Thank you so much for putting the magnifying glass on this. The hips must be trained as I can attest when I'm hitting good, my hips are on point and when they aren't I literally blow up.
Have booked my lessons to see you on in a couple of weeks. I’m coming from Gold Coast Australia to see you. You are magnificent. This is my Holy Grail 🙏
Just a update that I wanted to personally share on this feed....I assist in coaching a small school located in high desert California. Sharing this drill has improved their swing and drawn big smiles from my high school players. A huge thank you to Porzak golf!!
Here's the thing. WOW so far I am amazed at how consistently I am striking the ball with only a couple days of practice. WOW! Deleted all my other UA-cam golf coach subscriptions, so don't let me down Porzak! PLEASE be real.
Golf instruction has come a long way from Hogans book(s) and a monthly golf digest ! I am 57 and a pretty good golfer, but am having to start all over! Staying on top of the ball has always been what I “feel” like I’m doing when I am flushing the ball. I also “feel” like I’m picking the club head almost straight up, in contrast to staying below Hogans pain of glass. I have shattered the glass and broken through! Trying to bring the club back “flat” has been detrimental and caused much grief! This guy is the BEST INSTRUCTOR I have ever seen! THANK YOU!
Best instruction on UA-cam. Started golfing in May 2023 shot 86 twice and broke 40 on 9. Putting the work in now anxiously awaiting spring’s arrival! Than you Adam, greatly appreciate your time.
This is the best explanation of rotating the hips in the correct manner in over 35 years of trying to play golf and shift my way correctly. Thank you so much.
I've been watching videos at lunch for at least a month or two, and I always learn something new. Incredible stuff. Can't wait for Connecticut to thaw out so I can get back on the course. Appreciate you sir and thank you!
Mr. Porzak this is the best explanation of the bump and rotation. My son and I are watching and implementing this and the results are amazing. We just need to master the hip bump and repetition for muscle memory. We hope you can find a way to come to Houston area for a clinic series to sign up for it. 👍🏼👍🏼
Absolutely the best interpretation of the golf swing I’ve ever seen , from setup to complete swing, check points at every stage and when put into practice makes for a great easy to repeat and consistent golf swing.
It seems so simplistic, I can hardly believe it's gonna work, but... Once the temperature gets back up above 10 degrees I'm gonna hit the range and start from the beginning and use this as my template. Thanks in advance Adam. 🙌🏼
Darn, I wanted to be the first from Delaware. I must say though, by practicing with my 3 dot alignment stick, while watching your videos, Im getting it. I lately can see what your going to correct on your students, and how your going to correct it. Thats how good you convey what your teaching via video. Also you don't stray towards the latest fads or buzzwords. Its so rare in golf instruction. Thanks for what you do.
I get the hip bump and rotation around the post. I am sure i don’t do it right every time. If you could come up with a training aid that puts you in the correct position you would sell a lot of them. Great video.
Excellent video like usual. Good coverage of misconceptions, how to get in the correct position, why to get in that position, and how to move into position. You're big on the left shoulder movement in the takeaway/backswing. Do you often encounter students making an upper body sway where their head and chest shift laterally toward the back leg when you tell them to move that left shoulder (as opposed to a right shoulder pull back like you advocate with the right hip on the backswing)? In your experience do you see other problems arise if a student uses the right shoulder instead of the left shoulder for the focus of the backswing coil/twist?
This stuff works so well. Yesterday at range had an awful first half. Topping, s wording, etc. Tried few drills to get back to normal. The single leg post with right leg back helped. Then I realized I was forgetting my hip bump. Bamn. High long draws one after the other. Thanks Porzak golf for everything
Man I just love your videos and this is one is a gem. I have a question on the setup…more specifically the feet. Do the feet need to be perpendicular to the target line or can the feet be flared a bit? I have a left hip issue and would like to incorporate this hip bump, but want to make sure that when applying pressure to the left foot to start the downswing that I can easily post up on the lead leg. Also can you actively use the ground forces using the hip bump? Thank you in advance for any information you can share. Cheers from Tucson!!!
i gotta try and get the preset side tilt into my action to see if it helps me. when i get to the course or range i always forget about it. maybe i do a bit of it naturally but not sure because i can't see myself. i think i do tend to get a bit too stacked forward over the ball but i have a decent pivot action i think. i'm always working on it, thnx.
Quick question mate great videos love your content question is every single pro golfer moves 6-7 inches laterally lead side but you don’t promote this please advise
Sitting with heating pad on my right lower back from18 holes of the “teeter totter”move in swing this video is awesome. Hopefully gets me out of crunching my lower back through ball….U don’t touch on rotation through ball , any feels for keeping rotation through impact? Thank you for such wonderful content
Setting up with the weight on the hamstrings as opposed to the thighs accomplishes the same without putting pressure on the peirra formis on the lead side, which allows pain free loading and unloading. The torso is free to turn with less restriction from the thoracic and lumbar muscle chain being less innervated, thus relaxed. It use gravity more than the pivot to create the energy for lag.
Yes we always teach the hips should align over the ankles which promotes more weight in the balls of the feet versus the heels. When talking about the lead side, the golfer needs an ample amount of hip internal rotation flexibility in order to freely turn back. The piriformis is responsible for external rotation of the hip but is such a small muscle that the glutes may be more of a contributor to external rotation.
I'll give it a try, thanks. But nevertheless question: Today I have to use a 7-iron +/-125 yards. Will this rotation give me more length, or more comfort and consistency? Or both?
When your swing becomes more rotational and you rotate around fix points, not only does this increase your consistency, but it also increases your power! That’s the beauty of what we teach…you’re not sacrificing one for the other!
I really struggle not to drive forward laterally with a Shawn clement style throw of the club from the top. Got lots of work to do. Feel like i do this from a fear of losing distance
I love your channel, actual distance is never talked about. Love the hip bump and fixed points but got to say Rorys hips move a lot in downswing. Can you hit drives over 300 using fixed points. Thanks for great content
Good instruction. I noticed something that you say that one of my coaches said. You see/feel that, right? I wish instructors would not say this because it leads the golfer to agree even if they don't. I think it should be more of 'DO you see/feel that'? Love the posts though and have watched a ton of them!
I am seeing/feeling the lead butt cheek almost facing the target at the top of the backswing. Is that ok? I don't want to over rotate the hips and get stuck on the way down. If that makes sense. Cheers and great content!!!
Ive seen so many people let the front knee collapse instead of keeping the front anchor points and it keeps them from turning around the post. Then they lose the feeling of pushing with the left foot.
We appreciate that comment! We are making our way to 100K and only plan on growing even more. Please share our channel with any of your friends and family. That helps with the youtube algorithm! Cheers!
It’s that the hip bump causes the post in the right leg. We just think of the hip bump and not the right leg. You’re going to lose the hip bump when you start to turn.
Hi Adam, big fan of your channel {only 1of2 I watch!} was struggling with hip bump but when I got it right {sometimes} it was so easy to turn. This video is the best ever. I always turned my shoulder towards my right foot. My instructor always told me to keep the chest down but never explained and left me “crunching” after I was let loose on my own. My mirrored dressing room gets some workout now. I REALLY can’t thank you enough! 💥🏌🏻
Who got some ROTATION Gains? 🖐
✋
Thank you so much for putting the magnifying glass on this. The hips must be trained as I can attest when I'm hitting good, my hips are on point and when they aren't I literally blow up.
Hips don’t lie!
Have booked my lessons to see you on in a couple of weeks. I’m coming from Gold Coast Australia to see you. You are magnificent. This is my Holy Grail 🙏
Awesome lesson! Question - what's your take on the trail knee locking out straight in the backswing rotation?
Just a update that I wanted to personally share on this feed....I assist in coaching a small school located in high desert California. Sharing this drill has improved their swing and drawn big smiles from my high school players. A huge thank you to Porzak golf!!
Can’t believe this content is free??! This is pure gold.
🏆🏆🏆
NO DOUBT!!
Here's the thing. WOW so far I am amazed at how consistently I am striking the ball with only a couple days of practice. WOW! Deleted all my other UA-cam golf coach subscriptions, so don't let me down Porzak! PLEASE be real.
By far my favorite instructor to watch. He is so relatable and the instructions are easy to implement at home!
🙏🙏🙏
Best coach on UA-cam hands down. And he a great human being too!

Are you kidding me?! That’s amazing. Great work brotha!
This is the best explanation of rotating the hips in the correct manner in over 35 years of trying to play golf and shift my way correctly. Thank you so much.
This is brilliant no more back or hip issues and tonnes more rotation and speed. Well explained 👏👏👏👏
Thank you so much for watching!
I've been watching videos at lunch for at least a month or two, and I always learn something new. Incredible stuff. Can't wait for Connecticut to thaw out so I can get back on the course. Appreciate you sir and thank you!
Come out to San Diego! Weather is a freezing 70 degrees haha
I lived there for 5 years. Miss it and that horrible weather 😂
Mr. Porzak this is the best explanation of the bump and rotation. My son and I are watching and implementing this and the results are amazing. Insane illustration ! Thanks a lot as ever ! 😊
Glad you liked it and thank you for watching!
Keep it coming please! This is awesome & I feel I’m really close now…anyone who hasnt ordered their Masterclass yet is missing out! So good! 👏💪
More to come! Thanks for being apart of the team!
This is great tried it today and it felt so effortless and fluid.

I love these lessons with amateurs! Thanks!
Most prob my favorite golf instructor on YT... Just explains it well, so that a weekend hacker like myself can understand it....
One of the best videos of Adam. It would help a lot to has a consistent swing. Thank you!!!
Fantastic explanation. Will help to fix my reverse pivot tendencies.
Thank you.
Cheers
Yessir!
I always loved this chanel, i love the lessons , the explainations, the demonstrations just resonate with me
Glad you enjoy it! Thanks for watching

Adam. This is one of your best 👌 and most informative videos regarding the hip bump , set up, and rotation 😊

OMG! Watching again and again! I’m picking up the little nuggets I missed before….❤
Great video! Any way you could post remainder of this lesson? Thank you Adam and Kev!
We will be posting it this coming Friday!

Hey there!
No, not at all because we teach them to turn their right pocket behind them, and not move the right pocket to the right as well!
Great lesson as always, thanks Adam.
My pleasure!

Hip Bump For The Win!!
I am almost embarrassed to say it took me soooo long to put the concept to action. Lol.
Love all your videos man!! Thank you so much
My pleasure!
Great video, it makes a lot of sense.. now to practice it 🙂
Great!
Hi Adam, I saw Lydia Ko did something similar to Hip Bump during her pre shot routine. Do you think it is the same thing you recommend?
Great content. I would really like a video on lead arm dominant swing 👍🏼
Coming soon in the next video!
Been watching your channel from the start, with Gabe on the camera. Great to se you at 100k subs 🎉
Great content😊
Legend! Thank you for sticking with us for that long!

Awesome - I am hoping not to need the hyperice Venom I just ordered after watching your videos
I like the cut of your jib sir. Great content.
Adam, your father must have been a world class golf instructor. He taught you very very well.
Do you push off the right instep of right foot to start the swing sequence?
I’m trying so hard to do this but my upper body/head dip so much when I turn. And if I don’t dip my trail legs straightens

This is next level awsome 🇦🇺😅😎👍
Wow 13:30 was an ah ha moment. I’ve been doing the dip down the whole time.
Similar to stack and tilt maybe in terms of staying centered?
No no no
Ive seen so many people let the front knee collapse instead of keeping the front anchor points and it keeps them from turning around the post. Then they lose the feeling of pushing with the left foot.
Between this lesson and the fast hands lesson, money! You should have 2 times the number of subs that you do( if not more).
We appreciate that comment! We are making our way to 100K and only plan on growing even more.

It’s that the hip bump causes the post in the right leg. We just think of the hip bump and not the right leg. You’re going to lose the hip bump when you start to turn.
Is the hip bump for all shots?
Yessir!
Not chips, pitches, or lobs?
Love the way he cuts out all the tiresome bs...
and sticks to the point.
Every tip worth its weight in gold.
Need to turn the head to the right slightly otherwise you constrict your entire rotation.
Yes of course! For some people that need further rotation that could be a good addition.
The students head is moving 6" to the right. I think, keeping the head still, is the hardest thing to do on the backswing. He was better at the end.
Ez $$$
"Does that make sense? Does that make sense? Does that make sense?"
Does that make sense?
