This was my father's absolute favorite song. Sadly, he passed away several years ago. When we were talking to the funeral director about music for his service, he asked us what his favorite song was. My mother and I looked at each other, then at him, and in unison said, "Joy To The World." He smiled and said, "Oh, he liked carols." Eli' s Coming is a great song but listen to the studio version before the live version. The studio version tells the whole story, in the live version is somewhat overdone. This is the first song I ever learned! I was 3 and my mom taught me this song. She said we went to a restaurant and I sang this song as loud as I could and everyone in the restaurant laughed and clapped. This song absolutely has a special place in my heart. Great song to react to!
Love it! I forgot how soulful this one was. Great 70's band... Three Dog Night had so many hits, and the vocal harmonies were a big part of it. And all so positive and life-affirming.
The lead singer, Chuck Negron, is first cousin to comedian Taylor Negron (remember his cameo appearance as the pizza deliverer in Fast Times At Ridgemont High).
Well, at this moment I’m in Midland, Tx, a Jr in high school on a yellow school bus after our choir made sweepstakes and we are all singing “Jeremiah was a bullfrog…” at the top of our lungs. Thanks for the 1972 memories! 🤗

You have a few years on me. I am in 4th grade north of Pittsburgh. My class sang this in a choral event we did where every class traveled to all the other classes singing a song.
Three Dog Night, The Guess Who, and Bachman Turner Overdrive, were what we considered pop in the 70's. This song has been the soundtrack of a ton of commercials.
Singing lead in this song is Chuck Negron (from the Bronx), what an amazing voice! The writer of this song had the original first line of the song as "Jerimiah was a Prophet", the rest of the group hated the song so to make the song upbeat and fun Chuck changed the words to "Jerimiah was a Bullfrog", the song was a huge hit for Three Dog Night. The name of the group comes from the aborigine's way to describe how cold the night was going to be. A Three Dog Night is a very cold night!
This is a pretty big music box to open you two. Back in the seventies these guys always had something playing on the radio. "One (is the loneliest number), "Shambala", "Never Been to Spain", "Celebrate", "Easy to be Hard", "Black or White". The 3 lead singers were Cory Wells (RIP), Chuck Negron and Danny White.
Three dog night was the supergroup of the early 70's with more than 20 top 40 hits. Deep rabbit home and a lot of variety. As a lot of folks have said, this is Chuck Negron on lead, Cory Wells sang lead on "Momma Told Me Not to Come." A lot of folks have recommended "Black and White," which is a great song with a great backstory. Danny Hutton sings lead on that one. Great reaction, too.
I was a child when this came out. It's hard to express what a popular song this was. Because of its positive vibe it was played everywhere, even in elementary school. Song of the year? Even though Iwas a kid, the hippy theme was not lost on me. Hippy for life!
As for the other song you reacted to, Cory Wells was the lead singer on Mama Told Me Not to Come, a humorous fun rocker! This one is sung by Chuck Negron. Black and White is a song that you will absolutely love by Three Dog Night, with lead vocals by Danny Hutton! But seriously, you can't go wrong with any of their songs.
Plus, they listened to a live version of that song for the first listen. I love live music as much as anyone but that's a major no-no when hearing a great song for the first time IMHO Lol
hree Dog Night was a popular rock band in the late 1960s and 1970s known for their harmonies and multiple lead vocalists. Here are the primary singers of Three Dog Night and some of the notable songs they sang lead on: Chuck Negron: "Joy to the World" (1971) "One" (1969) "Pieces of April" (1972) "Old Fashioned Love Song" (1971) Danny Hutton: "Black and White" (1972) "Mama Told Me (Not to Come)" (1970) "Liar" (1971) Cory Wells: "Shambala" (1973) "Never Been to Spain" (1971) "Eli's Coming" (1969) "Try a Little Tenderness" (1968) Each of these singers brought their unique style to the band's music, contributing to the group's distinctive sound.

"Eli's Coming" ua-cam.com/video/0CuNBengxaQ/v-deo.html (Written by Laura Nyro) their live performance, should be your next listen. Chuck Negron sang lead on this one. Danny Hutton and Cory Wells are the other two lead singers. All three have amazing voices. TDN are one of those groups who are best viewed LIVE!
Chuck Negron is the lead singer of the group. Listen to their song, The Show Must Go On. He sings as a clown on stage and his voice is outstanding. Very versatile 💕 💕 ♥️ ♥️
It’s almost impossible to not be happy listening to this song Three Dog Night was a big part of my childhood in the 70s.. you just can’t go wrong with anything from them
Check Negron is the lead vocal on this. Three Dog Night had over 20 consecutive Top 40 Hits between 1969 and 1974. HUGE! Check out One, An Old Fashioned Love Song, Eli’s Coming, Liar, Pieces of April, and Never Been To Spain for starters. Even “album cuts” like Going in Circles, Woman, and Midnight Runaway just kill! Check out their song “Chest Fever” from the album “Captured Live At The Forum.” Amazing!
“Out in the Country” by Three Dog Night was custom made for Amber. And it is my favorite TDN song! Even if you don’t react to it, do yourself a favor and listen to it!
The smile on Amber’s face made this video one of my all-time favorites on this channel. The song is a favorite, but Amber’s reaction takes it next level!
Joy to the world Came out in 1971 . I was 10 in Kodiak Alaska I remember the spot i was standing on.. Looking at Down town It was playing on the radio I was a Fan at 10 years old ,,Hot Dam i miss the 70s
Great band! They were huge in the 70s! Chuck Negron is one of the all time great voices of pop and rock!Rick! Three Dog Night = three lead singers. Cory Wells is the lead on Mana Told Me Not To Come. Chuck Negron is lead here.
I saw them live circa '72. One of my all time favorite concerts, they tore the place down! This video looks very neat and organized, but they were a wild party band. Michael Allsup, their lead guitar player, is one of the all time great guitar players, yet very under rated. They had a heavy Hammond/Leslie sound that would fill a concert hall.
"One" is the loneliest number, great song! Try a little tenderness, Shambala, Black and White, Never been to Spain! All great tunes by Three Dog Night!
Nice 👍 we use to sing this at school growing up (6/7 ) yrs old it's awesome when you can have over 100 people joining in and singing it . awesome guys 👍❤️
i see nobody answered your question. His name is Chuck Negron. He's on lead for the song "One" which you'll need to hit soon. He kills it on Easy to be Hard and Old Fashioned Love Song, too.
That's Chuck singing lead on this one. Corey sung lead on Shambala and Never Been to Spain. Chuck has a phenomenal voice. You should listen to Pieces of April to hear him being subtle and soaring at the same time.
I wanted to name my son Jeremiah with Jeremy being his nickname but his dad said we are not naming him after a bullfrog, but he did say Jeremy was ok for his name lol. ALWAYS loved this song and still do to this day! His voice is what has stuck with me over the years!!! Thank you reacting and sharing this with us! ~peace
Three Dog Night! I love their version of “ Easy to Be Hard” from the musical “ Hair”. The other gorgeous ballad by them is “ One Is the Loneliest Number”. The lead singer on today’s video is Chuck Negron.
Three Dog Night is an American-Irish rock band from the 60's-70's. This band had a lot of energy. They had 3 guys with great voices that could all sing lead vocals. Some other great songs are "One", "Just An Old fashioned Love Song", Eli's Coming", Shambala", "Mama Told Me Not To Come", "Try A Little Tenderness", "Never Been To Spain", "Easy To Be Hard", "The Show Must Go On" etc.
Chuck Negron is lead singer on this song but they each have lead on their other songs. I got Chuck's autograph after a show in Ardmore, OK in 1983 when they reunited in early 80s. The album "It's A Jungle was the tour they were on. Chuck and Cory Wells were going to bus after show, and I talked to them a bit and ask for autograph. Cory was carrying plates of food so he couldn't but Chuck signed a flier about the album for me. Both were very nice....Danny Hutton was already on bus so didn't meet him.
I saw 3 Dog Night twice during this period. They were the greatest cover band of all time. Try their versions of Nilsson's "One", Daniel Moore's "Shambala" (although B. W. Stevenson's is the best version), Laura Nyro's "Eli's Comin' ", and "Easy To Be Hard" from the musical "Hair". All big hits, all terrific.
I love this song so much. I worked in a bar during college in the 90s, and this song was played nightly. Amber, you may have heard this song in a movie or commercial: 28 Days, The Muppets, Forrest Gump, etc.. My FAVORITE Three Dog Night song, by far - Never Been to Spain. Other good ones: Shambala Old Fashioned Love Song Mama Told Me Sure as I'm Sittin' Here
The way Chuck Negron is singing in this song is what my oldest brother would call "whiskey-ing it up". Basically, it's singing the way one would in a hole-in-the-wall, chicken wire around the stage, backroads bar. It's beautiful if done well, and he does it well here.
The thing I appreciated most about the song was his command of English- "If I WERE the King of the World..." correct grammatical use of the subjunctive voice!
"Black and White", "An Old Fashioned Love Song", "One", and "Mama Told Me Not To Come" are other Three Dog Night awesome songs! Classic 70s... reminds me of my childhood... love it!
This is one of my favorite bands. I would grab my dad’s albums while he was at work. They all three sing lead on different songs. Black and White, Old Fashion Love Song, Eli’s Coming, One and so many more!! The guy singing this song is Chuck Negron. The other singers are Danny Hutton and the great Cory Wells, R.I.P.
These 3 guys are Awesome they take turns singing you have to hear more of their stuff like - Shambala - Never been to Spain - Black and White - One - The Show must go on - Just an Old Fashioned Love song - Easy to be hard....
"One " is my favorite along with "Never Been to Spain" ....so many big hits. They all took turns on leads, all were talented; Chuck Negron was the lead here.
So many great tunes..."Try a Little Tenderness", "Play Something Sweet", "Celebrate"... you definitely need to explore more. And you should also give a listen to The Grass Roots.
Chuck Negron is the lead singer on _Joy To The World_ I sent you an email a month ago with some Three Dog Night songs. One I thought you would really like is called _Out In The Country._ 🥺 Actually, Three Dog Night has a song called "One." 😆 You should listen to that song also.
As a kid at school near Christmas, they was going to have us sing Christmas music. They said, ok, now going to sing Joy to the World. The only song I knew with that name was this one, which had just been released and was popular. So I belted out, "Jeremiah was a bullfrog...!" And the whole class froze, turned and stared and me and then my friends started singing it too. Rest of the class joined in. While the teacher just sat down with a look of, "well of course" look on her face.
As someone who's first name is Jeremiah, it was hard to grow up without someone mentioning this song. In my childhood it was kinda annoying but as I turn 30 all I can do it embrace it. It's a a great song and I love watching people react to it for the first time.
Three dog night consisted of three very talented singers and their band, great voices, many great hits, definitely feel good music. Recommend "Never been to Spain". Thanks Peace!

Actually, from the 60s But 3 Dog night was HUGE in the 70s though...
The lead singer, Chuck Negron, is first cousin to comedian Taylor Negron (remember his cameo appearance as the pizza deliverer in Fast Times At Ridgemont High).
Black and White is one of the best "everyone get along" songs ever written. Please do that one.
I agree with you 💯%
Oh yes, they had a TON of hits, and everything else was of the highest quality as well! A truly Great band!
Well, at this moment I’m in Midland, Tx, a Jr in high school on a yellow school bus after our choir made sweepstakes and we are all singing “Jeremiah was a bullfrog…” at the top of our lungs. Thanks for the 1972 memories! 🤗
1972 baby here 🙋🏻♀️

They are one of the best concerts, you can not go but just seeing them from the screen, I know it was surprising
💗❤️💌💘..
You have a few years on me. I am in 4th grade north of Pittsburgh. My class sang this in a choral event we did where every class traveled to all the other classes singing a song.
OMG I just added a comment along these same lines! We used to sing the song on the bus on field trips. Greetings, fellow 70s child!
Joy To the World released April 1971.
Gonna throw Old Fashioned Love Song to that radio list as well.
Danny Hutton is the only surviving member
@@garybeemer2339 Chuck Negron is still alive. Danny Hutton is the only one still touring as Three Dog Night though.
Thanks for not saying "rabbit hole'...👍👏👏.. hope more commenters will use 'music box" from now on
“Never Been to Spain” is another great song by Three Dog Night!
Classic
You need to do Never Been to Spain as it mentions Oklahoma!
Right! But please don't do the live performance when they're in their 60's or older. Great song, but the voices didn't age well.
Chuck Negron, of Hispanic heritage. I fell in love with them back in the 70s. At one time they were considered the greatest rock band, even.
I was a child when this came out. It's hard to express what a popular song this was. Because of its positive vibe it was played everywhere, even in elementary school. Song of the year? Even though Iwas a kid, the hippy theme was not lost on me. Hippy for life!
Written by Hoyt Axton, a great singer, and writer himself. By the way, his mother cowrote Heartbreak Hotel the hit by Elvis.
Remember singing this at a nursing home as a group in elementary school - they loved it! And so did we!
I remember singing this song a lot when in kindergarten back in the 70's . I smile every time I heat this song.
@@michaelderamo1866 I totally agree, I always say NEVER listen to a live version for a first listen!
Danny Hutton gets the credit, I guess because he’s the lead singer. Definitely not saying you are wrong though. Not looking for a disagreement.
hree Dog Night was a popular rock band in the late 1960s and 1970s known for their harmonies and multiple lead vocalists. Here are the primary singers of Three Dog Night and some of the notable songs they sang lead on:
Chuck Negron:
"Joy to the World" (1971)
"One" (1969)
"Pieces of April" (1972)
"Old Fashioned Love Song" (1971)
Danny Hutton:
"Black and White" (1972)
"Mama Told Me (Not to Come)" (1970)
"Liar" (1971)
Cory Wells:
"Shambala" (1973)
"Never Been to Spain" (1971)
"Eli's Coming" (1969)
"Try a Little Tenderness" (1968)
Each of these singers brought their unique style to the band's music, contributing to the group's distinctive sound.
This was probably my favorite song when I was in kindergarten ( about the same time this was released ).
Hard to describe how big these guys were in the 70's. Three lead singers...all with a great voice.
"Easy to be Hard" is great and so is "One", "Never been to Spain", "Just an Old Fashioned Love Song" and so many others.
Oooh, yes! “Just an old fashioned love song” is FANTASTIC
HELLO - Mama Told Me Not To Come...??!! ;-)
Eli’s Coming live.
This was one of the groups on the 8-track in the paneled and carpeted Chevy van with the curtains and the beads. The joy of my youth! My parents rocked!

I had a 66 Chevy van fully converted into a living space with a table that made down into a bed and full cabinets. The main feature was an awesome sound system!
I can see that van in my mind's eye,and yes 8 tracks!
Singer's name is Chuck Negron. Corey Wells also sings lead on dome of their stuff. Many hits in the 70's.
Chuck Negron had such a powerful and amazing voice
TDN are such an underrated band!! Please check out their songs "Shambala" & "Easy To Be Hard" & "Mama Told Me Not To Come" 🎶💗🎶 Keep smiling!! ✨😁✨
They have been one of my most favorite bands, ever, most of my life, along with Steppenwolf. These bands bring back my childhood,
@@elizabeths50 Amen!!! We are lucky to have these songs and bands as the soundtrack to our childhoods... 🥰🎶🥰
Laura Nyro is another rabbit hole.❤️
Three Dog Night has a lot of great music.
This song is time travel to 1971.❤
Chuck Negron is the lead singer of the group. Listen to their song, The Show Must Go On. He sings as a clown on stage and his voice is outstanding. Very versatile 💕 💕 ♥️ ♥️
It’s almost impossible to not be happy listening to this song
Three Dog Night was a big part of my childhood in the 70s.. you just can’t go wrong with anything from them
Mine to, I LOVE THEM 70s ,,, Miss my childhood .... SO MUCH
Mine to Born in 1960 ...
Right their with in that note man.... 👉👍
The three part harmony is what still gives them that sound
Reminds me of an old fashioned love song
we sang this in elementary school music class , circa 1973 , and all the boys sang the "you know i love the ladies " part !!!, brings back memories
Lead singer on Joy is Chuck Negron..his sound comes from singing on the street corners of the Bronx NY
Three dog night. Love love, love, love them. Love all their songs. "Mama told me" " Eli's Coming" just to name a few
Yaaas! Mama Told Me. I think they did that one though.
@@kahuna754 Oh ok I wasn't sure if they did.
“Out in the Country” by Three Dog Night was custom made for Amber. And it is my favorite TDN song! Even if you don’t react to it, do yourself a favor and listen to it!
One cannot help but smile when hearing this song. Gets me every time! Love, love, love it!!
The smile on Amber’s face made this video one of my all-time favorites on this channel. The song is a favorite, but Amber’s reaction takes it next level!
When she went back and her face and her gesture was awesome!!!
Joy to the world Came out in 1971 . I was 10 in Kodiak Alaska I remember the spot i was standing on.. Looking at Down town It was playing on the radio I was a Fan at 10 years old ,,Hot Dam i miss the 70s
Journey and 3 dog night Chuck looks so much like Steve Perry with a Mustache This song came out in 1971 , The Good ole 70s
Chuck Negron was the lead singer in this song, he's also the high pitched voices also!!!
Nice 👍 we use to sing this at school growing up (6/7 ) yrs old it's awesome when you can have over 100 people joining in and singing it . awesome guys 👍❤️
You guys should react to…
Three Dog Night - Black & White
🎸🤘
This song came out shortly after my brother, named Jeremiah, was born. I was soooo upset that he was going to be a bullfrog when he grew up. lol
😂😭🤣😂
Oh, that's too funny!
🤣😅🤣❣️
They do one of the greatest renditions of Otis Redding's "Try a Little Tenderness" truly amazing.
The lead vocalist on this song is Chuck Negron.
Check out the songs Family of Man and Celebrate
Peace to you.
i see nobody answered your question. His name is Chuck Negron. He's on lead for the song "One" which you'll need to hit soon. He kills it on Easy to be Hard and Old Fashioned Love Song, too.
"Eli's Coming" "Easy to be Hard" these two songs are the best...Please do a reaction!!
Great suggestions - love those two!
“Eli’s Coming” is another great Three Dog Night song. I saw them in concert in the 70s. So many good songs you can’t go wrong.
I highly recommend "Eli's coming" talk about a song you won't forget! The way they do it live is so damn good! ✌️❤🍀
All three of the "Dogs" sang lead vocal on various songs. Danny Hutton, Cory Wells and Chuck Negron. Negron sang Joy to the World.
~peace
Kid probably dodged that bu##et, Pearl Jam's would have been like 180 from joy to the world.🤷♂️
Three Dog Night!
That was Chuck Negron on lead vocals. listen to Easy To Be Hard, He really shows his vocal range.
"Easy To Be Hard" really highlights his voice and the lyrics are very powerful,
Chuck was my favorite 3 dogger!
Just reading the title gives me a flashback to balsam and sandalwood incense.
Other good ones:
Shambala
Old Fashioned Love Song
Mama Told Me
Sure as I'm Sittin' Here
YES!! NEVER BEEN TO SPAIN!! 👍🏻😃❣️AND A LOT MORE GREATS!!
The way Chuck Negron is singing in this song is what my oldest brother would call "whiskey-ing it up". Basically, it's singing the way one would in a hole-in-the-wall, chicken wire around the stage, backroads bar. It's beautiful if done well, and he does it well here.
The thing I appreciated most about the song was his command of English-
"If I WERE the King of the World..." correct grammatical use of the subjunctive voice!
"Black and White", "An Old Fashioned Love Song", "One", and "Mama Told Me Not To Come" are other Three Dog Night awesome songs! Classic 70s... reminds me of my childhood... love it!
Go Three Dog Night yeah
This is one of my favorite bands. I would grab my dad’s albums while he was at work. They all three sing lead on different songs. Black and White, Old Fashion Love Song, Eli’s Coming, One and so many more!! The guy singing this song is Chuck Negron. The other singers are Danny Hutton and the great Cory Wells, R.I.P.
These 3 guys are Awesome they take turns singing you have to hear more of their stuff like - Shambala - Never been to Spain - Black and White - One - The Show must go on - Just an Old Fashioned Love song - Easy to be hard....
"The Show Must Go On" - You love his voice? You definitely need this song! This song must go on!!!
My favorite song of theirs.
My favorite xoxo
"One " is my favorite along with "Never Been to Spain" ....so many big hits. They all took turns on leads, all were talented; Chuck Negron was the lead here.
Love "never been to Spain!!"
Mine also!
YES! 😆
I am 64 so that one really rings true for me!
As someone who's first name is Jeremiah, it was hard to grow up without someone mentioning this song. In my childhood it was kinda annoying but as I turn 30 all I can do it embrace it. It's a a great song and I love watching people react to it for the first time.
These guys were huge. So many styles of songs. Try Eli’s Coming next
Three dog night consisted of three very talented singers and their band, great voices, many great hits, definitely feel good music. Recommend "Never been to Spain". Thanks Peace!
YES!! 👍🏻😃❣️
