that’s my dad! he just called me and told me the story. said you were one of the most knowledgeable and helpful people he’s met! thanks for getting him out
As an interested viewer- experiencing similar situations, was your Pop’s attempting to get into his cabin? Our family cabin was located at the 8400 ft sea level in the High Sierra’s. I could write an lengthy essay titled “How muscle and Blood” got us out. Equipment historically did not exist as it is today. 😬
Snatch block science is something every off roader should know. A winch can get you out of a lot, but a 1, 2, 3, 4 snatchblock setup can give you pulling power you can't imagine. Great work!
Ha ha, I think Ole Paul was embarrassed. He wasn't very anxious to be on camera. Another great rescue video, Casey. I was eating a nice big hot bowl of Chilli I just made with honey cornbread while watching this. 😊 That Willys is just so awesome in what you can do with it. I'll bet you thought you died and went to Heaven when you found it! Know you've had to make several modifications on it, but still incredible what you can do with it. Smart move to leave the tracks at home for this one. But, I lOVE the Track Jeep!!! Thanks for taking us along again. I'm ready to go anytime!! 👍🏻👍🏻
It’s amazing to me how strong that little Willy’s performs, it looks so light to be pulling big trucks around like it does! Is it just the way it was engineered? - Oh, it’s the snatch block system
What I like from your videos isn't the equipment used or the trucks, but the knowledge about physics and how to multiply forces by using pulleys in real world problem. The real heroes here are you and the those 2 trees! Great rescue! ;-)
Nice solo camera work and recovery! You are really showing your stuff now! You are having some fun... so are viewers. Keep up the positive can-do theme!
You are a great person for helping out people in need. I watched another one of your videos where you helped rescue the same stuck on the pass with the broken chains when no one else would. Great job!!!
You're an artist. That's beautiful the way you run those lines and angles and pressure etc. That long bed had no business on that hill, that night. I bet he heard a thing or two about it on that frozen hike. LOL
Very impressed with your analysis and use of winches and ropes/cables. Love seeing the Oregon terrain. Haven't lived in Oregon since 1968. My father owned a logging company in Lakeview in the '40s and '50s. He would have been impressed by your rigging. By the way, he helped build the road beside Elk Lake and south. Looking forward to more videos of the Oregon countryside and making me homesick!!
impressed by your knowledge and professionalism. you have all the gear and tools you may need for any recovery situation. you exercise safety and caution and evaluate the situation before doing anything. you are much more prepared than matt's off-road recovery and his yellow rope. he also doesn't carry a set of jumper cables or a can of gas! you make him look like an amateur. if I was stuck and had the choice between you and matt I would 100% be phoning you up! keep up with the great work and you will become very successful
I was once the only female in a group of off-roaders. One rig broke down (tranny issue). Another was sliding off of the road into the ditch; tried to tell them to chain the front end to a tree on the other side of the road, so it would pivot toward the road instead of falling further into the ditch, and putting the front tires where they had some bite. (Mud, not snow, but same principle applies.) They didn't do that. We all ended up in the last rig, which blew a head gasket. We had to walk many miles that night. Guess how they got it out, the next day, when they went back for the one in the ditch.🤣🤣🤣 They did NOT want to admit it, but they did eventually do exactly what I said to do in first place.
I owned a 2019 tundra and I can say the traction control works so good that it can Really get you in situations that aren’t great. Like a bad case of false sense of security.
New to your channel, but have binge watched several videos! Love the old Willys Jeep! If you are looking for a video idea, I would love to see a full walk around on the Willys with Engine, trans, axles, gears, lockers, recovery gear, etc! Awesome rig and love to see you rescue folks with it!
Masterful. It's always a pleasure to watch someone who is truly a master of his craft. (Of course, if you're like most masters of crafts all you usually see is the mistakes...😅)
Try hiking 10 hours in about 20 inches of snow, most importantly don't lose hope and just be happy knowing you'll figure it out, got me out of situations many times over. And don't be stupid go prepared most importantly.
Jeeps, been savin em for decades. In the army it was called a general purpose vehicle. Then the soldiers called it a G.P. then it went from a G.P. to a jeep. Cool history.
Burrrrrr. Just moved from La Pine.....cold, colder than Bend for it's higher in elevation, yet LaPine sits about 45 minutes south of Bend Love the fishing and the elk
Your Jeep is a beast. I love it your bad ass. I want one of those Jeeps for Christmas LOL now back to You video I'm glad I subscribed. Joe Dirt NorCal California Nevada City
Proving once again that a light weight vehicle with the right equipment and a bunch of knowhow can recover a much larger and heavier vehicle! An interesting side note, I recently read that Mr Willys, the man the vehicle is named for, actually pronounced his name as "Willis", and that Willys as his name or the name of the manufacturer is not the plural or possesive form of "Willy". No, I'm not on a mission to correct the world, just a fun fact. In my heart and mind it will always be the "Willys", as Casey pronounced it!
The rubber mats that are used for animals work amazing for when you know you will need to get metal over a rock. Helps make everything slide verse grinding against the rock.
I really enjoy watching your videos. You share lots of useful information and the scenarios in off road recovery are pretty exciting. I'm enjoying my holiday watching your videos. Happy Holidays to you and your family!!
That truck seems too big for that landscape. I like the landscape views as you drive through the forest. I’m guessing the “dollies” are the trailer wheels?
Subscribed, since starting off roading with my Tacoma, guys like you are angels from Heaven. Hope we have the same kind of guys here in Canada 🇨🇦...but I have no idea.
Great video I love watching snow recovery videos. Hoping for a lot of snow this year . Looking at new tires for the season what a pain choosing new tire I think I have ran them all at some point. Might just go with i rock radials but they suck on the road and ice.
that’s my dad! he just called me and told me the story. said you were one of the most knowledgeable and helpful people he’s met! thanks for getting him out
That's awesome! I'm glad I was able to help out!

Very cool I love seeing the people commenting about their family or themselves being pulled out your dad is nuts but was he doing up there anyways
@@garbinator09 I would love to hear that story I bet you it's amazing what year was it and do you remember what kind of vehicle you guys were in?
Tell your Dad to behave himself and carry the right recovery gear. hahaha.
That long bed Tundra is huge! Congratulations on getting that big thing out in one piece. Thanks for taking me along!
It makes my day watching You work. You are so clear in your instructions which makes it easier to get unstuck. Have a Fun day. Peace Out
Enjoying your videos more than Matt's now !
Low key , good camera work , excellent towing knowledge , love your tracked Jeep .
That old jeep sure works well as a recovery vehicle
You explain and are kind with your customers.
I miss all those back roads around central Oregon used to drive all over out there in the 70's.
Snatch block science is something every off roader should know. A winch can get you out of a lot, but a 1, 2, 3, 4 snatchblock setup can give you pulling power you can't imagine. Great work!
Best show re recovery. Got myself off a high centered situation by myself because of what I've seen. Thanks.

Remarkable that the Willy's can pull that heavy Tundra!
Man knows his stuff. Loving the jeep.

Nice recovery! 😁
I am glad that nobody got hurt except Scotty Kilmer
Snatch blocks are great. Good job.
Good rescue. We miss our little Co Pilot. 💪💪💪
You're doing a great job. Keep up the good work 👍
I love that shout out "Matt's Offroad and Recovery rope" 😆

Amazing that you can figure out all the angles and have the tools needed to do the job. Great Job Casey.
The tree's that are available usually figure out the angles for me!

Great Job 👍👍👍
Made it look easy! I bet they were glad to get their truck out without any further damage

Really great manuvering and use of the yankum rope and winch. A winch should be on the top of the list if ya plan on going in precarious places.
He certainly knows how to hook up ropes for leverage.
With a Jeep and a Toyota , ANYTHING is possible .
Cool, a local version of Matt's recovery! Just spent 2yrs in Bend and wondered who did offroad rescue out there, on the coast now
The little lite weight Willie's that not only could it did awesome Willie's 👏 God bless you for everything you do and as always be safe 👍 😊
Another great job x
I figured you'd get him out but not that easily. I thought that first tug was going to do NOTHING and it moved. Nice work.
"Matt's Off Road Recovery Winch" did Casey mean rope?
MORR Winch = Drive Shaft 🤣
Good one! ...and soo true.
Wow man, nice recovery. Great job.
Great job Casey. Luckily for the customer you have a tremendous amount of expertise! Impressive!

Mr Casey Awesome video as always. Thanks for sharing and stay safe
Thank you!
Very interesting recovery, well done. Looks like a sat phone, tent, stove, food and water be good stuff to have if you cain't walk 5 hrs in the snow.
I love Oregon, hated to leave after 6 years when I got transferred to Colorado, beautiful country
love my dd tundra short box

Very smooth, great rigging.

Awesome man. Just found your channel.
Casey do the recovered vehicles require wheel alignments done after a rescue? That was amazing thank you. ❤️🇦🇺🇺🇸
Never had any sort of damage or alignment issue from a recovery
Man open cab jeep snow i dont like freezin anymore great video
Good stuff.
I love that your around Bend and Lapine
Super interested in the dolly setup

Both "Willys" and "Jeep" are mistakes that were never caught until it had become the common term and they just decided to stick with it

Toyota Tundra lives up to the name. Tundra means frozen swamp. The truck just like the name - stuck. Poor couple had quite an ordeal.
Awesome snow recovery good job!
the Willys is a beast! what an awesome rescue! As a former part time Uber driver we go anywhere as long as we can ;-)
That job took a few different hook ups to get them out! Good job getting them out!
Yep, luckily there were some good trees nearby
