So great to be back on trail with Early Riser!!! Feels like old times, and watching you jump back into the videos and create that same feeling for us, the viewers, gives me comfort in vlogging my own upcoming hike. This is a real gift -- thank you!
Spielberg usually don't comment to a comment but I had to when I read yours. You 2 are some of the BEST I still binge watch your through hike on AT miss you bud Thanks WARRIOR
Flu update - Day 3 - 101 temp, cough, stuffed nose, aches all over, chills like you would not believe, pounding motrin and musinex and trying not to die - flu version of "pushing north" - "keep breathing." The ONE thing that is keeping me tethered is binge watching ER on the AT. Just watched day 37 again - dragon's tooth and McAfee knob. Love the honesty of that video in particular. Not your best day on the trail, but REAL. Inspiring me to get this crappy day over with and on to the next (hopefully on the upswing). Thrilled to have new videos to watch as well. Enjoy being back out there...I know you will. Duces!!
great to see you back on the trail and utube, thanks for bringing us along. Thats a blessing that you still have your mother to drop you off on the trail. Sweet,
Gotta tell you, although the views were awesome on the 11 miles from Adam Gap to the State park, these last 5 north of the park have been my favorite. Hope this continues.
Thank you for sharing. Great to see you on the trail again. This is were you seem to be at your best. You can chat all you want because there is so much deep thought. The Ice Age Trail in Wisconsin is about 40% road walking, over a 1000 miles. Enjoy the trail and have fun.
Good to see you back on trail , enjoyed watching your thru hike as it was happening and i have no doubt that you will RIZE to the challenge of your viewers expectations , because im sure they are just like me. Just happy your there. That's all that matters ,having fun an enjoying your surroundings. Be safe and have fun brother.
Looking forward to finally get a chance to catch up and watch this hike! I feel the same about having a parent willing to help out! Let alone hike with me!! Never take it for granted. I have to say... and I hope this doesnt offend and I bet I am not the only one....you are my Bob Ross to HIKING!!!!😁👣☁️🎨 I cant paint but I can hike. I enjoy watching and listening to both!! Happy trails, clouds, trees ect
I'm glad you're back!! Every moment with our parents is a blessing. I'm 40 and lost my dad to ALS in 2015, he was 74. My mom is still here and I cherish every moment I'm able to spend with her. Good to have you back on the trail!!!
So happy to see you back out there , chatty cathy, cherry coke and all ! I watched every single AT video every morning before I went to work. Retired now but will watch every single Pinhoti video as soon as it's up ! Hey ER's mom ! Thanks for bringing our boy to the trail.
@@eaglemtnmom1107 Good to see you back on commenting again! I spend my days babysitting my younger grandkids when they are sick and can't go to school or daycare. I take senior bus trips. Been to Colorado, New York, Philadelphia and will be going to Charleston, SC this year. I love it !
Thoroughly enjoyed this! Great to see you back on trail & sharing your gained wisdom, honesty, humor, positive outlook...& yet, bringing your own growth & struggles along to keep it fresh & real. Good stuff, ER. No expectations, except knowing the soul’s journey is always worth it.
Great stuff, thanks ER. I enjoyed the subtle changes to your vlogging style and I’m really looking forward to the rest of your hike. It’s a trail I’d like to do someday-in the meantime, I’ll do it through your eyes! (I loved the shots of the inside of Dollar General-brings back the feeling of being met with all those great choices while thru-hiking. Another type of trail beauty!)
We ARE blessed with our parents. Mom is amazing and so amazingly supportive of everything we do. The biggest cheerleader for us and what we do too! Thanks Mom!!!
I saw the notification ... big smile. I cooked me something nice to eat, made a new coffee, put some wood into the stove, it’s -26 here and watched the first episode. Can’t get better. So happy to see you hiking again and taking us with you. Thank you so much!
Excellent Day 1! Wow, 22.1 miles right out of the gate! Good Stuff! I am also blessed to have my parents and they too have driven me to many trailheads. They are our greatest supporters. I enjoy you sharing your thought process as you hike the trail. Let me know if you need anything as you get into the north Georgia area. I will be glad to assist you in any way. Keep Hiking!
I love the winter woods on a nice day. Road walks could be tough on the feet but it's fascinating to see the local life as well. Happy you're back on the trail.
Super video, ER. You were great on the Trail Tails podcast and it’s nice to see you putting a lot of what you talked about into action. Beautiful trail and helpful recovery tips. Thanks.
Glad to see you back on the trail. I watched all of your AT videos earlier this year and you are one of the primary reasons that I am undertaking a thru hike of the AT this year. I’m also following Quicksand’s current hike and he has been a huge inspiration as well. If it’s not too much trouble I would like to ask your advice on something. I’m 70 years old and plan to complete the AT this year in one month sections (per family’s request to be home for a couple of weeks after each month). Probably going to do a flip flop with mostly NOBO direction. Going to jump ahead at some point to get NH and ME during the July/Aug timeframe. I have prepped physically and mentally for the hike by doing short 3-5 day sections from Springer to Fontana and things are going great so far (averaging about 12-13 miles/day without trail legs). Had to come off the trail last week for some hopefully minor surgery (not trail injury related) and plan to start back on my first month-long section (beginning in the Smokies) in mid-March. Here’s my question. What are the potential pitfalls of having to come off the trail after each month, e.g. effect on trail legs, difficult mentally to get back on trail, etc. I value your input. Thanks. By the way, I’m going by the trail name SeniorMoment until I possibly change it later based on input from my future hiking partners. My family thinks I’m crazy for wanting to take on this challenge; my response is that I’m having a senior moment, hence the trail name.
Awesome Richard. Yes, for me, going back home would be almost impossible to let me get in the mindset I need to complete such a monumental task. But hey, it may work out just fine.
Ahhhhhh coffee and ER videos. All is right in the world again! Lol stay safe and keep an eye out on the weather. Lots of cold rain headed your way this week!
Glad to see you’re back out...I met you in Va on the AT. I had Tucker the lil Jack Russell w me....sadly lost him about a month ago to cancer @ 8 yrs old....best hiking buddy ever...tough to think about going without him....thx for sharing....
Awesome as ever, ER! Congrats on getting back out there, good luck especially with navigating those puppy-populated road walks, and thank you so much for bringing us along! Lovin it already!
My man!!! Just thinking about you the other day. I tried to replicate your filming style...pointing one way then quick shift to another while moving...nope. I couldn't do it. That was pure art that few people understood. Miss the videos bro...
@@EarlyRiser71 I appreciate that man! Keep it up, your videos are looking great..I should get a couple weeks off from "life" in the spring to do Bear Mt., NY - Somewhere, Mass...later.
