What exactly do you guys mean? Typically when they say keep your expectations low, it's implied that you do quite literally that you keep your expectations low. And it turned out exactly the way it is expected, and to be honest with you I didn't watch it I just knew it was going to be shit everything Disney shits out is quite literally shit, everything they put out is shit especially over the last decade. The Jedi in this show don't steal kids or force them to leave, either. What are you talking about...? Also, these kids are 8, Anakin was 11. Kids are normally taken on as Jedi younglings around age 4. 4 years later isn't that big of a stretch. Also, there's a lot more than just that going on here. A lot of which we don't know yet, due to this episode being primarily from one of the two kids' point of view. The show is presenting this as a mystery that will be revealed over the course of the season. We can judge it based on the merits of the full story once it's out, but not before (at least not in good faith).
Well Qui-Gon was also the kindest most humane Jedi of Yodas Order. He bent rules and went out his way all the time to help and do the right thing. Unlike anyone else he understood Anakin had to be handled diffrent due to his advanced age and already exsisting bonds. He is not the other Jedi. They were still better then ...whatever this is. But they were not Qui-Gon. Qui-Gon the only one really in tune with the force and goodness.

For the sake of clarity, *no,* the Jedi didnt just _take_ random force-sensitive children from their families. They would find the _baby_ and talk it over with the parent/s _first._ Then there are three options; - The parents give their child to the Jedi for the honour of getting to be a Jedi or for a better life, and that's that. - If the parents want to raise their kid first then they work it out with the Jedi when their kid can join within the required age limit (four to six years old I think?) This can be necessary depending on what species the baby even is. - The parents refuse to give up their child, the Jedi say "Okay" and leave, because without actual training and guidance the odds of the force-sensitive child getting any stronger in the force is miniscule. Even if there were children exceptionally powerful in the Force, the Jedi would always try to find them _younger than eleven_ because that's when they've already formed deep bonds with others. At that point it's better to leave them be and hope for the best. But that was all pre-Disney Jedi rules and nothing matters anymore. Oh well.

Rather have a Kyle Katarn trilogy honestly. The Dark Forces games would have made for a great set of movies. Dark Forces 1 is what Rogue One should have been. Episodes 7-9 could have been Jedo Knight 1&2, with an ending being the start of Jedi Academy, showing the new padawans about to be trained.

Disney doesn't know how to write the hero's journey. They keep essential rules to telling a hero story. All the female characters are born with power (ex: Rey has all the force powers with minimal training). Meanwhile, Luke and Han Solo are nobodies that get sucked into adventure, they make mistakes and have their own failures, learn from it, and triumph in the end.

Galen/Starkiller: Vader killed his father while he was a kid, basically kidnap him and trained him as his assasin. Fallen Order: The plot of the game is to recover a holocron that contains a list of force sensitive children so they can't be abducted into Inquisitors. Anakin: He became Vader as an adult but Palpatine always manipulated him ever since he was a kid.

Realistically, painting the Jedi as something slightly below 'Force for Good' isn't the most Lore-Unfriendly idea and the Sith (with some Jedi even) already had this narrative in place in older Star Wars media.
Painting the Jedi as VILLAINS, however, is several steps over the mark and it flies in the face of the established Star Wars lore.

For the sake of clarity, *no,* the Jedi didnt just _take_ random force-sensitive children from their families. They would find the _baby_ and talk it over with the parent/s _first._ Then there are three options;
- The parents give their child to the Jedi for the honour of getting to be a Jedi or for a better life, and that's that.
- If the parents want to raise their kid first then they work it out with the Jedi when their kid can join within the required age limit (four to six years old I think?) This can be necessary depending on what species the baby even is.
- The parents refuse to give up their child, the Jedi say "Okay" and leave, because without actual training and guidance the odds of the force-sensitive child getting any stronger in the force is miniscule.
Even if there were children exceptionally powerful in the Force, the Jedi would always try to find them _younger than eleven_ because that's when they've already formed deep bonds with others. At that point it's better to leave them be and hope for the best.
But that was all pre-Disney Jedi rules and nothing matters anymore. Oh well.

Rather have a Kyle Katarn trilogy honestly. The Dark Forces games would have made for a great set of movies. Dark Forces 1 is what Rogue One should have been.
Episodes 7-9 could have been Jedo Knight 1&2, with an ending being the start of Jedi Academy, showing the new padawans about to be trained.
Except the Jedi/X-Men analogy falls apart when you remember the Jedi don't train children who are too old. But the whole show is predicated on the premise that the Jedi want Mae and Osha which why would they? The Council refused to train Anakin, the freaking Chosen One. Disney doesn't know how to write the hero's journey. They keep essential rules to telling a hero story. All the female characters are born with power (ex: Rey has all the force powers with minimal training). It's a terrible message to kids because it basically says you are born with all your innate value and if you got a bad draw in the Ovarian Lottery, too bad. Meanwhile, Luke and Han Solo are nobodies that get sucked into adventure, they make mistakes and have their own failures, learn from it, and triumph in the end.
Star Wars lost its identity a long time ago. Disney is just beating its corpse.

Galen/Starkiller: Vader killed his father while he was a kid, basically kidnap him and trained him as his assasin.
Fallen Order: The plot of the game is to recover a holocron that contains a list of force sensitive children so they can't be abducted into Inquisitors.
Anakin: He became Vader as an adult but Palpatine always manipulated him ever since he was a kid.

Nothing in DSW is good. All roads lead to the sequel trilogy, thus tarnishing EVERYTHING. Mandelorian leads to Rey. Ahsoka leads to Rey. Boba Fett leads to Rey. Acolyte destroys everything. It's all trash, and it should all burn.

I agree with your take about force sensitive people needing to be trained. The series Babylon5 had the PsyCorp who took telepaths to train them, Why.. because can you imagine hearing dozens of voices in your head or yelling and giving everyone around mental anguish. If, after your training, you want to go evil, fine. But at least you will the skills to aim the force properly.
