Not only is he a very strong offense mage, he also has very broken support spells like the valkyrie spell that amps everyone and the valkyries being able to attack people too.
Easily. I see him moving into A Tier or even higher, paint magic is no joke, I see it just as strong as Dream Magic, by far my favorite magic ability. I based this off of Rill’s current experience and where the anime is currently, but I can only imagine in the next few seasons that Rill climbs to B+ or A.
you forgot to mention that Jack also adapts in time to anyone who is with, or to him enemy. Which explains of how he is able to do so much. On top of that, even Yami asked if he got to used to the hardening magic (forgot what that was) of one the possessed by an elf. He said that he finally is, and cut it no problems which before he actually had alot of problems to do so

In Kaiser's defense, Fuegoleon faced an elf, not Kaiser himself, as he was being possessed. Must remember that the elves were a peaceful race, meaning that they doesn’t have the batte-experience that the captains have. Moreover, I wouldn't say the elf was easily defeated, since he was blocking both Fuegoleon and Salamander's attacks with relative ease, in fact, the vortex was washing away Fuego's magic and in the manga, the vortex even tore the fire spirit apart. Regarding the Captains' Battle, he was blocking the attacks of his fellow Captains without any problem, being Salamander the only one who could threaten his defense, moreover, thanks to him, Nozel was able to trap Fuegoleon for a respectable time. And during the final moments of the fight, his vortex magic was basically the reason the attack of his team could be carried out. And in the movie, Asta, Noelle and Finral were able to escape from the stadium thanks to Kaiser, as he was holding out the enemy, Yami even thanked him.

I think Rill will become more Relevant later in the series…quite possible towards the middle of the next season when we see how strong he’s gotten. As for others…ehhhh you might be right, I like Jack the Ripper’s Personality but I do feel him way under powered compared to the others. It’s going to be interesting what they decided to do with Fuegoleon’s character and his development.

Personally, my rankings for the captains ranging from strongest to weakest is; Leona/Yami (1st or 2nd interchangeably), Dorothy, Fuegoleon, William, Nozel, Rill, Kaiser, Charlotte then Jack being the weakest. :/
to be fair, Kaiser's magic unable others to attack him with magic abilities. You need to either A: to be more physically powerful than Kaiser. or B: "to use something as a decoy like how Fuegoleon used his fire spirit salamander and attacked Kaiser using magic when he was caught off guard. even if this is anime based tier list, rill should be ranked high, his magic is too strong that the crystal can't handle his own power and it broke instantly, he also managed to capture the former purple orca captain without an ease with his spell... although he's a lot lot stronger in the manga, he isn't as weak as kaiser in the anime
I ranked him there based off of experience as well. Aside from being a new captain, keep in mind Kaiser is a new captain as well. It’s like using the logic, Asta has some of the most power anti-Magic and is easily S-Tier…sure but what point in the story are we talking about? Asta when he first gets his grimore or Asta after 4 battles under his belt and is more knowledgeable. Seniority plays a massive role…someone could be powerful but unable to accurately use their ability and skill.
I think the crystal breaking instantly was a scene from the Manga and not the anime, it might have been cut out, which is a shame. But I’m sure when I revisit this list after the end of next season, I’m sure it’ll be a ton of different captains (mainly 1) and everyone on the list is going to move up or down.
if we're talking about the experience, then yes he's definitely below everyone except kaiser, but your tier list is about "strongest" magic knight captain, and that contains the characters' stregth and their magic and how well they used it.. Yes it's true he can't use his power very well, that's why the crystal broke because it went overflowing, but he managed to improve a lot because of the elf within him and also the training in the heart kingdom And btw, that crystal scene is also in anime. I still don't think he should be ranked equal as kaiser, I pretty much agree with the rest tho, Jack was pretty bad in the anime but he's great in the manga
Of course but how many people read the manga and only watch the anime? Would make no sense for me to make a list that less that 50% of people understand and would spoil upcoming parts for plenty of people. If that be the case, I should have removed William and hand Yuno on there since it becomes the Captain of the Golden dawn. But that alone would a massive spoiler for more than 50% of viewers. I think with the experience he gained in the heart kingdom, he’s going to be a formidable magic knight captain…but can’t jump the gun if he’s still a novice at the time. Even in the video I said that he would instantly move up as the series progresses.
As for Jack, they describe him well in the anime and his abilities are supposed to be great, especially when it comes to slicing magic, apparently he’s supposed to be able to escape dream magic as well…but the anime didn’t do him any Justice…what’s shame if you ask me.
yeah Mereleona is like one of the strongest captian. for me the top 3 strongest captian is yami. I completely agree…she’s crazy powerful, but a lot Meroleon strength comes from training and just always pushing herself. A good example is how respected by her brother she is, and how she was willing to take on multiple elves and give it her all I think Rill will be there eventually…the more he becomes proficient with his magical abilities, the stronger he will get. He’s already has OP magical abilities, he just needs to hone in on his skill.

(Hopefully at the end of each season) I would I have loved to ranked everyone’s favorite characters in S / A Tier but that would take away from the ranking. I’m sure we’ll have a few new captains and captains who have improved along the way. No hate for Rill, he’s very stronger with his painting Magic, but very new at the position…I’m sure he’ll place much higher as the series progresses into the next arc.
I do have to disagree about Noelle. SHe will always stay by Asta's side. Whether he is a magic knight, wizard king, or if he decides to quit being a magic knight. If she ever became the captain of the Silver Eagles, she would always be spying on Asta and not getting anything done.

Yeahhhh. I think a lot of this falls back on screen time…if this entire series had been based off of the golden dawn, and we followed Yuno instead of Asta, I can see a whole different perspective of William and Yami.
Easily overpowered…agreed. Age and experience go a long way…hence why he sat out in the Magic Knight Captain Battle. Look at the battle with Charmy where he struggled, Experience goes a long way…I’m sure Yami would have been ranked lower when he initially started. D but as he gains more experience he’s easily going to blow through C and B. I see him sitting in A rank as the series progresses.

Oh I have…but more than half haven’t…so it would make sense to only this list at the current place in the Anime. Once the upcoming seasons finish, I can always revamp this list. If I included manga stuff, I would have removed William and put Yuno on the list. And yes, Rill has grown significantly…like I mentioned in the video.

I think that Jack would rank higher in the manga because before he died he cut two or three Lucius clones in one attack. Yuno was struggling so hard with only one Lucius which I can understand because he was using never neverland in the whole kingdom LOL.

Yeahhhh. I think a lot of this falls back on screen time…if this entire series had been based off of the golden dawn, and we followed Yuno instead of Asta, I can see a whole different perspective of William and Yami.

Look at the battle with Charmy where he struggled, Experience goes a long way…I’m sure Yami would have been ranked lower when he initially started.
D but as he gains more experience he’s easily going to blow through C and B. I see him sitting in A rank as the series progresses.
I will say without giving spoilers, since I’ve read a bit of the Manga, he will be ranked way higher when I come back and re-rank the new Captains and him.

I would have loved to make one that follows the manga but that would spoil for a ton of viewers who only watch the anime. I think it’s like a 85%\15% of anime to manga viewers.

Oh I have…but more than half haven’t…so it would make sense to only this list at the current place in the Anime.
Once the upcoming seasons finish, I can always revamp this list.
If I included manga stuff, I would have removed William and put Yuno on the list.
And yes, Rill has grown significantly…like I mentioned in the video.
