See how I build a ultra smooth wooden jump for mountain bikes in 7 days to add to our flow trail in Steelville Missouri! This is the third and final feature we're doing for this trial build series. I got this building done in a real hurry but I think it turned out great!
Watch how I start and finish this project from scratch using concrete, freshly cut wood, and a whole lot of patience. It's all in the details, and regardless of our crunched timeline, our goal is to consistently deliver a quality experience with our own unique style. Be sure to stick through to the end of the video for a very special limited-time offer!

Welcome to the official UA-cam Channel of Backyard Trail Builds - Detailed videos on Trail Building 🛠
Hi, my name is Seth Gebel and I grew up in Catawissa, Missouri just outside of St. Louis. I'm very fortunate to have a playground of woods to build whatever I see fit in because Missouri riders don’t get much feature time. I’d love to change that! Hopefully, someday we’ll be able to push a build-along that benefits the public here in St Louis for MTB skills progression. For now, though, I build every weekend and film for you all to watch!
➡️ On this channel, you'll find trail-building videos with music and step-by-step shots that keep you entertained and informed! Builds like road gaps, berms, jumps, drops, trail flow, skinnies, and many others!
Combining my love of mountain bikes, woodworking, and creating something from nothing, stick around to see just where my wild mind takes me next!
What started out as a passion project for building fun and exciting trails in my literal backyard, has grown into so much more. (Giant lizard bike jump, anyone?) Be sure to watch for builds, tips, and special offers each week.
If you love adventures and seeing wild and lofty ideas, come to life, subscribe to my channel for new videos every Sunday at 11 am Central! Hit that bell to never miss a video! 🔔

Awesome series Seth we need more like this
Never gets tiring to see your feature building skills. Just another stellar example of your dedication to the craft.
Dopo aver visto un po' di tuoi video ho deciso di iniziare a fare Trail Building pure io...
Going this Saturday! Stoked it'll be open!!
Imagine taking the decorative part at the end of the decking, but flipping it the other way so it's like a curb...
glad to see you back pumping out the vids - one of the MTB-YT-GOATS
So much amazing work! I cannot wait to see the ride next week! Woo! 🤘
Your builds are next level…so cool!
wow ! this is next level trail building !
Shoulda just called it the skump
Nah
facts
Ye
No
Very nice. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Sick build! Love the angled feature along the edges, definitely a nice touch.
Haven’t even
Finished watching its already amazing
Love ur vids
Absolutely awesome
peak workflow
Yay!!! Stocked to hear there's another video next Sunday, when you said this is the last jump thought you might of gone on hiatus again.. 🤣🤣🤙🤘
The beveled Ends look great!
One of the few people on youtube who understands sapwood!
It rode really good!!!!!!
that will fun as u know what im older id still try it maybe a landing ramp for beginners so its smooth easy
i love this channel! every video is fun to watch!
Great video and great feature. I really wish I lived closer so I could ride all these trails that you and other youtubers are building. Every video I watch I get just a little more inspiration to start building my own trails in the backwoods. Hopefully I retained a few things from your videos. Thanks.
Another great build!
Yo love that you’re posting more
Nice job man. This is so cool.
SICK
Video and editing so good lately! Been watching since beginning of CV. Love it.
Art work
Really enjoy your videos, came out great 👍😎
the transitions are sick
You're a real dude! I like your dog too.
Loving your work man 👍
What a boss.
Sweet!
Sick Video 🤟
Love the vids !!!!
👍great job Seth ❤Grandma McK !
You kill your editing and voice overs man. Best building channel on UA-cam!
Nothing is stronger than muscle built on work!
Very Nice job 👌
nice vid
Great video bro. Awesome features. Can’t wait to see the trail. Wish I had a million dollars to get you to South Carolina and build a trail for me. You’re an artist man🤘🏻🤘🏻
Get yourself some 5 gallon buckets, fill them half full and carry two at a time you will carry six shovel falls in one load much more efficient also in mixing concrete keep your dry dry and then mix wet and slightly or slowly introduce the dry into the wet, add water accordingly
Great job dude :)
As an idea I am absolutely stealing this
Very cool! I'd call it the "Jesus Jump or JJ" (coz fish) 😁
Never did I think I would see the words “creamy” and “ramp in the same sentence
nice
Love the builds but I wanna see someone ride it!
Where’s the riding video? I was really looking forward for that one.
Someone get my man a concrete mixing drill bit!
Use a Home Depot bucket to fill up with concrete and walk it over to where you need to pour it. Less trips and easy to clean out.
A flush cut bit on a router makes transferring that curve to other boards a breeze
don’t forget to vibrate the concrete when you have alot of it in height, like in the sonotube. and adding rebar inside them would be alot stronger
I love watching your videos. There very cool and hit me interested in mountain biking.
Have you tried adding the concrete mix into a heavy duty contractor bag, tying off and rolling the bag instead of mixing in the wheelbarrow?
3 uploads in less than 3 weeks 😮
🤘
What a great build! What was the song in the last 15 seconds?! So good
As I develop and build trails on our 74 acre property I will be using your video library as a guide.
What chainsaw do you recommend or use ? Currently I have a Husqvarna 240 (38cc) and in my novice experience it seems it's not big enough for felling 15" + trees.
I live 3 hours away from steelvile mo
So will this trail be open Saturday? I happen to be driving through the area, would love to check out a new system.
new video!!
What park is this at? I’m in Missouri, super stoked to see mountain biking really taking off here!
Definitely would enjoy these more if you spent some time showing the feature being ridden. I know you're saving it all for one video but I just find that I don't care about the build that much if we don't even get to see it working. Love the stuff you build though!
Bro please make a cool trail in Kansas City
Looks like you could jump over the entire wood feature from the dirt roller before
i want to know what your height (cm) and what frame size your siskui T8 because i want to change my frame with T8.hope your information can help me
Where do I go to watch the video where you ride everything?? I can't find it on your channel is it somewhere else???
ARE YOU EVER GONNA POST THE VID OF YOU RDING THE WHOLE TRAIL.
Hey what program do you use?
there is a ski jump for bikes a coronet peak
what happend to howler bike park
No way, the footage you showed of ski jumping was Norge ski club in Fox River Grove, Illinois
Love that you are building barefoot👍
Hows the gap out of it working? The rider at the end looks like he scrubbed it pretty good
You def need to scrub it or check up a bit before. I overshot the hell out of it after preriding it and ended up with a gnarly concussion. Still love Seth's builds, but this landing could have been built bigger or way farther away. All good, know for next time 🤙
What app did you use at 0:18?
I have a problem with this... You built it way too far away from NZ 😜🤘
👏👏👏👏👏👌🤙🍻❤️
Where is the full ride video?
Love the bike design ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L and functionality. It is hard to align the front tired to center the disk brakes. The brake wheel touches the stationery side of the brake caliper and pad. I aired the tire up to 40 psi as the markings say 40-60psi. Left the house for a few hours and came back to an exploded innertube. All in all it seems to be a good bike. Have not ridden it yet though so that's the max of my knowledge. Update, put a new innertube made sure the tire was set properly and it did the same thing in under 20 minutes as second pic shows.
lets go 5th coment
Cool Seth, but what about leave an image of your dog 🐕 🐕 in every project you've done,,,,,
Why do you have so little footage of people riding the features you build? UA-cam shows it's the section of video with the most views. I'd like to see riders of different skill levels riding them, a few runs, a few tricks etc. Would definitely get more people into watching the build. A 3 second slow mo clip doesn't get me excited to watch. You do some awesome builds!
working with concrete with sandals is ballsy af
hmm it says 2 views but 43 likes idk how that works
No ski jump go up... Mostly lightly down...
so wheres the riding video??
Brutha when the trails over keep posting something else I love your content
You really need to wear a mask when mixing concrete
Probably just pull up before and clear the howl wood 😂
Tell bikes online they need to quit discriminating against small people 😁
Why A Fish??
Concrete and no shoes is a big nono for so many reasons....
Your concrete is always too wet, the drier the stronger it will be
Hi. I think you need to take some time and take a quick tour of Woodglut website to find out how to do this.
Tell bikesonline that their ebike selection is lacking.
There’s no reason why you can’t mix your concrete in the tubes.
Thousands of lifetime projects with Woodglut plans.
