    Nice fix. I repaired an Echo gas powered drill for a person last week that the carb was so plugged and corroded that I had to buy a new one. Could not find an aftermarket for a Walbro WYL56. Had to buy OEM. Cost over $65.00 which was ridiculous. Thanks for the video's.

    Hi Jeff, I just took my similar lawnmower out of the container where it has been sitting for 15 years. First question was, what do I have to do to get it to run again. It looks quite good but it won't start, thanks for this video, it will surely help me a lot to put life back into it. Started on first pull, ran for about 5 seconds, shut it off and then it wouldn't start again. Not sure what happened.EDIT: Air filter was a dirt brick. Friend said he didnt service it the six years he had it. Guessing the engine may have flooded.

    Thank you for your video as I am currently trying to repair a friend's Scott Lawnmower, very similar model to yours in the video. Just wondering, did you happen to see what actual RPM's that it was at after you fixed it?? The issue for me: my friend had to constantly prime gas in order to keep it running, otherwise it would quit. I cleaned the carb, and his air filter is brand new compared to yours, when I started it back up, eureka it runs on it's own but the RPMS were at about 4600!!! I have replaced the governor spring as that was stretched out, but this has not made a difference. I'm at a bit of a loss as to why the RPM's seem so high. There is really not much play with the governor arm. At least now I also know which way the throttle speed is going as he is missing that "rabbit/turtle" sticker that shows in the beginning of your video but is missing as well after the cleaning!!

    • @JeffsLittleEngineService
      @JeffsLittleEngineService  4 роки тому +1

      confirm that the throttle linkage on the carb movesand not bound up. Also, it may need the govenor arm reset/adjusted.

    You need to get yourself a ratchet wrench. once you get yourself a set and use them you will never use a box wrench again LOL. Also you should try the E3 spark plug. A few years back I was in Sears and I was such a regular customer that people and the tool and yard and garden section got to know me. This one young guy that normally took care of me saw that I was looking for spark plugs. he told me to try the E3 spark plug and that he will give me 20% off and if I did not like it I could bring it back for a full refund. So I picked up two of them for my riding mower. Once I was done with all the maintenance I could not wait to see how it ran with the new plugs. I can honestly say it was a night and day difference. My riding mower had more get-up-and-go then ever before. After that I was hooked on them. I put them in everything I own that has an engine. They are a little bit more money it is well worth it.
    I enjoyed your video hope to watch another one soon.

      Possibly fuel supply issue, or fuel flow. Try taking off the float bowel, let the float hang down, does the fuel run out ? It could be a clog somewhere between the fuel tank and the carb. Look in the fuel tank, is there gunk near where fuel leaves the tank ? Sometimes there is a screen type filter there, sometimes just a hole, either of which might be clogged. Or a clogged inline filter or shut off valve. How many times can I say clogged in the same reply ? Word of the day.
