I started practicing yoga at 58. I'm 61 now and have recently discovered your channel, which I love. I would consider myself an improver (aren't we all?), as I practice daily. However, no matter how hard I try, I can not step through from downward dog! This bothers me as it interrupts the flow of the class, but I will never stop trying 😊. I’m 54 starts yoga 6 years ago, I still can’t do a lot of poses, but I’ll keep trying them 😅, It’s get better,never give up,love it ,it’s nice to know I’m not alone 😊
I am practicing since 23 (am 43) and still have my troubles with particular moves - but am able to appreciate every little achievement- hearing to my body's requirements has the most beneficial impact; and this class was a huge gift today!!!❤❤❤❤
I have no problem with the headstand itself but I am so far away from getting my head on the ground when standing (even if I bend my Knees)... So I had to go down on my knees to do a headstand 😂 am I the only one struggling with the part right before the headstand? I really love your videos ❤ I'm looking forward to the next one. Thank you 🥰
In my in-person yoga classes, the instructor has us start with our knees together, put head/hands in position, then lift onto feet and slowly walk forward trying to get our hips above us (kinda reminiscent of dolphin to start) to help strengthen our base! I don't know if Charlie would recommend otherwise but my hamstrings are too tight right now to do it the way in this flow- something I apparently need to work on lol

I have trouble with this too! I feel for me it is my anatomy. Long legs and short torso. Even if I were perfectly flexible, I'm not sure I could make it to my head from a wide legged forward fold, unless I'm basically in the splits.😂
My feet were weightless for half a second before my brain registered that I was actually doing a headstand for the first time and the excitement and fear kicked in causing my feet to plop back back 😅 I’m excited to build more strength and confidence over the next couple of weeks. I had just finished your last challenge when this one popped up. I didn't expect to keep doing challenges, but here I am. Thank you for the time, energy, and intentionality you put into the sharing of the classes. I had a 4 month bout of depressiln throughout this past winter and stopped moving my body. Which of course exacerbated the condition. I couldn't get myself on a consistent workout and movement routine and remembered i always turned to yoga in the past to support moments like that. Sure enough, i found your work and got back into it. I've been practicing daily again and being moderately active every day for the last few months. Your classes are uniquely engaging for me, offering a little twist here and there, a little challenge, and tranquility after. This has helped my sleep, my health routines, and lifestyle all get back on track. Your work and skill is very much noticed and appreciated. That fallen triangle transition was slick. I will keep practicing to get close to smooth. There have been several really creative transitions that I haven't experienced before, already in just 3 days. 😍
How lovely to do shavasana in perfect peace, the silence punctuated only by birdsong. Cactus, twists, warrior poses- my back really appreciated this. Thank you yet again. I can't wait for Day 4!
Always thought it’d be a much longer time before I’d get any lift on the headstand, but this morning already I managed an inch or two. 😄✨ This is *huge* The biggest inch I’ve ever experienced. Thanks, Charlie
Hahahaha my body was more eager for headstand than I was! Before I knew it my body flowed into position with such confidence! I was a bit taken back and settled for keeping my toes on the ground. I am so proud and excited myself! Thank you Charlie 🥰🩷
I suprised myself today, I dared to actually put a decent amount of weight on my head, coming all the way on the tip of my toes. They're not lifting up quite yet, but it's awesome to see such improvements
I am proud of myself for doing this challenge and i hope that everybody else feels the same. I tried my best, i have never ever tried to do headstand before so this is challenging. I even feel like it was easier to bring my head on the ground on the first day. What i need to work on is patience and coordination, but overall this is a very relaxing experience for me 🩷 thank you so much for your work charlie!

I did not think I was ready, I did not even plan to (I still feel safer with the wall) but I listened to exactly what you said and my legs started lifting! I DID IT!! 🥳🎉 I’m into week 3 of the headstand program (amongst others) and if anyone is unsure if you should work with Charlie, DO IT!!! You WILL get there and surprise yourself so much!!!! Another bonus class for me! As much as I love chilling in regular headstand, I’ve always found tripod headstand trickier. Why’s that? I have been improving in the last couple of years, but I can’t say I enjoy getting and staying up there, as I do with regular headstand. So today’s practice was perfect for me. I also thoroughly enjoyed the creative sequencing in the first half of the class. So much fun! Thank you again Charlie😊

Another sweaty one! For me it's almost impossible to enter supported headstand from a straddle. It's as if my brain doesn't quite know what's going on and which muscles to engage lol. Wonderful &, for me, challenging. Challenging in a good way! Headstand still evades me but I will not be discouraged. I think I'll take the advice from one if the commenters by coming at it from pike instead of straddle, old hips! This may have been my favorite practice yet!! When I went into the headstand position my feet automatically lifted up it startled me 😂😂😂 I really enjoyed it❤thank you so much for amazing content and classes always ❤❤

This feels like a perfect follow up to the first challenge (meaning the one from January). If I’m remembering right, that one started out a little easier than this one. But this one isn’t a *lot* harder. Just harder enough to capitalize on the gains from the first one. Or at least that’s my experience so far. :)

Loved loved this class, at 67 I can’t get my head on the ground for supported headstand so I tried the one from day 2 still can’t get there but I’m having fun trying! Your classes are at a wonderful pace and I look forward to new daily challenges, thank you Charlie❤
Couldn't quite get my head to the floor but enjoyed the full flow and sequence to get there. I'll def be more confident to try it again. 3 days in and loving the challenge 🙏❤️

I’m here for the challenge and improving myself so this was exactly what I wanted but head stand with legs not straight up in the air but spread out like that was really difficult. Yet it was great to learn what I can and what I still can’t do. Thank you for posting.
Hi Charlie! I am really enjoying this challenge so far and am very excited for the month ahead! Couldn't lift feet up in this straddle so just took them up into a tuck and then straddled from there :)
I enjoyed the class,today I didn’t feel funny with my head down,I was comfortable, I didn’t lift my legs up, but I was comfy,that’s progress for me. Day 3✅💜🧘🏾♀️🇰🇪
Loved the pace of this practice. I tend to rush through life. One of the greatest gifts from practicing yoga is to slow down and pay attention! You had us shift our weight and spread our toes before balancing and it made a big difference! Thank u Charlie! I hope you are getting as much from teaching as we are from being Followers!❤❤❤

Okay... You got me here. I couldn't get the headstand ... I barely got my head to the floor, legs don't stretch far enough apart or something. I got the crow with head down n knees on upper arms like crow tho !!! I'll get there !!! Hopefully !!! Can't wait to do the next one !!!
I lost a lot of core strength after pregnancy and child birth. On day one, I flopped down every time during chaturanga even with my knees down...today I was came down each time with control! Definitely an improvement and so encouraging on my journey to regain strength.
I enjoyed this class Charlie very much. While you were doing a headstand I happily had reached down far enough to put my head on my block. It felt good as yoga always does for me despite my clinical diagnosis of bilateral hip osteoarthritis and scoliosis. I’ve practiced yoga daily for 20 years and at 65 I feel great. Thank you for challenging me to do more and better

That supported head stand is crazy!! I can normally rest my head on the floor in the position, BUT pushing into the supported headstand was cool and I didn’t think I was gonna lift my legs but I did and got scared so I kept my toes on the ground 😅
Day 3 : ✅ Thanks Charlie ! My only "critic" is that sometimes your flow and speach are a bit too quick for me as I am not a native speaker (in english, ofc). I loose track when I have to first translate in my head your words then to do it on the mat ! But otherwise it is perfect ! 😊

Loved loved this class, at 67 I can’t get my head on the ground for supported headstand so I tried the one from day 2 still can’t get there but I’m having fun trying! Your classes are at a wonderful pace and I look forward to new daily challenges, thank you Charlie❤

Couldn't quite get my head to the floor but enjoyed the full flow and sequence to get there. I'll def be more confident to try it again. 3 days in and loving the challenge 🙏❤️
That was amazing. You explain the cues so well, especially for engaging muscles and posture. I never thought to pull in my feet during warrior two, worked a treat!

I’m here for the challenge and improving myself so this was exactly what I wanted but head stand with legs not straight up in the air but spread out like that was really difficult. Yet it was great to learn what I can and what I still can’t do. Thank you for posting.
Hi Charlie! I am really enjoying this challenge so far and am very excited for the month ahead! Couldn't lift feet up in this straddle so just took them up into a tuck and then straddled from there :)

I enjoyed the class,today I didn’t feel funny with my head down,I was comfortable, I didn’t lift my legs up, but I was comfy,that’s progress for me. Day 3✅💜🧘🏾♀️🇰🇪

Loved the pace of this practice. I tend to rush through life. One of the greatest gifts from practicing yoga is to slow down and pay attention! You had us shift our weight and spread our toes before balancing and it made a big difference! Thank u Charlie! I hope you are getting as much from teaching as we are from being Followers!❤❤❤

Okay... You got me here. I couldn't get the headstand ... I barely got my head to the floor, legs don't stretch far enough apart or something. I got the crow with head down n knees on upper arms like crow tho !!! I'll get there !!! Hopefully !!! Can't wait to do the next one !!!

I lost a lot of core strength after pregnancy and child birth. On day one, I flopped down every time during chaturanga even with my knees down...today I was came down each time with control!
Definitely an improvement and so encouraging on my journey to regain strength.
I enjoyed this class Charlie very much. While you were doing a headstand I happily had reached down far enough to put my head on my block. It felt good as yoga always does for me despite my clinical diagnosis of bilateral hip osteoarthritis and scoliosis. I’ve practiced yoga daily for 20 years and at 65 I feel great. Thank you for challenging me to do more and better

That supported head stand is crazy!! I can normally rest my head on the floor in the position, BUT pushing into the supported headstand was cool and I didn’t think I was gonna lift my legs but I did and got scared so I kept my toes on the ground 😅

Thanks Charlie ! My only "critic" is that sometimes your flow and speach are a bit too quick for me as I am not a native speaker (in english, ofc). I loose track when I have to first translate in my head your words then to do it on the mat ! But otherwise it is perfect ! 😊
