      Best way to eliminate reverse pivot through impact? Flamingo drill works for me but as soon as I go back to regular stance, I back up through impact and hit behind it.

    Does it sound crazy that I have probably watched this video 10x so far? Not done watching it either... I have taken these ideas to a short game practice area 2 times so far and have never hit such a high percentage of pure shots. This success is not going away. I cannot say THANK YOU enough!

    Adam, I’ve been very inconsistent in my explosion shots from the green side bunker. Your aside comment about in stead of trying to hit 2 inches behind, hit the imaginary ball under I tried it today and began to hit it consistent. It completely eliminated the dreaded scald across the green. It gave me a great visual too!

    This right here has been gold for my horrible short game. I took this to the course to day and had much better results. Now if only I can figure out why I keep thinning my full swing wedge shots, I’d be breaking 80. Thanks for this clear instruction!

    One thing I noticed@ 16:37 got a lot of people don't talk about in chipping is keeping the handle moving throughout the chipping motion to where you're not flipping the club face

    • @bfriendly100
      @bfriendly100 8 місяців тому

      Keeping the handle in front of you makes this happen correctly. If you move the handle forward but stop the shoulders you lose the bottom-the handle will go past them

    Wow. Lots of great stuff. A little stumped about why the hands are in front of the shoulders on the backswing but in front of the left hip coming through. Feel like I ought to be able to figure out the asymmetry, but ain't gettin anywhere. Shall be having a club on the ground for all chipping/pitching practice in the future, though. Thank you.

    This is so great to watch! I learn a lot from you guys! Can you tell me what starts the takeaway? Is it your left shoulder, your core, your left feet pushing in the ground? Greetings from The Netherlands.

    • @TH-81-MOOSE
      @TH-81-MOOSE Рік тому +1

      They are gonna say left shoulder… but the back of it is “the engine”. But I’d say the other 2 things are important too but the shoulder is the driving force. They will also say that if your left shoulder isn’t under your chin then you are doing something wrong… 😊

  • @tlavery59

    So when you take the club back for chipping, and pitching are you letting the weight of the club determine the speed of the club head on the downswing?

  • @larrytravis570
    @larrytravis570 8 місяців тому

    When you emphasize the weight on the left side for chipping... is the pressure more toward the inside or outside of the left foot?
    Because of this great lesson I now see my fault...
    I think I lean back because of missing cartilage on the inside of my left knee. Knee (tried many) braces don't work cuz they pinch the bones together...ouch!
    maybe an insert inside my shoe could tilt me to one side... to allow extended practice time.
    thanks again the "Forever" lesson.

    Adam I am such of fan of all your swing philosophies, but this one is leaving me questioning. Parker the short game chef says the club should be trailing behind the hands ,not in front. When I watch guys like kuchar and Mitchell, they certainly have the club trailing behind the hands during the pitching motion.

  • @juancampos9353

    Adam great video. I am a low handicapper but my short game is miserable. The main reason is my fear of shanking a short chip shot or short pitch shot of maybe 30 yards. This has lead to chunks, blading the ball and just pathetic shots. I have tried everything. I now chip with my hybrid and pitch my shots like a bunker shot. Any thoughts or help?

    • @PorzakGolf
      @PorzakGolf  2 місяці тому

      Absolutely my man… just do the absolute best you can to preset your desired impact position with your setup! This will take away many variables and allow you to do the least amount in motion necessary to hit it well!

    I always learned to chip, pitch and spin with a sand wedge mainly because when playing in a cart I only had to take one club other than the putter to make pretty much any shot from 100 yards in with one club and never had to take 3 clubs with me hit a shot. Just lazy I guess.

      Totally disagree. It’s simple. Maybe It’s the hip bump that’s got ya hung up? I’ve never heard of it until a few weeks ago. I am a student of the game and immediately recognized just how correct he is. I’ve been taking lessons from everyone ever in a golf digest, and from a little red book, the 5 fundamentals and every other one written…….except natural 😂 Adam simplifies the details in a way that should help you take it to the course.
