It’s nice for indoor fun with my youngest kiddo.
at the time I could afford 2 of them , my boy was 6 years old and wanted to play with cars in the back yard . i brought home a couple of truck loads of dirt and rock free from down the road, and we started building the best crawler course ever . we made the trails as we drove and changed parts whenever we felt like it , a foot tall pile of dirt is huge to a 1/24 scale . my son is 15 now and has three 1/10 scale crawlers , we still have the 1/24 rigs , on a shelf , but its those 2 little trucks that started this journey , and when that was all we had , they were the coolest things on the planet . .
I didn't even know that thing existed
Tiny rigs have their place. But not on your bench! ha! Have an awesome weekend man!
I Only do 1/10 Scale🙏🏽
But I’am Thinking Of trying a 1/8 Scale crawler…
Holms Hobbies Forever🙏🏽❤️
finally a real review and not a fake one cause the company gave a UA-camr one for free and they kiss the companies ass just to get freebies
The tiny scale attraction is a mix of two variables, affordability and portability. For the price of one quality 1/10th rig, you can get around 2, 3 ,4 etc tiny scale rigs. You can also throw a couple tiny rigs in a backpack or basket and take them anywhere.
I personally have 1/24th, 1/18th and 1/10th rigs.
My 1/10’s get the most use, it’s the most satisfying scale for what i like, mostly trailing, hiking and some mild rocks.
If I do get the urge to go small, my 1/18’s are used way more than 1/24’s. Personally I find the smaller the scale, the less engaging/immersive it gets (Insert she said joke here)
Maybe next winter I will build a tiny scale course in the garage, but I usually say that every year lol
Well said 😁😁😁
WHAT!? No dislike of micros and liking 1/10 custom song at the end?! It’s ok I Still hit the like button.
I managed to fit the axspeed od transmision and 0.30 motor. Driveshafts are a pain in the ass tho.
I had an scx24 and hardly ever drove it, if I found a good deal I might get a trx4m but I’m not into the small scale crawlers much, my mini LMT is awesome though!
You need to make that a song though…lol you other tiny truckers can’t deny! 😂😂
Mini crawlers are the move besides the hieght of objects I’ve got a couple that’ll run with some 1/10 scale rigs
@@2strokeboys191 yea they’re just not for me
This rig was flop lots better out there in the 24 and 18 scale platform 😎👍
It can be good for backpack tote.
I love my mini and micros. I live in very snowy northern NY so inside crawling is a go to. Also there are a couple local hobby shops that have indoor courses and hold comps. I have 10 or more 1/18 or smaller. Most are build, play, repeat.
You gotta check out the new fmsm24 trophy camel truck.
i think if you drove my custom 1/18th scale comp build you would be singing a different song.
I love the 1/64th scale!
Ok i have a WPl C24-1. I can;t afford a $300 machine Limited Budget. How to i get Going in 1/10 Scale or big Cheap ?
I cant make you change your mind on minis/micros. But i will say if you take any of these and swap an Injora brushed esc into it they slow crawl thousands of times better and its really cheap.
If a mini could fly through beach sand
.. then maybe
Pretty much all 24th scales are diabolical out of the box to be fair. But once you give them better tires, electronics, and a servo, plus a bit more articulation, they are much better. Just like the 10th scales.
Except for the little TF2s, they are hopeless. I'd be interested if they were leaf sprung however.
I bought one of those when they were on sale for cheap. I haven’t done a thing with it. I think they are using the same motor that is in their Warn winches.
Tell me a 24 is taken off whether we like it or not and that's how I got my foot in the door so if people get their foot in the door then they stay so I do like minis honestly I love them because it's the way I can even do RC because of my job because how busy I am being a father stuff like that I can take them with me I can work on them while I'm unloading stuff like that you know and there's other people that love taking them with them to their job on their lunch break maybe they can catch some rocks play You're deadly here to stay
I have an ascent18 and a FuriTek FX-118 and hardly ever use them. I prefer the 1/10 scale but the small scale trucks seem to be popular.
It's a toy to play with occasionally.
I was hoping you were going to toss it across the room.😂
same 😅😅😅
……..there. Did I convince you yet?
I like m&m's
i hate any thing smaller than 10th too, agreed, these are just huge money makers for the copanies, no fun, hard to work on, no trails that are challenging where the rig does work... 10th or 6th unless your 10yo, then these are perfect for you till 11. #tenthornothing
As a business man you don’t have to like them but to miss out on money opportunities is not wise there is still a need for better quality mini components & they are extremely popular & only growing.
@Casitascrawlers I understand that but have always had a difficult time designing for things in not interested in. It's why we don't really do any racing or bashing specific systems.
But I'm coming around
@@HolmesHobbies That makes sense it’s hard to create products for something you aren’t passionate about. Money is not everything sometimes.
I love your channel and I know you have some great products, but I was a little turned off by this review. I have RC crawlers of all scales and I have just as much fun with minis and micros as I do with 1/10 scale crawlers. I built an awesome indoor course in my garage for my 1/24 scale machines and a smaller indoor course for my 1/32 scale Orandoo Hunter vehicles. These smaller rigs are extremely capable and can be tuned to perform in different situations just like their larger counterparts. When it's raining, snowing, or when it's approaching triple digits outside, the last thing I want to do is run any kind of RC vehicle outdoors. Perhaps there are hobbyists that don't mind running in these conditions and I'm not trying to condemn their choices, but I'm simply pointing out that minis and micros have their place in the hobby. I'm not alone because there are large communities of hobbyists that are fanatical about these small machines. It's okay that you're not a fan of minis and micros, I'll continue to watch and enjoy your content. Cheers!
RC4WD 24 is about the worst micro to make a judgement haha. LOTS to offer in the micro market that is much more capable and more innovative than this.
Strongly disagree on availability of obstacles-easier to carry a micro and rock landscaping becomes a good 15 minute crawl between meetings.
Never commented on any HH videos….but kinda have the urge to not. Seems like a very narrow minded opinion. I don’t run any minis, but bought a 16th for my daughter. I’m sure there’s tons of kids out there that don’t have the funds or means to purchase 1/10th scales. My daughter is 6 and smaller scales are perfect for her to learn. Even though you may not like something doesn’t mean the rest of the world doesn’t and there’s not a market. My 2 cents…
I'm still trying to decide whether or not this is a joke, or you're drunk, or actually this ignorant.
Have you ever checked out any content on YT that focus on this scale?
These range from crappy (like that one on your table), to badass little machines.
They definitely have pros and cons.
What happened to you?
Well said I'm not usually negative and no term but like yeah I could be kind of eventful too because everybody knows how big the 24s are and mine can do lines that 10 scale do all day and also are completely badass
@@gibsonlife573Holmes Hobbies has an awesome history of great products.
When he made a video about thinking of getting into micro crawlers more, you could read the comments and see that there is big interest in micro crawlers, but most importantly massive interest in the idea of HOLMES HOBBIES coming out with something micro crawler.
Whether it's an RTR, a transmission, or something.. people will buy the HH name.
Then this video, which must be a joke.. any minute he is going to drop some badass HH micro creation on his workbench and say "Kidding!!! You know HH still has the suace!"
@MrsRabbit8 truthfully, this video was shot months ago and got released out of order. This was my real opinion when it was filmed.
@@HolmesHobbies your name recognition, innovation, and product quality are worth a pretty penny in this section of the market, which is growing.
Besides that many of us really want to see some badass creations by HH in the micro world.
Some companies have been doing well by teaming up with others, they're killing it.
When i think HH, i think performance.
I lean toward performance more than scale, so an HH RTR would make my head turn so fast that I'd get whiplash.
A lightweight HH bellydragger that could be upgraded and modded to enter Class 1 or 2 or 3?... built in a way that is meant to be built-not-bought?...
HELL YES.
There are some expensive RTR rigs out there, but what's the fun of that?..
Tons of us prefer to build it from the ground up, and are willing to pay for one part after another part after another part until its finished.
Come on dude, you got this!
There are MANY smaller creators who would absolutely love to collaborate with you on it.
Not just two big names coming together to release an expensive RTR that takes much of the fun out of it.
That's my two cents.
Don't like 'em? That's fine, but don't waste our viewing time just to tell us you don't like them and won't bother to review it. Keep them off your channel if you won't give them due diligence, especially now that we're _informed_ that you don't like 'em.
Yeah, Tomley rc does that. Spends time making videos about how much he hates Traxxas products , however he continues to feature them on his channel
I'm fine with it. Wouldn't want to waste money on something so useless that's best as a die-cast model. So to each their own fanboys
@verpine3534 I refuse to only talk about things I know about and like, because as you will see in coming videos, the exposure to them might end up changing my mind. I don't want to be a channel that's all 10/10 reviews
Also, there's a lot of knowledge that gets dropped in the comments. It's helped fill in my gaps!
@@verpine3534 you do know he doesn't give a shit what you think
@@44punisherable 🤣
It’s not great, it’s one of the least performing of the micro scale. I dont think videos like this are going to help grow the channel. You do you though.
