  • On October 30, 2020 my buddy Luke Hough set out on his attempt at lowering the current Fastest Known Time on the 350 Mile Pinhoti Trail (National Recreation Trail). I joined Luke and his crew about 10 hours into his effort and stayed with him as crew support and pacer for the next 24 hours. This video captures some of the adventure during that time. Unfortunately, Luke had to abandon his attempt after covering more than 200 miles as the massive blowdowns left on the trail by Tropical Storm Zeta became too much to overcome to have a real shot at breaking the record.

Thanks, the weather was perfect after the Tropical Storm blew through.

Been following a few FKT attempts on the Pinhoti Trail (Alyssa Clark) and appreciate you filming and sharing. Beautiful trail. Sorry to hear that Luke had to abandon due to blowdowns, 200+ miles is still an awesome achievement on that trail! Love the Yeti hat.

Thanks. This was the second time this year that I pace someone during their Pinhoti FKT attempt. I was along for the ride when Caleb Yawan set the current record earlier this year as well. Lots of gnarly trails in the Southeast. Cant' wait to give one a shot myself:-)

Sorry about the condition of the trail . Most of us who try to keep it clear just haven't had time to even scope it out for blowdown yet since the storm, what's more begin the clean up. Great job. Love Luke's ambition.

Absolutely zero reason to be sorry, storms are unpredictable and I certainly know how hard it is to try to clear trails and appreciate the effort of any and all volunteers that come out and maintain trails. It was unexpected and unavoidable at the same time. Hopefully, he’ll have a chance to try again.

Awe man that sucks about the blow outs, the narrower sections and inclines near cheaha make for good workouts and training. Are you going to try again soon?
