I honestly think that his videos are too slow. Shorts are more useful to intermediates, cause we often get inspiration from those shorts. If you're a beginner, those won't hell you at all, cause they need to be slower and therefore not a short.
You can watch shorts with slow motion. Right click the video and then "Copy video URL at the current time". After then use the link that you copied. And you can decrease the video's speed.

You don’t need to subdivide the bottom plane, the effect works fine without it and it puts less stress on your system
