I've had my bunny for two years, I don't pick her up often since she dosent like it, but if I have to she's fine with it as long as its a short period of time. I don't typically hold her because I understand her boundaries. However bella (my bunny) loves to be on top of me 24/7, she loves to sleep on my chest or pressed up next to my side. I love my bunny and we have such a great bond
why are so many pets called "Bella"? I mean, 2 of my teachers have a dog named Bella, and That Vegan Teacher has a vegan dog named Bella, and now this? Not trying to be offensive, but it's just so weird.
The "they forgive you" one is so true. When they know that they are loved, they shake off the grudges (vet visits). Being sassy and being themselves is def a beautiful thing to see. I wish I'd be at #1 with my bun, not quite there yet. Love your look in this video, btw.
Definitely being sassy. Whenever my bun wants to set boundaries he'll grunt at me to let me know he's being annoyed. That vs hiding from you it's def a sign of trust.
My current bunny is almost 11 years old and he's doing great. He's my 4th indoor bunny over the last 30 years. He's a Broken Rex with velvety fur and incredibly affectionate and does most of what's mentioned in this video. He's not much of a "flopper" but we have a special bond. When you spend the time to get to know your bunny and give them top level care you will reap the rewards!
@Brenda we have a lot in common it was about 30 years ago when I got my first House Bunny. I've had two mini rexes. My girl Domino, is that beautiful chocolate brown with a little reddish tone and she has a white collar and chest but when she stands up you see the brown spots on the front of her legs and her chest that's why I named her Domino. She's six right now and I'm already having anxiety about her growing older. Your boy is 11 that's great that he's still doing well! I wish I could see pictures of him. We rescue rabbits here in Eugene Oregon and we often get a lot of bunnies who are just getting older and having problems and so people just surrender them. They are pretty hard to rehome and especially to find the correct people to trust them with but we find that often times the senior citizens seem to bond well together so we sort of have our own personal retirement home and we're lucky enough to have a couple of fosters who are compassionate enough to hospice these bunnies at the end of their lives. They deserve the very best especially in their final years. My best friend is the one who has the rabbit rescue and she had a mini rex with almost the exact same coloring as mine and her rabbit live to be 13 years old. Her name was thumper and she was the reason my friend began the rabbit rescue and her whole life is dedicated to this. Wishing you the best of luck to both of you
@@kathywillett3920 wow yes we do have much in common in the "bunny world"...he is my 2nd minirex too! My last was a male minirex and so is this one and both were black & white. Cute how you named your girl...similar to my story! When he was just 3 months old I got him and wanted a cutesy masculine name for him so when I saw the black spots on his white belly I thought of "Rocky" as the spots resembled rocks. I will be so heartbroken when he passes; we're almost inseparable. That's great how you and your friend are doing rescues. I wish I knew how to send you a picture through here.
Mine is going on 13 years.. he's an angora rabbit... and basically is a combination between a dog and a cat regarding his personality.. he fetches . .. he loves to chase and being chased.. follows me around.. pushes doors open to follow me..Does a lot of tricks.. he loves to be fed mouth to mouth.. he is amazing!!.. I definitely understand where you are coming from
My rex Rufio is a tricolor (idk if there’s a certain name, calico maybe?) anyways he’s super similar, he never really flops and we’re still working on our bond since he’s a relatively new addition to the family (so he doesn’t lick me yet, there’s a couple others he doesn’t do yet too) but I just found it funny that so many rexes in the comments i see are sorta similar personality wise. Your bunny sounds super cute
10: They let you pick them up or hold them 9: They forgive you 8: They let you hand-feed them 7: They sleep with or around you 6: They flop around you 5: They don't flinch around you 4: They listen to you when you speak 3: They lick you 2: Their personalities shine around you 1: They view you as their equal
I love this video and I agree with the forgiveness part. As a bunny parent, you will inevitably make mistakes. Having them acknowledge you and still want you in their life afterwards, is a huge compliment that you should not take for granted--and that applies to pretty much any relationship!
My baby is with me since last Saturday. He is almost 3 months old. This first week together was so strange for both of us, but I guess that we are doing great! I can hand-feed him from the very first time. Now he let's me pet him, also I can hold him. He is a very curious and brave bunny. The potty training goes quite well too! I have to thank you Lorelei for your videos, because you really help me every time. I've been watching them since I decided to have a bunny. You helped me to be prepaired. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I've had my bunny for almost 1 yr. She was abandoned and possibly been caged her whole life. I also didn't ditch the cage because it was her comfort but door is completely taken off and mainly used as a litter. After giving her all the space she slowly started hanging out. She moves between her hidey home or just hangs out in her area. After 1 yr she now let's me pet her, take food from me, walk around her without frightening her and she follows me when she knows it's time to eat. I know she still doesn't fully trust me. Slowly but surely. Worth every bit of wait to get this far though 💖 love your videos!!!
I have a rabbit that I’ve owned for 4 years, I’ve had him since he was 4 months old, and he does every single one of these. He is quite literally my heart and I have never felt as strong a bond or as much love from anyone as I do from him. He grooms me then I groom him, I lay down and he comes and flops right up next to me. I have another rabbit that I haven’t even owned for a year yet and we are still very much in the acquaintance phase. She will let me touch her and she will eat from my hand but she can still be a bit flinchy at times. I don’t think people understand how much work goes into bonding with rabbits. Also, I have a rabbit who was an inbred grey angora (he was a rescue) and he is also Vienna marked! Lovely video, Lorelei!
A week ago my husband and I adopted a now 10 week old bunny, and I can’t believe how much she trusts us already 😭❤️ she licks us, lets us pet her, takes naps by us when she’s out (she has to be supervised since she’s little and we have dogs), she’s taken pellets and hay from my fingers, and she doesn’t mind when we walk around near her when she’s out. Your videos have been great for getting her comfortable, thank you so much 😊💕
This makes me feel so good about my relationship with my bun, Chewbacca. She is my first pet rabbit and I have worked so hard to give her the best life and she does nearly all of these things just like you describe. I feel so accomplished as a bun owner. All I've wanted was for her to be happy and feel safe and confident.
I got my two bunnies almost 1 month ago and they let me do all these things exeptialy holding, hand feeding, they run to me when I call them and they groom me so I am really happy!
this makes me happy. ☺️ i got a bunny from a sanctuary about 3 months ago. seeing her love and trust me now is so encouraging and strangely emotional. 😂 this video is reassuring we are going in the right direction.
Kassidy... In my opinion there is nothing at all strange about how emotional it feels to receive the love and trust of a bunny!! From as far back as I can remember I have loved animals so much, I always had dogs growing up.. not many people had house bunnies in those days. We all know how close a person can become to a dog and dogs definitely show us that they love us in obvious ways that are easy for us to pick up on. But the love of a bunny is something out of this world. Knowing that they are so vulnerable makes you want to do everything you can to let them know that they're safe and protected and loved. And when we see that they actually know this and thank us for it and love us for it, can bring out emotions in us that we didn't even know we had! I've had a few house rabbits, and I love them so much that sometimes it's hard for me just to watch them because they are just pure love pure innocence and purely trusting you they literally put their lives in your hands. I find myself just hanging out with them and watching them and oftentimes I just cry my head off at how beautiful they are and how much love I feel. Talk about strangely emotional, lol, it's hard sometimes to just enjoy and be happy with them because I'm crying because of how much I love them! I know I have to enjoy them during their time on Earth here with me but it's so hard not to think about how devastated I will be when they get old and have to pass on. Hopefully you're a little bit more well-balanced than I am haha but don't be surprised at how strangely emotional will become strangely over emotional, as the years go on. Your comment really touched me because you got your bunny from a sanctuary, and that tells me that you already know that these bunnies are the ones that need love the most and many have had to endure some hardships before they found you and decided to once again trust and love another human. Whether their past was very tragic, or just lonely and ignored, the fact that you cared enough to get a rabbit that was rescued shows how big your heart is and I promise you bunnies always know when a person has a big heart and a lot of love for them particularly just for them. There's nothing more rewarding in this world than that experience, as far as I'm concerned anyways. Wishing you both the best!!💝💝🐇
i rescued my bunny almosta year ago she doesnt really do anything on her shell flop sometimes and eat from my hand sometimes but thats about it i almost never pick her up idk what to do to make her trust me more ive watched so many videos but nothing seems to help what did you do to get your bunny to trust you in 3 months?
I found my rabbit in parking place a 14 months ago. She afraided from me and afraided from every touch. Now I am a halfway of your list. Thank you- it was usefull to know your "Banny trust list"!
Can we just appreciate how much Lorelei does for the bunny community? You've really helped us how to take care of our buns and give them the best life possible. A life that they deserve! Keep up the great work! 👍🥰🐰 BTW, to those who are new to taking care of a bunny. Trust is something you can't demand from a bunny, you have to earn their trust! Rabbits have BIG hearts 💖and they all have very special and unique personalities! They are also PREY animals, so don't hover above them! Spend time with them and be patient with them, and eventually, they will be yours as much as you are theirs. 💖🐰🌈 Hoppy Holidays Lennon, Lorelei and Lennies! 🥳🐰

Absolutely loved the no.1 reason 😭 makes me so happy because every time I pet my bunny he licks my hand or my face straight back. We also share a banana every Tuesday together, I take a bite and he takes a bite 😁
@@kathywillett3920 He loves dehydrated strawberries Willow leaves Pellets and his daily salads of dill Arugola, green leaf, parsley, cilantro, radicchio, fennel,
@@cassandra2685 well that is wonderful. He sounds like he's slightly more spoiled than my girls are... That's quite a gourmet salad and I'm sure it's made with lots of love. People just don't know the joy that rabbits can bring unless they have one. Isn't it wonderful to be able to give him all those special herbs and beautiful things instead of just romaine and pellets?!!
@@cassandra2685 that's funny my girls get almost the same things, I'm always searching for willow trees though I can't find them very often and I haven't presented them with fennel yet. I don't know if you've ever had the joy of experiencing GI stasis with him but one of my rabbits is very prone to it the other one is not. My best friend rescues rabbits here in Eugene Oregon, and she told me about blackberry leaves. She gives them to all her rabbits every night and they've never ever gone through stasis and since I've been giving them to my girls Domino hasn't had it either. She swears that they can just eat the leaves with all the prickles and all and that they know how to get around it somehow. I've searched so many articles about it online and everybody says the same thing but I still can't bring myself to give them the leaves with the little thorns on the back so it's my nightly ritual to run out and trim the good cup of them loosely packed it might be two cups and then I'll trim the back of the leaves while I'm watching a TV show. They go nuts over these they love them so much and it's very good for their digestion. I always want to see people's bunnies on my chat with them it's like showing off pictures of your kids and we all think we have the most beautiful bunnies in the whole world and the neat thing about it is there's so many different kinds. Anyways it was nice talking to you and I'm very happy for your rabbit he must be in 7th heaven when it's time to eat!
My rabbit does all these. I have had him since he was 3 months old. He had GI stasis when he was one. Then right after he made it through, his one ear had a hole filled with puss. He just turned 7 in April and he's doing great.
my bunny actually likes when i carry him. he doesn’t freak out or anything , he stays calm :) and i hand feed him treats and spring mix here and there ! AND he flops ALL THE TIME !! it’s actually funny to me lol ! i’m actually in the process of free roaming him since he knows his way around the whole house :) i’ve had him since he was 8 weeks and he is now 6 months so i think he is comfortable with me and my family 🐰🤎
My rabbit was bottle fed and hand raised since he was born, raised with cats and even grooms them. [his mother was neglectful, we had to step in.] He was always my little hand baby and would sleep in my shirt a bunch, now that hes bigger now and plays with our guinea pigs, our cats, binkies around the house and even loves a good game of Get your bum. I get licked ALL the time and also get to cuddle and watch him flop, hes amazing
My bunny passed today. He was young, but very sick. We tried so hard and did everything we could (the vets too). Brings me peace the fact that he really trusted us and that we were able to make his life so good for as long as we could. I'm in tears, but he's no longer in pain. Out little angel 😔🥺
I just love the relationship you and Lennon have. It's so beautiful to see. I've had rabbits since I was 5 years old and have never known all the stuff you teach about rabbits. I'm happy to know that my Henry trusts me at least to some degree, actually he checked most of the boxes and even my grandbunny checked the boxes. Of course, how could she not love Grandma when I bring her treats.
Love Your Show me and my wife have had our fur babies Buns for over 20 years now. My wife told me worst gift I ever gave her was Willow which was her first bunny boy I brought home to her but also the best. I believe she loved him more than me and I still do. My wife has helped out with a local rescue several times. Unlike you we have had several rescues over the years in which they have been house rabbits and always get a lot of exercise. One of guys gets the whole house to roam. With a house that is completely bunny proof. Your show is wonderful weather you have 1 bunny or 2 these guys can take up a lot of your time especially if they get sick. I love that you educate people on how to properly look after a bunny. Me and my wife love your channel don’t stop keep learning and educating others. You will never know how much your bunny loves you until you fall asleep on the couch waking up with bunny claws on your chest and getting licked on your face and bald head.
Thank you for the great information. My bunny likes to lay in the hallway but she doesn't move when I need to go past her, I usually have to step over or around her depending on how she is blocking the way. She also has a habit of coming over to me every evening for some head petting, if I stop petting her head she will continually like my foot or leg until I pet her again. I thought maybe she was doing it because of salt on my skin. She doesn't like to be picked up like you said and when I do she will usually pee on me so I always put a towel under her bottom now when I do need to pick her up. I got her when she was 2 years old and she is 9 now and has a little arthritis in her back but seems to be very happy. I am grateful for every day I have with her.
After 4 and a half years of watching Lennon the Bunny.. I can finally get one! Tysm Lorelei for this channel.. I’ve learned everything I know from you!!!
I have had my girl for about a week. She’s 9 weeks old and so sweet. She lets my pick her up and cuddle and loves being on my bed. She gets the zoomies and flops in the middle of the floor.
Hey Lorelei. I would like to thank you for making this channel and continuing to upload regularly. My bunny passed away last week and I am so happy I discovered your channel. I was able to give him the best life possible because of your videos and the information you provided. Keep up the great work!
@R.A.L. I'M SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. I do hope you get another bunny soon, and I hope you can find a bunny to rescue so you can give another bunny the most amazing life that they deserve as well. I hope it gets better soon I know how heartbreaking it is.
@@kathywillett3920 Not sure when I will get another bunny but it’s definitely on my plans. My last bunny lived for ten years. Quite a commitment it was. And at the stage I am at rn idk if I can manage to have a pet right now. But definitely looking forward to a new furry friend in the future!
@@R.A.L.Dreams yes it will take some time to mourn and it's much better that you do that first rather than jump into something right away because that's a process that's important to go through.
I remember my bunny flapping around, and I cautiously approached him, laying my head slightly over his side and using him as a pillow lol :D. He didn't mind.
My bunny has a huge personality, he’s super sassy but also the sweetest thing! He kisses me 24/7 and will let me pet him while he’s flopped over and he’ll even start grooming my hand🐰❤️
Mine also, but Im not sure if it's the becouse of anxiety. I have feeling he licks strangers out of anxiety. He also didn't like to being picked up too much, when ever he would be picked up after 1,2 min he would gently bite you, this is when you know he wants to be put on the ground.
@@TheRenabaka I think they will show their anxiety by body language like a lot of nose twitching and wide eyes.... But my bun also doesn't like some people, there's this one where he licks before he bites, and so he chases him cause he's mad, I am not sure, LOL. My bun is not neutered yet so he is a bit territorial ( since we live in the Philippines, and they are considered meat here, it's a bit hard to find exotic vets)
I've had my bun since he was a month old, now he's huge! He was "raised" by my two cats and now they like to sleep on my bed in a puddle 😂 it makes me happy to know he does all these on the list especially the licks, I worry about being good enough all the time.
I just got my bunny 4 days ago, and he's 4 years old. He was really scared on the way home (an 1 and a half drive Q~Q) And doesn't want to come out of his cage a lot. I'll usually just have it open and let him come out when he wants. But he is growing to feel safe around me. He's very relaxed when in his cage. His old owners had him outside in a cage all day, so I'm hoping he just needs to get used to being out of his cage.
I'm hoping to get to this point with my new rescue bunny. He has flopped, but not really around me, just sort of while in his pen area, he seems to be the most comfortable in that space. When we let him out to free roam he lays near us with his legs kicked out, and he binkies quite a lot, but we definitely have a long way to go before he fully trusts us, thanks for sharing what signs to look out for to know when he fully trusts us!
I love your videos. I have a lionhead and a few months ago got a mini toy bunny or thats what they called em, they liked being held at first but my son who has autism was a little rough with them and now they are terrified of him and run and hide, but with me and my daughter they are so comfortable and i feel like they trust us
I love watching your videos but this one really hit home and had me in tears. So I had for the very first time two male rabbit's called Rum and Leo and their personalities was as different as night and day Leo being my younger brothers bunny and Rum being mine. He was a pure Dutch and had him from 3wks old. The bond I shared with him was unlike any other and everything that has been said really has me very happy and emotional because not long ago he passed away he lived far above his life expectancy which is usually 9yrs but he lived till 15yrs. He was my partner in crime and my dear boy and knowing that these top 10 signs where signs of trust has truly touched me because when I lost him I thought we had a good long run but did I make him happy as he made me. Knowing this has made me happy to know that even though his gone our bond and partnership was equal and the love of companionship was truly equal on both parts. Thank you for this insightful and beautiful video. You made my day
@Siann Patel your comment had me in tears. I'm so sorry for your loss. Lorelei really hit home with this video didn't she? In reading all the comments you can see that this video in particular really resonated with those of us who Bond so closely with bunnies that we become part bunnies ourselves! 15 years is incredible! I've always had mini Rex rabbits. They can be pretty affectionate, and I am very happy to have known this level of bonding that Lorelei describes with all my bunnies but the mini rexes to get very nervous when they're picked up for very long. Mine will sleep right next to my face all night long and they will kiss my eyes in the morning because they know that when my eyes are open that's when I'm awake, as opposed to just their normal bunny kisses... Still they prefer to be on the pillow and not on my chest. That's okay I don't take it personally haha but as a breed they are not known to be too high up on that scale of demonstrating affection by being held, in general. It's funny to me because just a regular size bunny seems so big, but we have a rabbit rescue here in Eugene Oregon and when I'm ready for another one I think I'm going to wait until we have a Dutch Bunny come through because as a breed every time I've seen one they are so outgoing and affectionate! I cried and cried when you described the relationship you had for 15 years and I'm glad that you found some comfort in remembering how fabulous you made his life for him. The grieving that we go through over a rabbit can be literally heartbreaking and I'm so glad that you can look back and see what an incredible person you must be and how you gave him the best life he could have. RIP.
@@kathywillett3920 thank you so much for your beautiful reply honestly this has made me feel humble and happy and even though I'm still grieving this has brought me great comfort. And trust me you aren't wrong about their personalities when I saw Rum I knew he had to come home with me and be mine. So I was interacting with a white fluffy bon bon but then it was my dad that grabbed me and said check this out so I wanted to see what he was kicking a fuss about then I saw it. He was there along with the other cute bon bons drinking water from the water bottle but the others wanted some too but he didn't feel like sharing it yet. So he did something that took me and my dad by supprise and it resonated with my personality he stuck his forehead on the stopper. So no water was coming out and he went into a loaf position too. He didn't budge and the others list interest. As soon as they went away he went back too drinking it again. If that isn't cheeky, sassy and smart at the same time I don't know what is but he had to come home with me and the antics we got into was amazing. So this video was definitely memorable and a beautiful reminder of everything I went through with him.
I had a French Lop named Brownie that let me carry her a lot, and she was not a house rabbit. My ex and I had built a giant hutch for our rabbits. I also had a cat named Little Foot who was this silver colored polydactyl with opposable thumbs. One day I had done all the hutch cleaning, feeding, watering, and bunny petting. So when I went to bed I didn’t realize that Little Foot wasn’t in the house. The next morning I came outside, and he was laying curled up with Brownie inside the hutch. The other rabbits were in their boxes. Little Foot had eaten all the food of course-cats like bunny food. When I went to remove my cat, Brownie got mad at me and was thumpering. She still did so when I got that big kitty out of the hutch. I think she was mad at me for a couple of days. He ended up staying in there with her a lot, and she would cuddle with him and do the purring. Of course he purred too. No baby bunny was harmed in the process. But I had a strange cat.
I really enjoy when I see my little bunny trusts me, lets me pick her up and can stay with me while I’m doing other things like a little kitten). Thank you Lorelei, as you’ve taught me to be patient and not to force a bunny. So I’m on good terms with mine)
I’ve had my bunny Pokey for 5 years and Stormy for 1 year. I’ve been a rabbit owner pretty much all my life but this is the first time I’ve gotten a second. Btw, rabbits are not friends instantly. Pokey is my grumpy old lady who loves food and I think she thinks she’s top rabbit in the whole household, including being the leader of the people. She’s very lazy too but that means she’s easier to cuddle. Stormy is the child who is still warming up to us but I have already found him flopping around me. So far, he’s more of an explorer. I’ll catch him roaming the house more than Pokey. When it comes to them spending time together, Pokey is always cold to him and he’s always providing her unconditional love. She hates his guts but sometimes will accept his grooming. Stormy had to be neutered a few months ago but he’s doing good and he’s no longer into GILFs. 😂
This video was so emotional for me. You and Lennon have beutiful bound, and thanks you for all your hard work to inspire many peaople with their bunnys. My and my Vincent created such a bound immedetly, and we still stay strong with love, forgivness and trust. The best feel for me is that I know how Vincent love me, and trust me. So am I . And yeah we have all 10/10 point from your video :D
This makes me feel so so happy to see my bunny doing these things, i never knew how meaningful some of these things are, thanks so much for this great info❤️❤️
I love this video. I adopted my second bunny Ludwig about 1.5 years ago, after my first bunny Polly passed away. She was trusting and very affectionate. I loved her so much. Ludwig was different, not as trusting and I didn’t know where he came from (he was estimated 1 year old when I picked him up from the shelter). He loves my dog but he was a bit apprehensive about me. However, within the past 6 months or so he’s beginning to show so many signs of trust and he is turning out to be quite loving ♥️
thank you for the great advice! I recently rescued two bunnies from different situations but both were in danger. I am not experienced with bunnies but when I rescued my male Benny, he was malnourished and dehydrated. It broke my heart when I offered him water and hay- he clambered my arms in desperation! My little girl bunny Lola immediately licked my hands when I rescued her! As a result I could not bear to find them homes with anyone but me! I am constantly trying to learn more and more about bunnies so that I can be the perfect bunny mum. Your advice instils confidence in me knowing that my bunnies really do love me and feel completely at ease in my home! Thank you thank you!!!
You are extremely helpful! Your doing this so other rabbits can enjoy and have an amazing life! You are so caring to Lennon and other rabbits! I love how you do this 💕
I got my grand bun 2 days ago, shes a few weeks old and she's already using a litter box and being a love through the holding pen while we get used to eachother and her to her new home, it's amazing how fast your critters begin to trust and love you when you don't have a mom and grandma ripping them around like toys for you and when you actually protest them being bought like a play thing they say "oh well it's just an animal"
Lorelei you are such an inspiring, educational, influence in the bunny community and I want you to know that! This video is going to be so helpful and interesting for me! Thanks Loreleixx
This helps so much. Thank you! I though my bunny hated me because I couldn’t hold him but he does every other thing in the video so I know he trusts me now
Me and my bunny bonded immediately and trusted each other from the very first day. I am so grateful for your videos, because sometimes I feel like I don't give him enough love, but thanks to you I know he loves me and I am just normal scared bunny mum.
My Eddie does most of these, but he does not like being picked up or held. When he was a baby he was fine with it, but now as a teenager, he is very hard to pick up. I think maybe because I usually only do it when we have to go somewhere, so now he knows if I pick him up, he is going in the carrier and then the car (and probably to the vet). Not sure how to fix that. :( But he flops near me all the time, gives kisses, hangs on the couch with me, and binkies all over the place. So hopefully he will eventually get better about being held.
I just wanna thank you for all your videos they have helped me so much my neighbors threw out an all white lion head bunny when she was about 7months old I couldn't just leave her outside I now have 2 bunnies and I absolutely adore them Loretta Lynn and little Dew your videos are amazing and I'm am grateful for them with your videos I know the information is accurate unlike Google you never know what is true and what isn't So I just wanna say thank you a million times
Hey Lorelei, thank you so much for posting so many different types of videos. You really help people learn more about rabbits. You helped me so much, and you helped me know better how to take care of my rabbit Cookie 🍪. I love her so much. Thank you Lorelei, and say hi to Lennon from me!💝💝
I just got 2 baby bunnies, and I’ve been a bit paranoid, and worried Abt every little thing Abt the care I give to the bunnies, and I’m worried I’m doing it wrong. I’ve had them for Abt 3-4 days, and most of those things you said in the vid, they do do around me, so now I’m a bit more relaxed about the care I give to them 😊 ( they’ve always seemed happy, doing zoomies, jumping in the air, - they have a whole room to themselves- but there’s always been a little part of me, that’s always worries about something.) I absolutely love ur vids, and before I got the buns, you really helped me to prepare for them, and help me to know what to expect x Thank you 🙏
Great video! My bunny does some of these things but not all. He did not like being picked up since the way I got him was he was picked up an owl and got away. But now, after 7 years with me, he seems to like it more, still not crazy about it though. I knew he liked me talking to him because I do it all the time and he looks like he is listening. I used to read out loud when we lived with others and that is what we did in the evening and he always came near where I was sitting. He also loves music. I love watching Lennon and you, especially when you are in bed and she jumps up there to be with you.
@Kathleen Lupole that's amazing that your bunny was picked up by an owl and got away! We all know how strong these instincts are in rabbits just being bred into them but most of them have not been so unfortunate to literally have gone through it themselves. I'm so happy to hear that this bunny has you, and I'm quite surprised actually that he's made progress with letting you pick him up at all! Can you imagine being a bunny and going through that talk about PTSD. That speaks volumes about you and I especially love how you describe your conversations. I thought that was great that Lorelei put that in here because there's no doubt in my mind that Domino listens to me we have long conversations on the floor face to face and she never runs off or gets bored. she always looks at me with those beautiful brown eyes and listens and listens and I know she cares with all her heart. They may not know exactly what the words mean but they do know the emotions in our voice. They know the entire range of emotions we might not even be aware of how different our voices might get just the small subtle nuance of being sad versus being a step closer to heartbreak... They know and they care and they will always have a little more patience for us on those days, what amazes me is when I'm just working on the computer and not speaking, she literally knows when I'm frustrated or bored or irritated and she will start being silly and doing binkies and Zoomies she loves to run as fast as she can right up to me and then stop on a dime like skidding to a stop just inches away from me. She thinks that's fun and it always makes me laugh and it's always at a time when I need to laugh. And I must confess I too have read to her. She really loves the sound of my voice it makes her feel safe. Anyways I was really impressed with your comment.
@@kathywillett3920 Thank you for such a nice comment! My bunny, who's name is Rabbit lived in my barn with my 3 horses for about 5 months until I could finally get a hold of him. He loved one of my horses especially and they would touch noses. He adapted well to being a house rabbit and I never knew there was such a thing. Lennon the Bunny was essential in me learning how to care for him. He is a happy bunny!
My bunny is about 4-6 months old, and she is an absolute joy! She does all of these things. She will let you pick her up anytime, 24/7. I couldn't imagine not holding mine. She will almost like, beg to be held. She is just a joy!
I plan on getting a bunny once I move out and am financially stable in my new place. I was worried at first because I only have experience with my dog, but I've been binging your videos since quarantine and you've really helped me gain some confidence for when I move out 🤗 Thanks Lorelei!
Thank you for this video! I got my Netherland Dwarf rabbit last month. His name is Roger and he looks like a Dalmatian. I'm so glad I watched this video as I was thinking maybe he doesn't like me cause I can't always pick him up without him kicking his hind legs. But after watching this I realized I do hand feed him everyday, he flops, he sleeps in the middle of my kitchen floor, he never flinches, he responds to his name, and he just stopped humping my cats cause I got him neutered last week. Him and my 2 male cats bond really well, especially now lol. The pictures I took are so awesome. Thanks again!
What my question is, is what should I expect when I bring my first bunny home. How should I approach my bunny in the beginning to work on that bond?? Should I leave my bunny be for a few days to warm up to the new surroundings? Or should I slowly introduce myself?
I'd say maybe try being around the bunny but if it shows any little signs it doesn't want you around, give it space. If the bunny is going to free roam all around the house, maybe do one room at a time. Make sure you have everything bunny proofed. Bunny toys could be a good thing to get as well. And make sure you try to be at the bunny's level so you don't startle it.
From my experience (10 rabbits in 30 years) I‘d say- yes, absolutely! Let him/her first come to you when he/she feels comfortable. I knows it’s hard to be patient, but it’s definitely the best way to just watch your bunny first, talk to him etc.
Well I'm in one!!!! I just watched 10 signs your bunny hates you checked all ten of those boxes . Now I'm on 10 signs your rabbit trust you yup checked all ten . Guess my rabbit trust hates me ? Lol
Hoppy holidays Lennon!! Lol my baby bun named Milo for some reasons loves it when I pick him up we got him for 30 dollars from a rough space selling the bunnies for meat ❤️❤️❤️
I've been watching these videos to educate myself in bunny care, about a year ago my dad had gotten me two bunnies that I loved but had no idea how to care for. I tried researching how to give my bunnies a good life but unfortunately had to give them away after only a few months. I continued my research and stumbled upon this channel and have learned tons. I figured out the mistakes I had made with my bunnies, yet I found out that they really trusted me. My bunnies would show their personality, lick me, and cuddle with me. I wish I could have been better for them as they were to me. I'm planning on getting a bunny after I move out with all the knowledge I have now to be a better bun mom. Thank you Lorelei and Lennon. 💕
My bunny does most of these 😊 it makes me soo happy. She still hates being picked up though so I don’t do it at all. She even gets into her ibiyaya buggy by herself. I leave the carrier part on the floor and once she’s in I close it and put it on the frame. This way there’s no picking up 😀. Also I made my bunny an advent calendar! You should make one for Lennon too. I know it’s kinda late but it’s soo cute. Every time I bring the box out my bunny knows right away that treats are coming her way 😀.
Can we just appreciate how Lennon has been making these videos for months and So kind and I have a bunny and I tried this and my bunny now loves me so thank you Lennon❤❤👑
I know that 3 is pretty self explanatory but hearing you, an expert, say it is really touching. I was watching this video because when i got my bunny first thing i saw on him was that he had a scar and was really scared of everything + the cat we had wasn't really leaving him alone while not really trying to hurt him cus she's an absolute angel she'd never do that (we weren't really planning on getting one but my grandad got him and we couldn't refuse) but then i kept the bunny in my room with the cat out, letting them see each other for like 1 hour every day supervised so that i know my cat isn't playing "hunt" with the rabbit and then they became fast friends and got accomodated with each other and now i even see the bunny sometimes even licking the cat.
I've had my bunny for around 7 years and he does most of those things. He's not at all bothered by household noises, he loves beeing pet and moments when he gives us kisses are the most precious. Over the years we learned what his cues mean and seeing him happy makes us happy as well. My bunny is my most precious and important friend
Your really lucky you know .even I had a rabbit I used to watch your videos everyday…. One night My female bunny starts plucking her fur from herself, her cage was totally filled with fur…. My family being scared got her to the doctor and then left her to a farm , where they take care of thousands of bunnies, me being with them only for 2months had immensely started loving them and had got a real good attachment with them, you are so lucky to have your bunny still with you… I hope you both stay happy *forever*✨
We just brought home a rescue last night, and tonight he let us pet him for so long and give him gentle cheek massages 💜 I feel so happy that we've already created a place of comfort and respect for him, and so much of that is due to your videos (and the banana we gave him too, I'm sure). He spent an hour today doing zoomies after coming from a place he could rarely go out. I'm so happy we can give him love and that he's already showing us how much he appreciates it 💜
@Theia H. Good for good for you that you rescued a rabbit! It was rewarding just reading about how happy he is already. He will surely appreciate and love you many many years, even without the banana. 😂
@@kathywillett3920 thank you! We went without banana yesterday and he still allowed us to pet him 😂💜 I don't know if it's his age, but he seems to be settling in so quickly and wonderfully. I'm sure allowing him to freely roam has helped with that! He was dumped in a breeder release (exactly what it sounds like) and probably would have died if our friend hadn't intervened 🥺 I'm so glad he's safe and happy now, doing lots of zoomies and taking naps with his eyes closed 💜
We met one of our bunnies on the street, she hopped right up to us and let us pick her up with no struggle. She's lived with us for just over a year and she still just lets us pick her up🥰
I am at that egalitarian level with my first bunny at 42yrs old ,I had no idea that I would fall in love with a Giant Flemish boy. The love and trust that I have built with this special soul is so amazing. Mr Buns🐇❤️
I’m getting 2 female bunnies in about 3 weeks and I just want to say Thank you so much! Your videos have helped a lot and I have learnt how to properly take care of them! They are going to have a whole room dedicated to them! 😌 Lennon is so cute! ❤️
This video really makes me cried. I learn so much with your channel, I’m a bunny parent since 11 months and I know even if I made a lot of researchs before adopting my little boy, I made some mistakes at the beginning. Now I feel like he is trusting me a lot more, by doing binkies around me in the morning, and flopping by two times since November. I know it’s not that much but I feel so much progress in our bonding, and even if I still can’t touch him or hold him I’m not going to force him or whatever ; if our relationship is that great in 11 months, I’m pretty sure we will bond even more in a few months and years. Thanks for your channel and ressources, it really helped me to understand better my boy and I feel I can more communicate with him, I’m so proud of him learning to know me as I’m learning to know him ! Have a great day 💕
Lorelei, today, my rabbit only a few days before the 7th anniversary of first having her, passed away after a surgery to remove the cancer, this is a really heart breaking and difficult time for me and I just wanna thank you again for making my days feel brightened up especially when my day hasn't been good, again thank you and Lennon 💕
I remember when i was terrified when my rabbit flopped for the first time. she flopped upside down next on my stuffed animals and her past partner died recently so whenever my rabbit stops moving i have to check if shes breathing etc etc. but it was so darn cute
My bunny literally do everything you said just now.. I'm so flattered by this video..*I'm crying* Can you just believe that how much she love me!?😭she even came to me when she was having liber pain..& gave birth to her baby bunnies on me!!! even after she gave birth to them, she stayed with me for 2-3 hours & wanted me to hold her all that time...😭 I love her so much >>3💜😭
I was once rehabilitating some rabbits that were neglected and abused in their previous home, and while I could tell I had helped them trust me, I didn't realize to what extent until I had already found them a new home.
Thanks for the video. I hope one day my bunny will trust like Lenon. I always tell my bunny that "take your time because I'll be here for the rest of your life." She was adopted less than a month ago but already learned few tricks and i was so surprised how quickly she learns and seem enjoying it.just like my dogs. Sometimes i teach her 2 tricks a day because she is like " this is too easy for me". I even got chills how smart she is.
I love my bunny and we have such a great bond
that is so adorable
Awww my bunny’s name is also bella!! She does the same with me🥺🥺
why are so many pets called "Bella"? I mean, 2 of my teachers have a dog named Bella, and That Vegan Teacher has a vegan dog named Bella, and now this? Not trying to be offensive, but it's just so weird.
@@carolinajimenez998 ah bunnies are just the best
This sounds like my Bun Buns (Bambi)
The "they forgive you" one is so true. When they know that they are loved, they shake off the grudges (vet visits). Being sassy and being themselves is def a beautiful thing to see. I wish I'd be at #1 with my bun, not quite there yet. Love your look in this video, btw.
Definitely being sassy. Whenever my bun wants to set boundaries he'll grunt at me to let me know he's being annoyed. That vs hiding from you it's def a sign of trust.
Agreed😁
So true, he will come up to you and ask for cuddles 🥰🐰
10: They let you pick them up or hold them
9: They forgive you
8: They let you hand-feed them
7: They sleep with or around you
6: They flop around you
5: They don't flinch around you
4: They listen to you when you speak
3: They lick you
2: Their personalities shine around you
1: They view you as their equal

I love this video and I agree with the forgiveness part. As a bunny parent, you will inevitably make mistakes. Having them acknowledge you and still want you in their life afterwards, is a huge compliment that you should not take for granted--and that applies to pretty much any relationship!
Oh my gosh, this is making me feel so validated for all the hard work I’ve put in with my rescue bunny!
Congratulations and good girl for getting a rescue bunny!!
I'm wanting a rabbit now!
The fact that my bunny does lots of these, makes me super happy inside ❤

That's so awesome you are giving a bunny a loving home.
Awesome 🤍 no bunny should be without family
i rescued my bunny almosta year ago she doesnt really do anything on her shell flop sometimes and eat from my hand sometimes but thats about it i almost never pick her up idk what to do to make her trust me more ive watched so many videos but nothing seems to help what did you do to get your bunny to trust you in 3 months?
I found my rabbit in parking place a 14 months ago. She afraided from me and afraided from every touch.
Now I am a halfway of your list.
Thank you- it was usefull to know your "Banny trust list"!

Keep up the great work! 👍🥰🐰 BTW, to those who are new to taking care of a bunny. Trust is something you can't demand from a bunny, you have to earn their trust!
[his mother was neglectful, we had to step in.]
He was always my little hand baby and would sleep in my shirt a bunch, now that hes bigger now and plays with our guinea pigs, our cats, binkies around the house and even loves a good game of Get your bum. I get licked ALL the time and also get to cuddle and watch him flop, hes amazing
Love how your bunny sleeps with you and cuddles with you!!

My bunny literally licks everyone, including new people he just met. He's a very social bunny :)
Thank you for this vid Lorelei and Lennon!
Ours licks us too, especially when wearing Coconut Body Cream 😅
My bunny licks everyone In my family now he loves my mum! But when someone else he doesn’t know comes over our house he becomes super shy 😭😂😂😂
My bunny doesn't lick anybody, but i know not all bunnies like to lick people :) she does everything else on the list though, so i know she trusts me
Mine also, but Im not sure if it's the becouse of anxiety.
Did you have a hard time acclimating your rabbit and cats?
I just got my bunny 4 days ago, and he's 4 years old. He was really scared on the way home (an 1 and a half drive Q~Q)
And doesn't want to come out of his cage a lot.
Can we just appreciate Lennon being so adorable.❤️❤️❤️
very detailed insights that the average bunny owner would not recognize. very well done
I think you and Lennon have an unbreakable bond, i really love watching your videos! ❤️
I really enjoy when I see my little bunny trusts me, lets me pick her up and can stay with me while I’m doing other things like a little kitten).
Thank you Lorelei, as you’ve taught me to be patient and not to force a bunny. So I’m on good terms with mine)
Rabbits are incredibly intelligent. I talk to mine all the time! They love it 🥰
I’ve had my bunny Pokey for 5 years and Stormy for 1 year.
Just yesterday my bunny fell asleep while I was petting her. I knew she was asleep because she started snoring!
This makes me feel so so happy to see my bunny doing these things, i never knew how meaningful some of these things are, thanks so much for this great info❤️❤️
Budgies are similar to bunnies, but can tolerate loudness a little better for they themselves are loud.
I had my first bunny almost 6 months ago and he does all of that! I'm so proud of my boy and our relationship, he's the most precious thing in my life
They view as their equal: whenever I'm eating, my bunny will be staring and waiting for his food too. (And specially offended if not given, hahaha)
thank you for the great advice!
Thanks Loreleixx
so sweet 🤍
This helps so much. Thank you! I though my bunny hated me because I couldn’t hold him but he does every other thing in the video so I know he trusts me now
I find it very therapeutic to give my bun treats and just sit and pet her
Oooo cool
Lorelei is so cute. Someone who loves their bunny this much is to be cherished.
I tried one of your treats recipes and my bunny loves it
Me and my bunny bonded immediately and trusted each other from the very first day.
Hey Lorelei, thank you so much for posting so many different types
of videos. You really help people learn more about rabbits. You helped me so much,
and you helped me know better how to take care of my rabbit Cookie 🍪. I love her so much.
Thank you Lorelei, and say hi to Lennon from me!💝💝
my bunny is called cookie 🍪 too 🥺❤️ and she’s a female as well!
I just got 2 baby bunnies, and I’ve been a bit paranoid, and worried Abt every little thing Abt the care I give to the bunnies, and I’m worried I’m doing it wrong. I’ve had them for Abt 3-4 days, and most of those things you said in the vid, they do do around me, so now I’m a bit more relaxed about the care I give to them 😊 ( they’ve always seemed happy, doing zoomies, jumping in the air, - they have a whole room to themselves- but there’s always been a little part of me, that’s always worries about something.) I absolutely love ur vids, and before I got the buns, you really helped me to prepare for them, and help me to know what to expect x
Thank you 🙏
Happy holidays Lennon and Lorelei! A rabbit's trust is truly something you earn and not just get 💖
Yes 💕
Can anyone just take some time and appreciate how beautiful Lorelie looks
We've raised our 3 baby girls by hand since they were babies, and I love loveeeeee how all of these apply to our sweet buns 💜 bunny flex 🤣
I plan on getting a bunny once I move out and am financially stable in my new place. I was worried at first because I only have experience with my dog, but I've been binging your videos since quarantine and you've really helped me gain some confidence for when I move out 🤗 Thanks Lorelei!
These videos just make me feel like the best bunny mom ever!❤️❤️
Thanks again!
love this!!! maybe you could do a Christmas special this month, and what lennon picks out for christmas , it would be a great video!!!
Thank you so much I just found a little baby rabbit outside and your channel help me very much
What my question is, is what should I expect when I bring my first bunny home.
Lol
If I ever get divorced I am only going to date women with rabbits.

lol, great choice
It’ll probably be like the approving son or daughter

My bunny does all of this, and I've only had him for 3 weeks so far!
Lennon is so spoiled and so FREAKING ADORABLEEEEE
My bunny does most of these 😊 it makes me soo happy. She still hates being picked up though so I don’t do it at all. She even gets into her ibiyaya buggy by herself. I leave the carrier part on the floor and once she’s in I close it and put it on the frame. This way there’s no picking up 😀. Also I made my bunny an advent calendar! You should make one for Lennon too. I know it’s kinda late but it’s soo cute. Every time I bring the box out my bunny knows right away that treats are coming her way 😀.
I can not tell you how happy this video made me, thanks Lorelei!!!
Mr Buns🐇❤️
When bunnies flop it scares me so bad because it feels like their gonna lay on their back and trance themself 😭
I’m getting 2 female bunnies in about 3 weeks and I just want to say Thank you so much! Your videos have helped a lot and I have learnt how to properly take care of them! They are going to have a whole room dedicated to them! 😌
Lennon is so cute!
I'm so flattered by this video..*I'm crying* Can you just believe that how much she love me!?😭she even came to me when she was having liber pain..& gave birth to her baby bunnies on me!!! even after she gave birth to them, she stayed with me for 2-3 hours & wanted me to hold her all that time...😭 I love her so much >>3💜😭
I am so happy that I found your channel before I got my bunny a few months ago, because honestly without you my rabbit would’ve had a bad life
I was once rehabilitating some rabbits that were neglected and abused in their previous home, and while I could tell I had helped them trust me, I didn't realize to what extent until I had already found them a new home.
Thanks for the video. I hope one day my bunny will trust like Lenon.
I always tell my bunny that "take your time because I'll be here for the rest of your life."
She was adopted less than a month ago but already learned few tricks and i was so surprised how quickly she learns and seem enjoying it.just like my dogs.
Sometimes i teach her 2 tricks a day because she is like " this is too easy for me".
I even got chills how smart she is.
