Pro tip: When you have the brass beast, consider bringing a shotgun, giving you a more mobile alternative while still allowing you to dish out some serious damage.
People will say this messes up your Medic, but it really doesn't (Just switch off the shotgun). The Brass Beast encourages a playstyle that requires you to move positions a lot, whether that be flanking or switching defensive positions. The shotgun is the perfect sidegrade for moving around and still having a little firepower. If a medic will pocket you, don't use the Brass Beast, and use a sandwich. Using Brass beast shotgun combo with a Medic won't be effective, since you will usually take control of areas using your übers. The limited mobility of the Brass Beast hinders area control.
I love how this guy not only tackles Heavy's secondaries, but also prioritizes giving your Heavy a balanced and nutritious diet. Truly an example of what all Heavy mains should be.
The banana is actually really good at keeping medics free of afterburn and other damage other time effects due to you basically being able to spawn a small health kit every 10 seconds.
0:53 sir, i do not doubt that you are infact a heavy main but i must object to this, heavy is a strong man, not a fat man, under the layer of fat, heavy is just all muscles real life strong men also looked much like heavy, having a big gut and huge muscles, it would be safe to assume heavy weapon expert does infact exercise also like half of his taunts are work out related.
I think i’m the only person who prefers the Banana over the sandwich as medic. Especially in pubs where I can’t rely on my team to keep me alive, having even a small medkit much more often Is usually just fine if not better for longer fights than the sandwich
I honestly really like it too, because I prefer to give my medic health more often instead of a nice amount at once. I've had a few times where me having the banana instead of the sandvich saved my medic from afterburn
the family business is a good shotgun, but I'm too used to the speed of default shotgun/panic attack so I purposefully shot slower when dealing with faster targets.
The panic attack (or shotfun as I like to call it) and fists of steel synergise really well in my experience. The switch speed buff makes going from fists of steel to shotgun as quick as stock fists, allowing you to safely close in for some hefty meatshots. I like pairing these with the brass beast, because both these weapons almost kinda fill the same safe positioning niche that it desperately needs
Today I was playing heavy and ate the banana while there was a medic healing me, i did not notice him, when I ate it, he looked so betrayed, stopped healing me, and died to a scream fortress spell, I felt so guilty
I remember one time I was in a server with a Heavy who only used the shotgun. He absolutely wrecked face. Whoever he was, he was so good that even not using a main wasn't enough of a handicap
Medic main here: a banana can often be enough to help us out in a pinch. A small health kit can put out fire just as well as medium can, and self healing is a lot quicker than you might think. Plus, if I’m busy healing someone else or ubering, it’s good to know you can eat and I can still rely on your food for the next 30 seconds
heavy having a phd in russian literature makes him more of a doctor than medic currently is. ..but that means nothing to how much of an alpha man he is when he eats that steak.

as heavy main, i always go with the second banana. Its super conveineint for how fast it recharges, true it may not give as much health to others but you can still get your health back up pretty good in a short amount of time
The chocolate and the gloves of running urgently have been my go to for years, makes those 20 second respawn times on some defense maps and the trek back to the front lines a lot less tedious at the expense of viable melee and a second weapon, pairs pretty well with the tomislav
it really depends on what's going on in the game, as some situations work better with different secondaries. pocket medic - sandvich equipped monkey - banan equipped solo heavy - fishcake (none of that dalokos here) running the brass beast - any shotgun equiped
Pocket - banan(faster recharge allowing you to use it if you med takes alot of dmg at close intervals) Monki - banana(obviously) Solo - potassium(same reason as the medic but for self) Brass beast - peel & heal(you'll be at low hp after a fight since you can barely strafe.) Reject weapon variety, return to monki
ima just say, chocolate all the way. Gives medic less need to babysit you, the extra health is invaluable in some engagements (the times I've been dropped to under 50HP using the chocolate and thought "Wow I would've died using any other secondary") and the extra healing you get from healthpacks is a nice bonus. Plus with the fist of steel I can just walk in front of a sentry and laugh (a level 2 sentry will deal 8 x 16 damage per second to a 300HP heavy (8 x 16 = 128DPS, 300HP heavy is dead in under 2.4 seconds) OR it would deal 8 x 10 damage per second to a 350HP FOS heavy (8 x 10 = 80 DPS, 350HP heavy lives for nearly 4.4 seconds). Sure it'd be dumb to just walk into a sentry line of sight and I can't think of too many reasons you'd do it, but you can! Anyway, joking aside, I do love the chocolate and think it gets a really bad wrap for what is a potent but balanced sidegrade to the sandvich. If there was 1 or 2 changes I'd give it, I'd make it so the HP bonus last a bit longer (30 seconds isn't that long to keep on needing to eat it) and/or make eating it faster (cause 100HP really shouldn't take a full 4 seconds). Wish more people realised that it's a competent secondary. Also it pairs well with the quick fix cause then you can overheal to 425.
Gotta add that it can be used to reduce the Mininum HP threshold of the GRU, and that because of the way the GRU works, the bar healing potential can actually be increased to around 2.5 times it's normal healing rate, which makes it kind of a straight upgrade to the Banana when the user knows that Dalokohs Flashing is a thing lol Dalokohs bar all da way baybeeee
I'd also like to note that the steak is actually really good in getting you to engagements. Pair it with the KGB or the Fists of steal and you are basically a heavy knight. KGB in particular if you manage to get a kill on the last few seconds of the buff, you'll get free crits for 5 seconds which you can use to shred anyone up close or at range
Plus, this pairs well with the Natascha or Brass Beast since these 2 items feature that 20% resistance while spun up stat. Once you eat the dalokohs bar, you have a total 350 health, pair it with the Natascha or Brass Beast, you have a massive 425 health. it can barely survive a full charge headshot which is pretty cool.

Hey, El maxo. I always had this funny thought of every class getting an edible/drinkable secondary. The Engineer could have coffee that boost his build/upgrade times. The Medic would have bratwurst to buff his own health. The soldier would have a burger that gives him the crit-a-cola effect on a burger: "Edible Americritcana" would be the name. The Demoman would just have his drink, which gives him more damage because of drunken rage. Pyro would have roasted marshmallows that give him slight damage resistance bonus for a good amount of time. Sniper would have shrimp because he's Australian, and they just give him health restore and the ability to survive a backstab once because he absorbed the shrimp's soul to gain a spiritual shell.
Keeping good content coming out often your one of my favourite tf2 youtubers right now. 0:36 been looking for good beetles songs recently anybody know this one right here I recongise it
One neat thing with the dahlokos bar is that you can live 2 150 damage quickscope headshots without a medic, making it an effective tool to deal with those pesky sniper bots in 1v1s
I just came up for a new heavy consumable. Its basically just 4 sandvitches in a lunchbox that takes 4 times longer to charge but you can share it with more than 1 person
I may be the only person to say this, but i have a preference to the buffalo steak Sandvich. For a few reasons. 1 the speed boost lets you run to the front lines faster 2. It encourages you to not be greedy and help teammates, since it does heal them the same a normal Sandvich does. And since you can't eat it for yourself, you feel more inclined to help your team out 3. It's funny as heck getting a group of 5 heavies on steak punching the crap out of everybody 4. It's raw steak. Need I say more? 5. Combining it with the KGB is amazing. Pick a weak target like a Scout and get the 5 second actual crit buff, then just go to town. Once you have the KGB boost active, you can even beat up a demoknight.
Potentially, it’s my favourite secondary for Pyro so we’ll see. I might cover a few other classes like Engineer and Spy before I loop back around to Pyro though, maybe in the next t month or two.
I'm not a Heavy Main, but I'd consider the Buffalo Steak Sandvich a C tier option since it allows you to reach mid on 5CP or specific maps in Payload with a long distance to trek since it does bring you up to 104% from 77% and can wear off around the time you reach the point while being a Medium health kit for your team.
Family business or Shotgun for fat scout or brass beast, it's your choice of preference. Banana if you have a pocket medic because you can toss it more often to keep your medic alive under heavy fire, while leaving them to their natural Regen between fights. Sandwich for using on yourself
A very interesting fact regarding 1:54 Valve does not consider the game poker night at the inventory to be canonical within the Team fortress 2 universe So it has never been confirmed that heavy is smart and has that PhD in Russian literature
The second banana is super good because it can help you in situations where you need to heal fast and normally with the sandwich you”ll be dead because of the cooldown.
Personally for me I would put the banana on S tier and keep the sandvich above the banana since I feel that the banana is basically like a on demand health pack where ever u go and how it basically refreshes fully after u get in combat and out and it could also be ok to use if u have a med pocketing since u can just protect them but meds usually don’t exist in pubs and even if they do they most likely are pocketing their friends.
People only ever seem to use the shotgun as a fat scout. But the shotgun actually helps cover the heavies greatest weakness. His lack of mobility. It's great to have out when you're advancing to the front line, or to cover yourself when retreating. Which I think is actually the original intended use of it. I think both the shotgun on heavy and the medics stock syringe gun both suffer pretty heavily from people just using them wrong.
