A Couple of minor corrections here * I Misspoke and kept referring to the Upward compression part of the compressor as an expander! The effect is correctly described but it is called Upward compression not expansion! Expansion increases dyanmic range, Upward Compression definitely does not lol. Ill go into more detail on this when i cover some of the effects more in depth! but until then i f you want to learn more about upward compression there is a great video by the legendary Dan Worrel that explains it really well: ua-cam.com/video/8z4X8WZv33s/v-deo.html *I forgot to mention you can Re-order the FX by dragging the mini module on the left side wherever in the chain you want it! I knew I’d forget something small but important 😂 That being said I am planning to do a video just on creative uses of the FX soon! So I’ll be going into a whole lot of cool uses for them / interesting ways of stacking them together Also if anyone has anything they’d like to add to what I’ve said in the video please reply to this pinned post so people can see your tips 😃
This guide is awesome, thanks for being so thorough. Are there pros and cons of using the effects within vital vs applying equivalent effects in the daw? At least for a beginner like myself who can't hear much difference between different plugins for the same effect, like the countless compression plugins.
@@GarronsMusic Awesome! I don't have much experience with synths so I'm still just watching tutorial videos to get a feel for the controls. Many of the other videos I've seen are shorter videos that show how to make specific sounds but don't explain all of the controls, so this is exactly what I'm looking for.
I feel like I went from 30% understanding it to 99%. Everything just made once when you explained it, and now I have a muuuuch deeper understanding of what everything does and how to do things. Amazing. Thanks so much!
this vid took me three sessions over three days to learn ... mirrored what you did. my god. what a gargantuan synth this is, feels like endless endless possibilities. watch me spend two hours learning wavetable editor just to use basic low passed saws for my entire career LMAO. thanks so much for a really informative video without a lot of bad jokes like other ppl love to use. new sub✌
Dude, I can’t believe you make this type of content. I’m so pumped to watch this. but at the same time, I feel like every other time you finish speaking I’m expecting you to say something about being delicious. lol.
normally i don’t watch videos longer than 15min...! but this was a very good in depth tutorial to vital. regarding vitals complexity, it naturally still only scratched many of it’s aspects. if you put everything in it though, you’ll probably end up at 20 hours! so great job, you definitely covered more, than the official vital manual does. if only i can remember it all...
This video was extremely helpful and truly it has been the best tutorial I have found after a couple years research now. My favourite aspect is you focus on the tools and their functions when so many other videos are about creating one specific set of sound(s). So far I've mainly used Synth1, free samples/effect plugins and LMMS native plugins to some success, though mixing has been the worst (clashing frequencies, competing bandwidth). I think with this I'll be able to more easily improve my instruments; sound and my knowledge. Thank you so much. 🙂
just shared this on my discord, nice stuff these "every module" videos are excellent I remember watching a couple of these for blender, can be a great way for coming up with ideas
The Gowl, Snyder, has nothing on you, m8! Fantastic stuff. Lots of really interesting little bits I had no idea about so thank you an awful lot! Consider this a formal / written request for an in-depth FX tutorial plz! [Best nan voice] You're a good lad, Garron!
I'm pretty 'fluent" in synth, but I'm struggling to wrap my head around Vital's mod remap feature. Could I possibly request an in depth video explaining/exploring this feature? Thanks! And keep up the awesome content!
Thank you! I’ll cover that for sure soon! 😃 In the meantime! Incase you haven’t seen them “Dash Glitch” has a bunch of great in-depth videos about remap 😃
Yes, very clearly and understandably into the depths of Vital with me. That's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks Garron . I'm not that professional because I'm actually just looking for ways to edit my field recordings for my music,I think the Vital fits very well let's see what the future will bring. Thanks for sharing 🎧✌
Thank you for the massive tutorial. One thing that confused me while trying the wavetable editor was the section right under harmonics and was hoping to learn more about it here but the video didn't touch that part. All good though, still learned quite a bit! Thanks again!
Great video and a lot of information! Consider lowering the volume of the synth you play for demonstration, because all of these extreme example sounds and pitches are very loud.
So helpful! Thank you very much for taking the time to make this video! P.s. at the end where you mentioned topping the charts… you sounded like Dougal McGuire 😂 I’m sorry! 😂 but honestly, amazing video! Liked!
You should either record in 60 fps or limit the chaotic cursor movement because it's hard for a beginner to filter instructive movement from filler movement. In the end the tutorial was very helpful but I had to rewind it hundreds of times for a week until I managed to follow all of it.
Great video, thanks! A small thing you missed on Macros is that you can actually control/automate a Macro from another input. Eg you can map 5 parameters to a Macro AND then control that Macro from an LFO!
By far the most detailed video about Vital ever produced by anyone, many thanks. I've been using Vital for several months, still unravelling some of its pervasive mysteries. Between Vital, Dreamsynth (another of my favorites) Octane and WaveRazor, just about anything is possible, with a tiny budget.
Thanks man. Comprehensive and clear. I just started with Vital and you just provided a significant jump-start. I look forward to watching more of your videos.
Graet tutorial Thank you ! Love the way Vital sounds. I couldn’t get any presets installed on Helm his vst before Vital , but Im guessing that dev just decided to focus on Vital so I think Vital is quite enough and very good.
This is a brilliant video, thanks so much. Would be interested in more of a look through how the spectral morph and distortion parameters work. Actually, in general any tutorials on actually applying all this and creating sounds (I think you said at the end there you're making some soon, look forward to them). Love your style! :-)
Thank you! Yes much more specific vital stuff is coming! I have a few Other videos on my channel! I just wanted this general overview on my channel as a resource for people! 😃
Hi~ First of all, thank you very much for your teaching, which is high-quality and complete, but I would like to ask you a question~ May I ask how to control the "macros" part? I'm currently only using random to make him move, thanks!
Big Thank you for that one. I guess, I need to watch that... some more times XD But it is perfect explained... as far as I can say that ^^. Just started
very interesting video ! however idk if i missed it but do you know how to create a portamento effect between keys ? there is the glide parameter but it doesnt mask the cut when you changes of keys, i would like them to glide on the pitch.
"wave morph" doesnt show up in my DAWs modulation section. what could it be called when i try to modulate it in my DAW? The list of modulations for vital is so endless I aint tryina test each one it could be
amaziong video here man, my biggest gripe with vital is that theres no filtering available for the sample section without using one of thje two main filters. I usually just want to remove the low end :/
This is the best video for Vital! Subscribed. But... I'm wondering if I did something wrong here. Both my pitch and mod wheels are not functioning at all from the moment I load a wave as was mentioned here. Also, when I drag the pitch wheel onto the pitch within an oscillator... it doesn't function. Same for my mod wheel when I put it on a filter for a sweep. Is there some setting that I'm missing? Thanks in advance, if you can answer this!
for some reason there is no audio preview when I'm adjusting a setting. Is there any fix for this, i've looked everywhere for this issue but can't find anything on it?
OK, I am sold on this synth… BUT, I have a question… Do they inundate you with ads about buying add ones and what not? I would rather pay for a synth than install one for free and then get blown up with ads and/or emails…

it's nice to find tutorials that don't spend too much time explaining what envelopes and LFOs are
That's funny. I am looking for more indepth video about LFO and Env to shape things more technically but cant fingure it out..

Not sure if I missed it, but a handy-tip, Vital's bank format is just a renamed .zip. I find it easier to work with .zips than the export feature :)
