorch’s name in dialogue for the first time. Before it was only in the credits. I’d like to know what happened to Delta after Kashyyk and order 66 in canon. It would be a great story to tell and show how Scorch is seemingly separated from his squad.
Sounds like it's time for a Republic Commando sequel to me.

@@ironjoebob7 If you go back it’s said only once but it stood out to me. I think it was Doctor Hemlock that said it when they were discussing picking up the kid from the bounty hunter. He called him “Commander Scorch.”
Dr. Karr isn’t “allowing” the empire to do anything, it’s not up to her. She explicitly acknowledges in the episode that she doesn’t have the power to do anything for them. She cares, but her problem is not that she isn’t doing enough, it’s that doing anything risks her being punished and replaced by someone who cares about the children less. Remember, Nala Se cares about people but had to be replaced for doing something to help someone.
The message is that, within an authoritarian structure, only few individuals actually have enough power to noticeably influence and change the institution from within, those few being at the top. No increase of will changes how much power she actually has in her situation.
I love the dark and gritty parts of star wars.
To me, Emerie is a neutral figure whose job is purely for science. She's probably questioning if she too is just a specimen.
I don’t think so, she seems to be showing compassion for the kids and the baby. Pure science doesn’t have to be unethical. If she was just for the science she wouldn’t have left the doll for the girl.
This shows main theme is to humanize and display the depth of character in clones. Clones were constructed to be unquestioning, neutral figures designed for a specific purpose. The entire thing with The Bad Batch is showing each clone is more than that, so I’m surprised you think this way about Emerie
I think that's what Emerie tries to be and tries to find her purpose in life by doing that. But it's clear that she's finding it harder and harder to pretend that she can simply ignore what she sees going on around her and that it's either all for the greater good or its just science. I think because of the way she was "raised" and all she knows is being a scientist she's fi makes here want to be able to turn a blind eye to what she sees or knows because, like many of her clone brothers, she considers her job an integral part of her identity and wouldn't know what to do if she can't continue to be a scientist.

See it coming a mile off, fits Disney's playbook these days. They will never allow a character like her to be evil.

Omega is going to convince Emerie to send the coordinates of Tantiss to the rest of the Batch, they get Rex and the Clone Underground and Mount Tantiss will go up in flames as they free all those imprisoned in there and cause havoc, most of them probably aren't going to make it, we get a bittersweet ending and it will probably tie into a future project, that is my take.
It’s true that Emerie has so far failed to really stand up against evil and try to make real, positive change. However, these small acts of kindness show that she does have a heart, and suggest that she may yet truly redeem herself.
Another thing to note, Emerie probably feels powerless to stop this child experimentation (for now). She barely got the job, the person she’s replaced is now behind bars, and even the on-site security talks down to her. Add onto that the fact that SHE asked for the promotion; it’d raise eyebrows if she suddenly turned it down. She could’ve been promoted to lead of the Empire’s entire scientific division, and it wouldn’t matter, cause she’s being treated like an unappreciated secretary.
Furthermore, there’s likely a palpable danger she felt as soon as she realized the moral depravity of the Empire. If they would go so far as to experiment on children, what might they do to people who step out of line?
Straight facts. Emerie will end up helping those kids escape.
She already wants to, she's just terrified of the potential consequences of trying and failing.
I really like how Nala Se made her realize that she has the power to at least help the children in the hopes that she can do better than she did. Emery has the entire lab, rather the entire project, and she is the only one who can facilitate it's progress that is the power that she has.
I'm definitely getting the feeling Emerie is going to finally turn against the Empire, and Crosshair's failure to hit with the tracking device is setting her up for final good guy turn as what allows Omega to contact the Batch.
Some of the statements seem to imply that she was discarded by Nala Se and then essentially raised by Hemlock. And that can't be good for any child's development.
When Scorch said "I was just following protocols" it sounded similar to "good soldier follows order"

From the EU Commando series, it kinda tracks since Delta stayed with the Empire without too much complaint. There wasn't a whole lot of scenes with Delta but a good portion of the Clone special forces viewed force wielders negatively because they did believe that the jedi betrayed the republic and them.
Man I really wish they did somthing with Boba in this show, maybe not getting directly involed but just some kind of close call
When I heard Cad Bane walking past the door in this episode I thought it was going to be Boba. Sounded a lot like his spurs, and I wish it had've been lol.
Still, it's a nice nod to certain CW storylines involving Cad Bane. He's literally still stealing the same children for the same old man lol
Yeah I saw the Dark Trooper connection when I watched the episodes. I thought it would be related to Phase Zero but it could also be Phase I.
Could be connected to the Death Troopers too. In canon, the Death Troopers also received cybernetic modifications. Maybe the Death Troopers are what the Phase 0 Dark Troopers will eventually be known as.

We only have four episodes left, so sad as I don't want it to end. Seems like it's gonna end with an all out attack on mount tantis to recue omega, the clones and the children. This season has been so good, not a single filler episode, sad for it to end but I doubt it will be the end of this story.
Maybe they'll release another show about Rex's clone Rebellion.

@@nachgebaut4176 I defo think that omega will survive and will end up with ventress. They already said that ventress will appear in future content and given last week's episode it would make sense. Either way I can wait to see what they do next, hopefully they keep this animation style going forward.

Also Omega being a non-growth accelerated clone is no happy coincidence. She's going to be a recurring character in Star Wars for years to come. I'm calling it now, eventually we'll get a live action, adult Omega.
ok Clone Troopers with Green glowing Visors is not something I knew I needed until now and I love it
The operative is clearly a crosshair clone now. Like, his voice starts to break through the scrambler. Other than that, yeah, some solid episodes, and, even if it's sacrilege against Siege of Mandalore, this entire show besides a couple blunders in two is peak animated Star Wars, IMO.
1:01 I'm pretty sure the first image shown is the clone assassins. While the helmet doesn't exactly match the CX's helmet, the shape and outline does (even down to that marking on their forehead) The 2nd image is something we haven't seen at all yet, as it's not even close to the CX's armor.
My guess is CX's are either phase zero dark troopers or pre-dark troopers (potentially just test units to see how effective a cyborg like unit could be) and the picture we see on his screen is of a more modern version than the ones we've seen so far (with more dark troopery like visors.) While the second image is either the phase zero or 1 dark troopers.
From my point of view, it looked more like crosshair's beacon fell short, not missed. I probably just saw it wrong though

I'm sure hundreds, if not thousands of clones ended up stranded and cut off from communication with the GAR on various remote worlds during the Clone Wars, forgotten about and left to their own devices.
Cut and Gregor were just a couple that we *knew* of. I guarantee there were many more.

Hopefully we get an explanation for Scorch's vast change in demeanor. I know his personality is non-canon, but it would be a nice gesture for SWRC fans.
Season 2 episode 2 Tech used the word domicile. The assassin used the word in episode 11.
And the assassin was able to break Phees encryption. Granted, if the assassin is Tech, then shouldn’t he already know that the Batch is in Pabu? If it’s Tech, maybe the procedure used to indoctrinate him made him lose some of his memory, including where he lived
It's also 100% Tech's voice actor if you listen close. He has the slight accent difference that Tech has.

I think Omega has a second tracker, or there was just a visual inconsistency. The point-and-spot scanner clearly showed a positive detection on her right-side pouch, and then she pulled the tracker that she turned over out from her left side.
That was my immediate thought. She had two trackers and only handed over one. Her and Crosshair are too intelligent to think that they wouldn't find it.
But if they find one after Omega feigns trying to "hide" it, they *may* overlook the possibility of another. Slim chance, but better than none.
Crosshair trying to get another tracker on the ship was a third failsafe imo.
I mean, Omega can accept force sensitive blood, so maybe she become a force user with a blood transfusion? Would be kinda wacky, but it’s definitely possible.
It's doesn't work like that. Others may use her blood to retain M-count of hosts in clones, but I don't think Omega's blood accepts high M-count blood from others naturally. To me, it just retains M-count of her host, Jango Fett, and nothing more. It's just happens that others may exploit that trait to do the same with other clones and their hosts, including Palps.

Anyone else think the assassin is Tech? There’s been hints between highlighting his goggles, a lot of time spent on how cold and calculated he is. He’s not been portrayed as some random bad guy but has been highlighting him…

personally i feel like if CX-2 is anyone Tech would have the most dramatic weight to it (esp since Omega is now in his vicinity), but with only four eps left (albeit with the finale likely being longer than normal) i'm not gonna hold my breath for even a reveal

I personally think it will be someone we know, but I'm not sure who. I think it would be a bit silly for it to be Tech, but it *would* have a lot of emotional weight behind it, like you said, and SW does have a habit of choosing emotional stuff like that over what makes the most rational sense.
I personally think Cody is more likely, especially seeing as we've had zero mention of or updates on him since he went AWOL, and I think he would've found and linked up with Rex and Echo's operation by now if he was out on his own and free. He's too smart not to have.
But I hope to god it's neither.
Tech deserves his peace in death, and Cody is too much of a hero to me personally for me to want him back if that's the condition.
Another point for it being Cody though is he continued working for the Empire till his death in Legends, and we know Filoni still likes acknowledging the EU and finding inspiration in it.
It’s ether a clone of crosshair which I personally thing is what the case is the movement the subtle hints of his voice mixed with a regular clones voice his accuracy and not to mention the range finder on his helmet so that what I’m going with the other option is Cody I’m sorry to all the people that think it’s tech but it just isn’t and honestly I’ll be disappointed if it turns out to be him because at the end of they day I’m not saying all of them are going to die but we are going to start to lose people in the next four episodes and I just think it’s a waste to bring him back plus like other people have said it would make his sacrifice void like I say it’s ether Cody or crosshair clone but I’m mainly going with the clone we know
crosshair turned on the empire because of how they treated another clone who wanted to serve the empire like crosshair once that happened he realised even the ones who want to be apart of it dont matter one bit if that didn’t happen I honestly belive he’d still be apart of it and I think hemlock knows that like crosshair said hemlock is smart very smart if your gonna have a cx assassin you might as well have it be a clone or probably excluding sev the best sniper and the clone who always did what was needed to be done I think Cody it could just be a case of wherever Rex and echo are they are finding more clones to recruit and wouldn’t surprise me if when we see him next and the clones he’s with Cody is already part of it

It seems pretty clear that Moff Gideon was connected to at lease some of the research that stemmed from Mt Tantiss. It would be pretty awesome to have that connection formalized into canon…
I have already seen it discussed that the CX troopers might be the equivalent to Phase 0 Dark Troopers, so Hemlock's upgrade(?) seen here I think could easily lead into the introduction of actual Dark Troopers, especially since with Phase 1 they would probably be the most organic (given how in canon Phase 3 is the opposite of Legends where they become completely mechanical), and Hemlock seems most involved in biological science so it makes sense it would be him involved here.
In Dr. Car's defense, what difference can she make so far. She didnt know about the children until now. Yes, shes been heartless towards the clones (which is a big knock on her moral compass in my book) but she does care about children.
Until now, she didnt know about the children. Now that she knows, she doesn't know what to do. It does the children nothing for her to be reckless and fail. That only results in them getting worse treatment and her death. She has to wait for the right moment and the right plan to make a real difference.
I always thought proto Dark Troopers were going to be mentioned in Bad Batch, it felt like it in season 1, and Season 3 is starting to make me believe it more.
The entire series needs to be brighter. I have watched the entire series at night with all sources of light off.
Aha yeah, it doesn't help that I only have a phone screen to watch it on too lol. A lot of scenes are well lit but the dark scenes are veryyyyyy dark and I sometimes have trouble discerning details 😅
To be fair though, I'm not complaining. The story that it tells is amazing and I'm glad we have it at all.
It gives me the same nostalgia I had watching new episodes of TCW every Wednesday on TV as a kid. Come to think of it, the Umbara arc was impossible to watch if it was still daylight or there was any glare on the screen too aha

@@Cameron39829I’ve noticed it. There are times when it sounds like a normal clone, but then sounds like cross hair, and it sounded like tech a little bit one time. They’re definitely messing with us to keep us guessing

I gotta love the moxie of Dave Filloni, like Disney said this show is done after this season but he's clearly not going to be done all these plot threads because he's sure (and I'm sure he's right) that fans will push Disney to green light a follow up show/a new season.
One of the things that sets you apart from the rest of the Star Wars youtube community is that you are an attorney (I am too). You look at these stories with an analytical mind that other folks don't have, and it deepens the lore and the fun I have with the lore. So, thank for getting that law degree!

I understand what you mean about the show being dark. Even with curtains drawn, it can be hard to see what is going on. This has been a problem since the beginning. And yes, I've adjusted my TV's settings, it's only a few shows like Bad Batch where it gets so dark it's hard to make out what's happening.
I personally really, really want to see an opening to the Battle of Coruscant! Show us the shock, the spectacle of the fleet forced to confront a force far greater than what they were prepared for, and the efforts of a brave clone pilot to disable the communications jammer to allow for help to be called!

Bane doesn’t care. He was saying whatever he could about Boba Fett to smear his name and get Cobb and the villagers to question their commitment to Fett.

I have a theory regarding the CX trooper. I might be the only person who thinks this, but I think that he is Crosshair. Now, hear me out. Crosshair's a clone, so that Angle is covered. We also know that it is (somewhat) possible to transplant memories in the Star Wars Galaxy (at least via the Force, but whos to say they can't do it through technology either). It also explains the captured CX troopers' reaction to Crosshair when they met on Teth, as well as the who teasing of who it might be, but also Crosshair's hand shaking problem. And to further reinforce this theory, these last two episodes had a couple of instances where the CX trooper sounded a lot like our favourite Sniper...
I think the Bad Batch are going to get help from Ventress, and/or another bounty hunter to track down Omega using another force sensitive child.
Im assuming the Clone Operative is a clone of Crosshair or there is the possibility it is Crosshair and the one we think is the original is actually a clone which is why he has the accuracy problem. Just spitballing here

I think the inhibitor chips in the commando's heads are working overtime. Thats the only way Scorch would lose his sense of humor.
In Legends he lost his humor and got really ruthless about following orders when Sev went missing, perhaps something similar happened in Canon and this is the result?

Based on how RC's are designed and trained to operate, it wouldn't make sense to separate him from the rest of his squad *if* they were still around.
This isn't the same Scorch. The same people that wrote him in the game 20 years ago aren't the same people writing him now. He's just another baddy for the Batch to take down

My theory is that because the clone assassin landed where Ventress did, batcher found the ship and showed hunter to it, or hunter guessed that's where the assassin's ship would be. He's either on board or affixed a tracker himself.
Mount Tanntis is straight out of resident evil tbh, with all the abominations Hemlock is working on (like that Bio Weapon vine monster)

Well if you take Heir to the Empire into account then Mount Tantiss gets sealed in the finale and the story gets picked up again in Mandalorian and Grogu or a different Mando movie so you don't need a new animated series to pick up where Bad Batch left off.

Emily Carr is at least nine years old if she has the accelerated growth of all the regular clones she is easily manipulated to think in the way of what is going on and what she’s working for she has no idea the politics that are involved in her creations, and everything else that’s going on. she is now seeing how everything is not good and and she starting to see herself within these kids knowing that what’s going on is not good. Some people have to come to the realization first and then take action and that’s what we will see in the next four episodes.

We also see that dark/assassin trooper when hemlock is looking at that cryo tube, so could a heavily modified clone be in that tube? Could it maybe be tech mid process of becoming one of these dark troopers as his body would’ve been heavily damaged we’ve seen echo be revived after being blown up in a similar cryo state, using his corpse as a weapon vs the clones would be a massive psychological trip. It could also be an early palpatine clone but that doesn’t seem as exciting like a dark trooper of a recognizable clone

I was thinking that omega was going to reach out to the crew through the force like how vader did luke in empire. not that it disclosed information but it may be something that can help guide the crew to omega. Obviously omega doesnt have the force ability to be able to do that. and i think her being confirmed in being a binding agent for cloning force sensitive people means that she isnt force sensitive but has the genetic potential to procreate a force sensitive child. Like she has the recessive gene or something. (not a geneticist lmao).
