Ive been avoiding Metroid content on UA-cam for months now, because I wanted to experience the game 100% spoiler free. I didn’t even watch the E3 footage. ...and then this shows up on my recommended page the second that I opened up UA-cam today. Fuck my life.
Ya this channel is notorious for having final bosses and massive spoilers in the thumbnail. He is kind of a dick head about it as well. Best bet it to block it from showing up now because he will not stop. Sorry you got spoiled mate, never fun.
@@heatherirwin1333 the main issue with that is that he usually post spoilers in the thumbnails themselves (final boss, areas or dramatic reveals). So even if you don't watch his video you have the knowledge of what the end game content is. Again the best way to avoid it is blocking him so UA-cam won't recommend any of his content.
One of my favorite little details is that in Samus' first encounter with Raven Beak, he only does attacks that he uses in his boss fight later, and the way Samus dodges/counters two of them are how you have to dodge/counter them when you actually get to the fight.
And speaking of that fight, two of Raven Beak's other attacks are reminiscent of upgrades Samus used on Aether, along with the Storm Missile basically being an enhanced variant of a third Aether upgrade

To explain the ending. The reason why samus got the metroid suit was because when her metroid dna surfaced, it went into berserk state because her chozo dna was from raven beaks dna, which dosnt have the genetics to control them. Its why her beam was not only able to easily destoyed the x, but ultimately destroy it even when its thier gelatinous form. But because her metroid suit was in effect, she couldnt control it to stop it. But when quiet robe x parasite came, it had actually manage to retain his individuality, making the first ever being in the universe to do so, and allowed it to be absorbed by samus. Thanks to the fact his dna was the only chozo alive that can control the metroid dna, which ultimately made samus not only the strongest chozo, the strongest metroid, but a brand new mother brain that can control the metroids entirety in both species and cellular models.
Basically samus is a 3 way hybrid of metroid, Chozo(both Thoha and Mawkin) and human now. Yeah any genetic scientist would likely love to get their hands on a strain of this now im sure, but that aside the ending is the type i always liked, since its a character bucking the trend of how the X work, and them doing something to aid someone else even at their own (re)death as a result. In this case i like to think its due to 3 key things: Quiet robe knowing he's one of the only beings that can save samus in that moment because of his Chozo DNA and her being able to absorb X Parasites. His respect to Samus as a warrior/wanting to ensure she lives to continue because of it And some acceptence of the fact that as an X parasite he's not really long for the world anymore, so he makes use of his remaining strength to allow Samus to save herself in return for her stopping raven beak. I'm likely overthinking things here but i've always liked those sorts of endings and i figured it'd be harmless to add my thoughts incase anyone else likes the ideas. Im also a sucker for big laser go zap so that helps too.
40:16 Did you know that if you skip this room and come back to it later with power bombs, you can destroy the two bots instantly by detonating a power bomb!
I feel like there's a missed opportunity to have Kraid's fight end with his claw NOT falling into the lava. You get a bit worried, then the camera goes back to 2D and reveals that it just popped off and he's absolutely dead.

The first game is your favorite? I respect your opinion it's just really uncommon to see that as someone's favorite. People usually say super metroid or metroid prime 2 or 3 or one of the gameboy advance games.

Kraid's head is what splits apart to reveal Raven Beak's face. It's implied after Experiment Z-57's core fell into the lava that it found Kraid somewhere down there and assimilated him. Poor Kraid suffered the same fate as Ridley in Fusion.
I’ll be honest I just completed this game about 2 hours ago and I never realised so many things about these boss fights like you could pull of the elite Chozo warriors shield so I made that boss take a lot more time and attempts also I do wish there was a Ridley boss fight in some form

I loved the little timeline at the end, really accentuates Dread's sense of finality. However at 1:04:17 for a moment I was like "BOOOOOOO! YOU SUCK, GET OFFSTAGE!"
not sure why the entire planet blew up, but I guess that's a just a Metroid thing to have a planet/space station completely vaporize at the beginning/end of the game can't break tradition I suppose

Raven's boss fight should have been what Other M's final boss against MB should have been; a huge ass power suit weilded by someone who clearly shouldn't have it. No bullshit investigative segment, no robugs, just an artificial chozo fighting a GF clone with artificial chozo tech.
Other M is garbage and isn't even worth mentioning in the same sentence as this game. I foolishly bought it when it was $5, and I felt ripped off...I since got rid of my copy, I don't consider it part of the series. The plot is fanfiction nonsense that contradicts every other game anyway.

I accidentally sequence broke my first play-through after the silver and gold chozo I fought golzuna by run boosting and shine spark morph all into the tube with the missle and space jumped my way up
Regarding Kraid, how is he still alive? And yes, I know about the whole cloning which is a possibility (plus a cloning lab in ZDR), and those always coming back in Metroid games. So just wanted to throw some theories here. Is this still the same Kraid back from Super Metroid? From the looks of it, it seems like he recognizes who Samus is (as far as I can tell during those scenes). Did Raven Beak and the other Mawkins were present during the events of Super Metroid at Zebes in which they took the defeated Kraid back to ZDR for experiments? Of course, the main reason for RB to be at Zebes was also to steal back the last baby Metroid from Mother Brain and the Space Pirates. And, again as mentioned earlier, he's actually a clone or possibly another Kraid because if I recall, his species aren't originally from Zebes but somewhere else. I hope they reveal this later on in the near future.
My theory is that Kraid is a species rather than an individual being, and the reason it wanted to attack Samus would be likely because it's just hostile

Samus Returns even bridged the gap between the Prime story and the main story by having Ridley show up at the end half organic and half meta, with him shedding his meta parts after, leading to Super Metroid. So, yeah, Prime is canon, but it doesn't play a huge part in the main storyline. Main Storyline: Zero Mission Samus Returns Super Other M Fusion Dread Prime Storyline: (these games are placed between Zero Mission and Samus Returns in the overall timeline) Prime Hunters Echoes Corruption Federation Force

@@StormsparkPegasus other m literally takes place after super metroid. it's literally in the cutscene: Samus gets saved by baby metroid, Mother brain kills the baby in outrage, Samus Annihilates Mother brain. Just because you don't like the game doesn't mean others share the sentiment. While I'll admit the game can be somewhat lackluster and clunky, It's a good game, and I somewhat agree that it could be better done.
I accidentally sequence broke my first play-through after the silver and gold chozo I fought golzuna by run boosting and shine spark morph all into the tube with the missle and space jumped my way up
I'm not even planning on buying this game nor am I a metroid fan but I'm still pissed that you keep spoiling games for everyone

Regarding Kraid, how is he still alive? And yes, I know about the whole cloning which is a possibility (plus a cloning lab in ZDR), and those always coming back in Metroid games. So just wanted to throw some theories here. Is this still the same Kraid back from Super Metroid? From the looks of it, it seems like he recognizes who Samus is (as far as I can tell during those scenes). Did Raven Beak and the other Mawkins were present during the events of Super Metroid at Zebes in which they took the defeated Kraid back to ZDR for experiments? Of course, the main reason for RB to be at Zebes was also to steal back the last baby Metroid from Mother Brain and the Space Pirates. And, again as mentioned earlier, he's actually a clone or possibly another Kraid because if I recall, his species aren't originally from Zebes but somewhere else. I hope they reveal this later on in the near future.
My theory is that Kraid is a species rather than an individual being, and the reason it wanted to attack Samus would be likely because it's just hostile

It’s not, other m is part of the main story even if it isn’t needed, prime is not tied into the main story at all.
I think prime it's in another time line, I actually like this idea in this way prime can do whatever they want without potholes
@@gerarquiaFM I mean, the latest official timeline included with the SNES Classic edition includes the Prime games, and Sakamoto has confirmed that the Prime games are a part of the timeline. Samus Returns even bridged the gap between the Prime story and the main story by having Ridley show up at the end half organic and half meta, with him shedding his meta parts after, leading to Super Metroid. So, yeah, Prime is canon, but it doesn't play a huge part in the main storyline.
